I think my mom will enjoy this album. I had high ish hopes but the only song I liked was Garden of Eden after a few listens. I’m pretty surprised by the disco influence here, feels like she’s a few years late to a trend that’s already mostly run its course. And it did feel more like trend hopping than a natural shift in her sound, but that’s just me. Hated the Taylor Swift song. But above all, the main issue for me is her throaty OTT Joanne voice all over this–it lends itself fine to ballads, jazz, country, and some rock, but on a fun pop album it just sounds out of place. I did appreciate that she played more with her vocals throughout this album than she has in the past few albums though. After Joanne, ASIB, Chromatica, Harlequin, I think I finally have to accept that she isn’t going to excite me anymore or bring anything new to the table the way she used to.

I can’t wait for these films she’s in to start coming out. So curious to see how she is as an actress, it’s beginning to feel clear that she’s more than just hype or name recognition since she keeps getting attached to more and more projects with fairly reputable names

Aesthetics were there at least but I feel like this and disease are so Ava max… very much lacking the uniqueness and special sauce of the darkga of yore. I want to like this era so bad but it just feels contrived and unexciting. She’s been looking fantastic though

it’s so boring and directionless… I like the I think about it all the time, club classics, and 365 remixes but other than that this feels so weird… like for everything else they basically changed the key and removed any element of excitement/brattiness. Not to mention everybody’s lyricism including Charles’ own is at their lowest. I get what they were going for here, showing brat’s soft underbelly sort of, but it’s frankly a little rancid to me and I don’t think I’ll be returning to this.
