the HYPOCRISY when you just called me immature for not agreeing with you y'all just can't help it.
Huh? I'm calling you immature for criticizing everyone else for liking something and suggesting they must be pretending to so they can seem edgy.
Anyways, bye. I'm done arguing with children on the internet.

this is what I truly can't bear. these so called stuck up "stans" like you who think their opinion is the only one that matter and their taste is immaculate. sorry to break it for you, but I'm not one of those. some stans are so far up Lana's ass that they will literally eat up anything she does. I'm not desperate for attention, I just want to state my opinion, which I think I have the right to, given this is a public forum, not a cult. hope is a snoozefest. it's bad, it doesn't have any instrumentation, which makes the song drag on. it's just plain bad for me.
Lol. You literally said that people who like Hope are pretending to, and telling them they're not edge. Sorry if the song is too mature for you, but it's a beautiful song.
And then you go on to say Venice Bitch is cute but drags and criticize it as though your opinion is the only one that matters, despite VB probably being her most critically acclaimed song to date.
Of course you have the right to express your opinion, but the way you do so is clearly looking for a reaction from other people, hence my "desperate for attention" comment.

I really do feel like this album is going to be worth the wait and her best yet. I also feel like she might know exactly what she's doing with this release plan, and the year wait may be on purpose in the end, but I also might just be drunk.
Venice Bitch really is the perfect song to close the summer and it really is about nostalgia and the passing of time, so maybe she wanted us to sit with it for a year before dropping the album.
Either way, I am super ready for it and I don't know why everyone is so concerned about a date at this point. It's coming super soon.

I am a great fan of LFL, or at least 65% of it. I think the sound quality is poor overall, the production messy and overcrowded, and there’s a lack of cohesion, but I still rate it highly. Songs like WTWWATWKD were a big step forward for her, after retreads like ‘Freak’ and ‘Art Deco,’ among others, which she could have produced in her sleep. For me, on ‘Honeymoon,’ she sounded bored to death with her own material and on her own album, and PDLMBM was embarrassingly bad.
I think the best tracks from UV and HM combined would have made an okay album, but I would still have liked it less than LFL.
Retreads like 'Freak'?

I really really really hope that venice bitch and mac arent on the album. I hardly ever listen to them and i've never craved to hear them either. And now they're just old and washed out and i feel like putting them on the album would just be annoying when we could have two completely fresh tracks that we haven't heard yet in those positions. Hope however remains skinny and deserves a spot
Now that's just bad taste.

ngl... lana seems to be doing a good amount of collabs lately so i wouldnt be surprised if she jumped on bad guy (also another great source of promo for the album which her managers would love) but yea im not sure if we would consider lana a megastar
I would definitely consider Lana a megastar.

Agreeeeed.
Lol you need to calm down, this is such an extreme reaction.
She. Doesn't. Owe. You. Anything.
Have you ever thought that the album might have never been delayed? She hadn't even finished the record yet so it was way too soon to choose an actual release date. If when she finished the album in December, it was clear that it wouldn't be out soon, I don't see why she would apologize for a "delay" because of an unsure date she mentioned once. There's no lies or manipulation of anything. How could she even manipulate her fans by doing nothing kkkkkkk I'm dying. And how is posting snippets misinformation? Did she say anything in the captions? The answer is no. -
NFR is a surprise release set to be released on her birthday. 21 this year is on a friday, the day artists usually drop things to chart on Billboard200
Don't be cruel.

Wow just listened to the snippet, it is extremely beautiful. I wanna listen on repeat but I'm going to stop myself and try not to listen again.
Please let this mean the album is coming.
-
Obviously it's possible that Doin' Time means nothing for NFR, but it would be pretty damn smart of her to drop a track like this after the massive delays before finally announcing the release of NFR soon. It's sooooo good, and the perfect summer bop. Even better than the original I think.

I wonder where the un-PC LDR has gone, the writer of 'Gods & Monsters,' the more visionary LDR.
The lyrics for Hope are pretty damn visionary if you ask me, and some of the most complicated and heartbreaking she's ever written.
-
Can I be honest? I think that's a possibility. Lana's writing has been suffering recently (in my opinion ofc, none of the singles wow'ed me when it comes to lyrics) and I think if she spends more time with her new friends her writing will suffer even more. The thing about Lana is that she has been through some pretty dark, weird and shitty situations and when she wrote about these things and relationships her storytelling abilities shined the most. She has been living a calm and happy life for some time, and that showed in some songs from LFL. Give her a couple more years with this new posse and the only thing she will have to write about will be the California sun, matcha tea, ugg boots and how sad she is because she was in the hot tub for too long and got cold when she got out.
Gotta disagree here, her lyrics on Hope and MAC are easily some of the best she's ever written. And people can say that Venice Bitch has bad lyrics all they want, but the song evokes a mood unlike any other and the repetitive lyrics add to the hazy trip down memory lane. I think it's probably the best song she's ever done.
As desperately as I want the album, Wild One (or whatever it's called) is extremely beautiful and I can't stop listening to it so that will appease me for a little bit lol.

I am so curious to hear Cinnamon based on everyone here, I haven't listened to the snippet yet. I really don't want to, but I may have to give up and listen I have overplayed the HIAB snippets.

Maybe Lana will drop the album this week on Good Friday. She does love a good religious theme.
(Disclaimer: I don't actually expect this to happen )
-
In Lana's defence, time is passing alarmingly fast in life lately, so maybe she hasn't noticed that it's been so long since she dropped the first tracks lol
-
Every time I listen to Hope, I get confused as to how anyone could find it boring. It's so stunningly beautiful to me.
-
Even though zero part of me expects a surprise release tomorrow, it would be really nice if it did happen because I move tomorrow and would love to explore my new neighbourhood with the album this weekend. Please and thank you Lana.
-
I can't imagine there being issues with the label regarding the album. Even if they don't love it, they must know what working with Lana is like by now, and the music that's been released so far is the most critically acclaimed of her career, regardless of if they personally like it or not.
-
For sure, I totally agree that she should say probably something about soon, and I even moreso agree that her managers acted rudely and immaturely today.
That being said, just because modern fame works this way doesn't mean it's right. Lana is an extremely talent singer/songwriter who shouldn't have to stop releasing beautiful music just because she doesn't want to play by the rules of modern fame. The way we treat celebrities can be sickening. Fans of Britney and Amy were atrocious, and it's a sad reflection of our society that it's normal for some people.
At the end of the day, we really don't know anything about Lana and that's how she wants it. One thing we do know, is that she has alluded to depression and other mental health struggles she faces many many times. So I think before we are all so quick to judge her and attack her for not giving us the updates we want, we should step back and let her do things at her pace. At the end of the day, she is human and she owes us nothing. She releases music much more quickly than many artists do, and I do think she genuinely does care about her art and the people that love it. I also believe that she probably gets pretty overwhelmed by it all and sometimes the easier thing to do is retreat and stay silent.
