Off To The Races/National Anthem - for me the best of BTD. So original, so badass and I fell in love with Lana as soon as I heard OTTR but NA cemented it.
 
Pawn Shop Blues - amazing song. I could listen to it all day. The lyrics, the song, the melody, the guitar..all of it..perfect.

Kill Kill - again another song i could listen to all day. Her voice in it is perfect. I love how she can change her voice like that, depending on the mood of the song.

Mermaid Motel - okay at first I admit, I wasn't really into this song. But then I had a breakthrough and I now adore it! The sound effects and the lyrics and the sensuality of it. Uh so good.

Having a president and a democracy would be fairer. Countries are based off a hierarchy whenever there is a monarchy so it's not fair for anyone..

not true, people come to see buckingham palace, not the actual royals. and they don't really, because if they really cared about our shithole of a country, they'd actually give the REAL people some money and sell off their damn possessions. i don't give a damn how old she is, 86 isn't even massively old, my grandma died at 96 and she helped people out her whole life but she wasn't a royal. 

i hate authority in general but i think a monarchy is really taking the rise. i think that everyone should have a chance to rule a country and i'd much prefer a presidential system. these royal people do fuck all (barr diana) and yet people worship them and it's unfair because they're actually born into it and it doesn't give anyone a chance. 

And look how much money it cost, tbh.
 
I don't think Britain would fail at all from having no Monarchy. Well, more than we are already failing. They cost more than they bring in, I'd say. 
 
Tons of stuff in London to see that doesn't relate to the royal family. Museums, art exhibitions, restaurants, clubs, pubs, the West End, etc. Lots of things. 

I think a lot of people don't like it because the monarchy and people who are 'fans' somehow think they are higher beings and superior to "commoners" and unfortunately it creates a class system and a hierarchy which people find themselves labelled as a certain class. It's not good for anyone, apart from the "blue bloods". No one is superior to anyone.

It's really just the textbook American accent.

London is one of the biggest financial capitals of the world - where do you get your presumptions from that people don't get big opportunities here? I think Lana's popularity and selling figures here say the total opposite of what you're saying, tbh.
 
Your last sentance - that may be true for people who fit the cookie cutter mould (Katy Perry, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, etc) but I think people here are given more chances if they're a little odd and different in their style. The music charts in the USA are astounding beige and samey and perhaps don't like injecting diversity into them because people like the set up. So therefore, that's not always true that everyone is given the same chance to succeed.
 
It looked as though, to me, some people in the US (not everyone, but a lot of critics and the like) had it in for Lana from the outset so how is it true that she was given much of an opportunity there?

The end is nigh. It is pretty disturbing and revolting. What a logical pairing--Capitalism & Art.  They sure do luv each other. This is the nature, i suppose, of the current entertainment industry, it's just ad space. Even if there's no product placement or nothing is being sold, everything, from movies to television to music just feels like a fucking commercial.

I'm just happy that no one really flipped out and actually started arguing. Because we can go into statistics about each country and city in the US and UK but the bottom line is, it's Lana. She'll still be as creative as ever no matter where she lives.

Apparently the British aren't cultured at all but the Queen still lives in a fucking castle. Windsor Castle was built some time around the year 1070. Yeah, ten seventy and The Queen still lives there half the year. Also, these men are obviously paid to stand outside Buckingham Palace for no reason whatsoever apart from decoration.
 
And you think we look to America for advice when the UK is clearly further ahead with a lot of laws (eg: gay civil partnerships, gun laws). If anything, the UK should be a huge role model for the US. Yes, I agree that America has pioneered a lot of things but that doesn't mean that they belong exclusively to America. Most of America's population is descended from other countries. Nothing is exclusively American, like Evil said earlier, rap/hip-hip originated from African slaves (rap is just a very developed form of blues).
 
All music is inspired by something or other from somewhere. Dubstep was a genre that originated from London and now it's in 90% of American pop music. Don't forget that Lana has scottish blood relatives, so the UK is literally in her blood too. Also, it doesn't even matter where Lana lives or not. She can fly over to America and stay for however long she wants there now that she's probably rich as fuck. The California coast isn't going to disappear now that Lana's living in the UK now is it?
