I think you can say a lot about this song but I don't think you could say she doesn't really feel this way. She's single so when she sings about her man or love or whatever that feels more insincere at this moment-- I do think she genuinely cares about politics and the world. That being said, I think she could have been less obvious about her delivery.

Obviously May 26th was the day those sites were given. Now maybe it got changed or pushed back or whatever, but there's no way all those places care enough to search high and low to get a rumored track release date and spread fake info. They're reliable sources. It may not be in May but I would bet it was at least going to be May 26th at one point or another.

People still had legitimately founded expectations even if Lana didn't confirm it

TBH I know he's trash but I went through a G phase. I could see lana on a song like this, like I don't think they're completely incompatible I also think Lana has never come out with something that sucked so I trust her

My comment was more directed at the people who wanted her to die for writing an article they didn't like (I didn't either, but come on). But maybe she got a scholarship to whatever fancy liberal arts school you're talking about (i don't know that much about her); maybe her apartment is rent controlled; maybe she has 6 roommates and it's tiny; maybe it's technically brooklyn but you really don't know how much she spent on anything in her life and honestly why does it matter. That article is shit but why are we paying her this much attention? This also isn't directed personally at you or even angrily-- I just often get defensive when I see people make assumptions about people because you never know what your words do to them and you never know what they've been through.

That article was super annoying, and I would be pissed if I were lana, but I think this is going a little far here. We can't make this many assumptions about one journalist based on one article, and we should never wish someone was dead for expressing their opinion I think we have to remember that our words have real impact on real people
