I really like Pedro as Joel-a good casting choice. Bella I’m still ambivalent about-she started off really awkward in her delivery in EP 1/2 but got better in 3 and 4 with more wit and less high pitched brat. I wished they coached her voice more because the game dialogue is not as good in a higher voice. The series itself for me is very overhyped-the game is amazing-the Tv show is okay. Its really slow and poorly paced, the story itself is engaging enough but take episode 4 for example-nothing happened in the span of 1hr 3 mins- it needs a proper story overseer. They need more sequences between bandits and the infected- I know they want to showcase the emotional side but there’s not nearly enough new dialogue which is helping the story atm.

I mean I think I have the same mentality as Marina savages had awkward lines to me “we can be bad as we can be good” I honestly think Purge the Poison is better as a political track- some of the phrasing may be a bit blunt but overall I like the juxtapositions.

Whilst I do not think she literally meant Covid purge humanity for Mother Nature-moreso humanity take the fact the ozone has healed slightly due to being indoors as a sign that you need to slow down- I can see the flipside I would also like to add that it’s controversially a top 10 song for me in her discog- it’s loaded with a lot of compiled meanings which are lost when you take it as Marina being “political feminist”

1. The family Jewels/ Electra Heart- I cannot decide because both of them are great pieces of work but have weaknesses the other doesn’t- Jewels is an all around good paced album but it’s a safe one especially for the time when others like Lily Allen were doing a similar thing lyrically. The album has most of her iconic songs like Hollywood, shampain, I’m not a robot-it’s definitely a classic. Electra heart is her best album to me overall writing wise-it’s full of wit, humour, digs deeper into societal issues without being patronising and is simple so the message isn’t too far fetched. But it does slog at times in the middle section. 2. Ancient Dreams 3. Froot 4 Love + Fear

Ancient dreams is a good album Idc, there are moments where she ends up in a paradox lyrically but overall it’s got some of her best production, beautiful vocals etc

I thought the name change was inane-why bother? Just go by Marina diamandis if you don’t want to be confused as a band.

I actually prefer the production for the most part on ancient dreams than Froot… the drums hit a lot better- Froot has some great work on it(title track in particular) but I’ve never been a massive fan
