Norman Fucking Rockwell - Pre-Release Thread

Rick was talking about bridges being their thing while the industry doesn't care about them anymore and it shows But I'm not mad the songs are AMAZING regardless Quote from THIS interview: "After that, we solidify the verse and chorus. We usually write the middle eight from scratch—that’s the section that comes after the second chorus. It is a construct of classic songwriting sometimes called the bridge. You don’t see a lot of middle eights in songs anymore. I love that we write them because I think they make the songs more timeless and satisfying." -

I started crying on California All my life I had more faith in their relationship than my parents' one lol and this one fucked me up on so many levels it has to be about Barrie -

Heard once, lost my wig and won't listen again until miss Lana drops it on my doorstep herself. If you can't help your curiosity at least try not to sabotage your own experience. You'll thank yourself later California will fuck you up get some tissues -

Shouldn't Target have censored covers only while ldr shop online has the explicit ones exclusively? I thought retailers have the NFR! ones only -

But again he's taking risks in production with all these different analog instruments. It feels very organic and I think he gets Lana's sound just like she felt with David Kahne with AKA. I think they clicked instantly on what she wants. Rick said they're working together on songs that they'd want to listen to and I think she's found the same energy with Jack Emile was a new producer for her to make a smashing debut and Dan was a completely new energy for her that she got excited for but it was also very dry in the final product, meanwhile NFR feels complete, colorful and open -

The thing with NFR is that lyrically she seems to have taken more risks. People say the lyrical content is more direct ("basic" lol) but I just think it's her honesty talking. It feels like she's approached writing differently and build the tracks around the melodies and lyrics rather than having fun with the melody to the music (as I think Honeymoon was written) or writing from a specific perspective in mind (UV's universe). It would also explain her poetry - she started writing from the bottom of her heart instead of going with the fantasy. That's why these songs seem to be on a new level of vulnerable even given her heartbreaking lyrical catalogue as a whole Keep in mind that these are my assumptions and assumptions only -

It's dumb that they pulled them off. We're listening anyway and she's losing legal streams. I know it's not many coins but the numbers are another thing. It's a shame they didn't secure everything properly. This whole situation is on another level of messy. For a big artist like miss Lana you'd think they'd actually do their job -

1) The Greatest 2) Venice Bitch 3) FILLY 4) Hope 5) MAC (just because it grew too old for me but she's still beautiful!!) Doin Time is in its own lane can't be compared tbh. Too different in production -

The Greatest and FILLY are ENOUGH TO make Honeymoon retire in my heart. Honestly her best. She really went there -
I like to see everything in neon Drink lime green, stay up ‘til dawn Maybe the way that I’m living is killing me I like to light up the stage with a song Do shit to keep me turned on But one day I woke up like, “maybe I’ll do it differently” So I moved to California, but it’s just a state of mind It turns out everywhere you go, you take yourself, that’s not a lie Wish that you would hold me or just say that you were mine It’s killing me, slowly Dream a little dream of me Make me into something sweet Turn the radio on, dancing to a pop song Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you I really do I used to shoot up my veins in neon And shit’s even brighter, you’re gone So many things I would say to you; I want you You move to California, but it’s just a state of mind And you know everyone that does it, you can't feel it and you're tired Wish that you would hold me or just say that you're mine But it’s killing me, slowly Dream a little dream of me Turn this into something sweet Turn the radio on, dancing to a pop song Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you I really do You turn for California, so it's not just a state of mind I met you on the boulevard, but you're not here you blew my mind and if I wasn't so fucked up I think I'd fuck you all the time It's killing me slowly I moved to California, but it’s just a state of mind It turns out everywhere you go, you take yourself, that’s not a lie Wish that you would hold me or just say that you were mine It’s killing me, slowly Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you I really do Can't believe my dream, got my money on my mind Got chances in LA, burning all the time Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you I really do Can't believe my dream, got my money on my mind Got chances in LA, burning all the time Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you Fuck it, I love you I really do Can't believe my dream, got my money on my mind Got chances in LA, burning all the time

Yes yes! I may have explained it less than I should have but I meant ironic as in a play of words? The culture is cool and lit but at the same time it's disorienting and in a weird place in a way. +1 -

Has anyone realized that the same vocal she used to do in black beauty live before the chorus on lattm tour is the same one she sings before the greatest chorus? So cute -

"The culture is lit". My interpretation is that her using that phrase is ironic. Kanye is still a thing while Beach Boys don't play anymore, she and her friends miss rock and roll, everything was better back then and now it's just not the same out there in the world. The ball meaning that the best things already happened in her life, at the same time California is on fire and we're trying to reach space colonizations and it's a weird lanscape for us as humans. But at the same time she loves Migos and trap so who the fuck knows why she'd say that in a bad way lol -

Ok girls I think it's: "I want shit to feel just like it used to" "Hawaii just missed that fireball" "Kanye West is blonde and gone" "Oh, the livestream’s almost on" You can disagree but you'll be wrong
