Lovin' the Lana. Although Ithink the Englishman thing in Hollywood is overdone, I like Damian.

London is one of the biggest financial capitals of the world - where do you get your presumptions from that people don't get big opportunities here? I think Lana's popularity and selling figures here say the total opposite of what you're saying, tbh. Your last sentance - that may be true for people who fit the cookie cutter mould (Katy Perry, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, etc) but I think people here are given more chances if they're a little odd and different in their style. The music charts in the USA are astounding beige and samey and perhaps don't like injecting diversity into them because people like the set up. So therefore, that's not always true that everyone is given the same chance to succeed. It looked as though, to me, some people in the US (not everyone, but a lot of critics and the like) had it in for Lana from the outset so how is it true that she was given much of an opportunity there?

If anything, it could improve her creativity. New experiences, new lands, new cultures, etc.

I would agree. Um, US musicians and bands have been getting influences from British music since forever. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, The Sex Pistols. & What does "where an empire dies" supposed to mean?

I checked in some newsagents today and they said they send back copies that aren't bought so I don't know if you can order specific copies from the website or if it's worth emailing them for an issue. Oy.

Ignorant, yeah. Racist, no. Prejudiced and stereotypical, yes. Dumb comment he/she probably instantly regretted posting. I lol when people think California = the whole of the USA. It's like a whole other world [to me] full of unique people which I love about it. Yes, I love Lana's individual style. Says a lot about her like she doesn't follow trends/isn't part of a crowd.

She looks so cute and her smile seems to be so infectious. I also love her rings, especially the green one she always wears.

I was just wondering about Lana's accent. Is hers typical of people from New York? I love it so much.

I love her "trust no one" tat. Does she have an infinity sign on her hand as a tat or is that something else (page 1)?

Yeah. The whole song, the production, the backing, the instruments..is perfection. I also love the backing sounds of when she sings "the way I roll like a rolling stone" in the second verse. I'm not sure what that effect is but it's really awesome.

Seriously?! I liked her stuff years and years ago and she was an awesome lyricist also. I'm excited for anything she releases then.

I love the idea of this thread. I've thought about my favourite moments in her songs and it's interesting to read other people's and what they mean to them. Yes. Moments/lyrics that always get me are:-

Really? People are still buying 21 in droves and it came out over a year ago, I think. As long as she keeps outselling Rihanna, I'll be happy. No shading, just think her music is infinitely better and deserves to sell more.
