I like the the new song, but IMO only Sweet Spot matches the greatness of her earlier work. Heart To Break, Hillside Boys, Turn off The Lights, Close Your Eyes, Slow It Down are just on another level.

Heart to break got a small radio push AFAIK, although I don't know what it's AI peak was. Getting radio play is all about industry connections, I mean look at Billie Eilish her single bad guy has been doing absolutely amazing on spotify like in the top 5 since release so she is a big deal and yet, radio really only started to play her like 10 days ago.

People might be overreacting, but she is being unreasonable too...the longer you wait, the higher the expectations are. If she released this album 1,5-2 years after FROOT it would have been fine, but 4 years of wait for this? Come on now. It should have been better after all that time. She should do what Demi & Rihanna used to do just quickly move onto the next era.

To the people who think Lana is just a "rich white woman", did you forget that 1. Her parents literally sent her away from home at the age of 14 because she had a drinking problem? Can you imagine your father just casting you out? That could not have felt good. 2. The love of her life literally did die from an overdose and we have proof that is true. You think it was easy dating an addict? 3. Her father DENIED FINANCIAL SUPPORT and they cut contact for 7 years because he did not approve of her ambitions and lifestyle. She did odd jobs here and there and babysitting to make a living. Does that sound super priviliedged to you? She had her fair share of problems.

She was never a role model, nor did she try to be.

Did you watch her early interviews? She did NOT create a "damsel in distress" persona to sell records, she was never commercially driven and I think we all know that to be true, there is plenty of evidence to it. Even back in the Video Games days when she did a lot of interviews, she said her inspiration behind making songs / music was that they are beautiful, for example she put the Chateou Marmont in the Video Games music video because she loved the color scheme of the place. She did not try to exploit anyone. She just created art for herself that she thought was beautiful. She did not even know it was going to blow up and make her famous. And as for the "trauma tourist" thing. The "sad girl / sad is beautiful" aesthetic has been thriving way before Lana has entered the scene.

I drive like that all the time and I never had any problems. It's really not a big deal.
