  1. The thing is, we're thirsting and expecting her into releasing sometime in the coming weeks when we shouldn't even know about YAIL anyway - she hasn't even mentioned the new album yet, so there's no basis to our expectations tbh it can be pushed back as much as the label wants until any official mention is made

I think, if she doesn't begin the release cycle within the next two weeks then we're waiting for some magazine interviews to create hype instead of her just dropping the bomb after a year and a half, but that could probably take until mid-March to allow time for the magazine to promo themselves/Lanas interview

I just want her to start acknowledging and talking about the new project over anything else, so we can begin to anticipate the mood/general atmosphere and inspirations around the record :deadbanana:

Sidenote: do any of yall reckon Lana will attend some of the grammy events this year like she did last February? :creep: need to see her on the red carpet again

I don't think she's going to say anything before she drops the song because any kind of hype will most likely result in it leaking. That's not to say they're going to release it any time soon necessarily, but everythings so delicate for lana and her team rn they kind of have to opt for a surprise release

  2. I can't stand his music and I think he's kinda overrated. If somebody likes him, fine, but I definitely don't want him on my favorite artist's album. (I don't want any collabs on a Lana Del Rey album in general.)

I think he's the only person I could see her actually collabing with of all the people that get thrown around. Their voices would actually sound beautiful together. I know you say he's overrated and that's a fine opinion but most of his music actually sounds nice even if you don't like his persona, and I could see her dueting with him on songs like hollywood cemetary sings, when you're smiling and astride me, strange encounter, I went to the store one day etc. I think he has similar inspirations to lana and they worked together on the freak (UV) video and it was amazing. Lol but if you don't like his music there's kinda no changing that i just think they're more similar than people might initially think

  3. Tbh I think honeymoon was really beautiful, but I wish there was more rise and fall, like parts where the music swelled and it allowed the words to have more impact. Also, after hearing what someone wrote about how her choruses have gotten less complex I can't stop comparing-- I hope even if it's in the same aesthetic she takes some time to flesh out her choruses and allows those to have meaning as well as the verses.

  4. Guys, writing is so subjective there is no one best writer. We don't have one best writer in the literary world because even though F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote amazing things like TGG he also wrote weird af stuff like Diamonds as Big as the Ritz. And even though lana's written some amazing songs like old money she's still written stuff like Guns and Roses a lot of people don't respond to (although I like it!). Same with beyonce same with taylor swift, it's a dumb argument to have in the first place.

  5. It's amazing to see that Lana still has such a dedicated fanbase taking in account how little she has done since the UV era.

I don't know if her contract it's up but in my view HM was a pointless album that can be very well defined as a contract filler. I expect her next album to be in the same mold as HM, Lana has a strong esthetic vision but unfortunately little else. She can write 1000 HM songs with Nowels that are pretty and occasionally interesting but they will be easily forgettable and overall boring. She has no commercial power anymore, I predict that she will hardly open in the top ten anywhere in the world and that she will struggle to sell 350k worldwide. She clearly gave up up her pop aspirations, she has a subpar management which is massively scaled down (when Eclipse type of online trolls are leaking your new material...come on!) so I don't expect any promo besides her silly online strategies. I think that she wants to become a quality artist but I don't see that happening and not only because she still has a predominantly negative image in the business in the US but mainly because I don't think that she has the lyrical talent or the live chops necessary to achieve that.

But kudos for her fandom because they are the only reason for a lifeline in her fading career

I feel genuinely bad for you. Not everyone was born with good taste or judgement.

  6. do we know if this is going to be her last album? like... her last last album? it would make me sad because her music has only improved since the start of her career but her peak was in 2012 and i think as diehard fans of hers we can accept that shes not going to reach that level of public recognition again

of course though, i could be wrong, its not like shes striving to be a famous pop singer so she may just release whatever she wants and not care who listens or doesnt

I mean her contract ends but I doubt she will stop. She has made hundreds of songs in the last 10 years that we know of it's her passion. She may change how she does it or go dormant for awhile but it doesn't seem like lana

please leave if you would think anything she puts out is bad. it may not be your personal preference but she is an amazing singer/lyricist. Don't do that here.

After all this mess, y.a.i.l betta rip my entire scalp and head off my neck CLEAN.

AND NO STOP PMING ME FOR LDR5 INFO FIND IT YOURSELF/ AND NO I DONT WANT THE SNIPPET PLS STOP TRYNA GET ME IN TROUBLE K THANKS.

This always pisses me off why do people come on here just to trash lana or be negative about her album? Like why waste energy on something you don't care about/aren't excited for

  7. This totally, I feel like Honeymoon was an album for herself, though not so /personal/ per se - I mean, it had stories of the hardships of her fame, but then diverged into the abstract storytelling from Religion - Swan Song

It was almost like she created this album to separate herself from the intensely emotional UV era, and distance herself from the darkness and controversy associated with it

This next album is jumping off from the peace of Honeymoon, so there is more room/headspace to build on something new and interesting, if that makes sense? Almost like she had a solid foundation, unlike with UV

    LDR5 will kick ass

I hadn't thought of that but it's so true-- in a lot of ways honeymoon was kind of her defending herself against the backlash of UV. Like with the HBTB video and GKIT you can tell she was trying to remind reviewers she was human and that whatever they wrote and the way people addressed her fame effected her, which ultimately is what they responded to I think.

  8. I think it's going to be her best. It'll have new & amazing lyrics as well as a new sound.

I agree. I think something about her silence makes this all seem a little more planned than honeymoon, like she has a really detailed vision and she knows it's potential and wants to do the promo right. Not that Honeymoon was bad it was great but it was for her I feel like and I feel like this will be a little more widely appreciated
