I’ve been to the last two (2022 and this year). Unfortunately not going to next year’s as I want to try something new but they were both very fun!! 2022 was their first festival after COVID so it was messy but the lineup was amazing, which made it worth it. There were some glaring issues in 2022, mainly with crowding in bigger stages and limited water refill stations, which was mostly fixed in 2023 (however the lineup wasn’t as good as 2023 so I don’t think it was as popular/crowded). Food and drink is very fairly priced. I’m from the US so it was surprising that the festival starts at 4pm and ends at like 6am the next day - the headliners are likely end at 2am each day. The weather is always perfect since Barcelona is by the beach, Barcelona is just a great city in general, and it’s an overall experience of a lifetime imo. The lineup is probably a godsend to us here at LB but I don’t think it’s amazing for the general public, so I suspect it will be more similar to 2023 than the hectic 2022. Lana is for sure the biggest draw, so expect her day and set to have the worst crowds. Overall, it’s amazing festival and for me, it’s been so worth it every time (I would try to spend another week or so in Barcelona/Spain just to make it worth it).

Thank you!! It sounds soo fun!

  2. As per Spotify, Violet is a podcast :oic2:

All jokes aside, Violet is not a studio album but some people dismiss the musical aspects of Violet too much. It doesn't just accompany the poems in the background, sometimes it fully drives the entire mood of the writing. Bare Feet on Linoleum is a completely different experience on paper vs on the recording. If we removed Lana's voice, then it would obviously be an instrumental musical album, and I don't think the poetry fully takes away from that.

So no, if we're counting studio albums Violet isn't one of them. But I think Lana obviously thinks of it as an album in her overall artistic output.

  3. Lyrics are kinda basic and I wish she took it further but it's definitely an addictive bop :true: gonna dance up a storm with some drinks this weekend :beyonce:

I hope the album is more complex but it's a great intro to the sound!

  4. This is obviously speculation since I have no idea how she actually feels, but I could see her casually signing a letter that supports Biden without thinking too much about it because of how aggressively people have accused her of being a Republican and wanting to distance herself whenever she can from those ridiculous claims. The letter focuses on getting the hostages back so maybe that's all she was presented with and thought "yes I am a Democrat and yes I want the hostages returned safely." I believe fully that her heart is in the right place as always, but she should absolutely educate herself further on what Israel is doing right now if she's unaware of how dire things are.

I think anyone who supports Israel's right to defend itself has the responsibility to see what that currently looks like. Some of the videos I've seen from Gaza in the last two weeks are beyond horrific and etched into my memory, and there is simply no justification. What Hamas did was horrific and unacceptable too, but the situation in Palestine is worsening every day and must be stopped. The fact that people are losing their jobs for reiterating things that major human rights organizations are saying is truly insane.

  5. I'm sure that she meant well and doesn't grasp the full reality of the situation. Definitely disappointing to see and I hope she learns more, but I won't hold it against her for now. My mom and a lot of other people I love would have certainly signed the same thing thinking it was the right thing to do, but I have been doing what I can these past few weeks to learn and share that information with others.

  6. omg I always thought instead of "the rumblin' from distant shores" was "the wrong Boleyn from distant shores" and just assumed it was a historical reference I didn't understand. I always meant to look into the meaning one day but I suppose that's not necessary anymore LOL :toofloppy:

  7. It's good! A mix of great moments and cringe moments. It sounds a little too young and derivative for me at times but it's a fun album and it's definitely growing on me since the first listen.

Logical worst song she's released, should be deleted from the album.
