Knowing Lana, it's gonna be a really depressing album like "u killed me on my honey moon/u took the honey out my moon/now im all alone on our honey moon"

New album is titled Honeymoon and is "similar in style to Born to Die and Paradise". Lana covers the song "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" on it. The album is more "noirish" than Ultraviolence. Nine songs have been written for the album, four of which "the production is perfect; I'm looking for a few more songs to tie together".
"I Can Fly" was adapted for Big Eyes - she had originally written (and made?) a version of it, but then changed the lyrics to match Margaret Keane's story.

Just getting into Marina again Am loving the songs we have from FROOT so far! Does anyone have Lonely Hearts Club, Scab and Plaster, The Family Jewels, Living Dead and E.V.O.L. in HQ? I love those! Also, were those on albums originally?
LHC is on the UK Deluxe of Electra Heart, The Family Jewels is on the iTunes Deluxe & Japanese Deluxe. Living Dead appears on the UK Standard & Deluxe versions of Electra Heart. Scab and Plaster & E.V.O.L. are outtakes from Electra Heart, Marina gave E.V.O.L. away as a free download on Valentine's Day 2013.

->Lana has shown 10 songs to producer Mark Ronson
->There's a song called Music to Watch Boys To and she previously said that the album was called the same
->She said something about it being probably released around August
->Nothing else really

Immortal > Froot & Happy for me. Froot was definitely a lot fresher than all three, but I really love the meaning of Immortal.

As good a time as any to post the Sucker instrumentals tbqh #thwarted
(enlarged so you hoes don't scroll past)
I can't take credit for finding them so don't ask me lol. From old man winter
the breaking up instrumental
if only it had the backing vocals
EDIT:
I tried to make a version of Fancy for Sucker that doesn't have Igloo on it. I had to cut the original song down quite a lot (otherwise it would have just been loads of instrumental + the bridge and hook), so it's much shorter than the original track. I also couldn't find an instrumental without Igloo's I-G-G-Y at the end, so I just left it be. It's not amazing, I'm sure someone else could do a better job, but here it is anyway:

I think that one of the main strong points of the album is that there is a lot of different moods going on, but they're all so cohesive together. You have the broken Lana in Pawn Shop Blues adjacent to the Lolita-esque Put Me In The Movie. Suicid storytelling is juxtaposed in Jump with the romanticising of For K Part 2. The album is a masterpiece, can't rate it highly enough.

HONESTLY the best album she's ever made & one of my favourites of all time. She combines the clever lyricism of the Sirens era with the unique production of latter albums. Despite what she said about her ideas for the album being different to Kahne's, I still believe that this album is absolutely perfect - I can't fault it at all. It's absolutely criminal that it didn't receive a wider release and that the general public know her for Born to Die as opposed to this fabulous record.

It's just a loop tho. Meh.
That's basically what the original Bleachers version is like (+ a second verse after the chorus)

We don't have any Sucker outtakes. As for True Romance, I guess everything we have, after 14, was gonna be on her debut album at one point. There are a lot of songs that we haven't even heard. TR has been in the works since at least 08. I just have all of the 'loose' tracks organized by year in one album.
Thanks! Regarding TR, I mean songs that we definitely intended for the album as it stands now, but just missed the final cut. So in Lana's case, for example, this would be You Can Be The Boss & Kinda Outta Luck.

Do we know which tracks are SUCKER outtakes and which ones are TR outtakes? I'm just trying to update my iTunes and I hate having loads of songs as "Unreleased".

I'm still holding out for So Over You and the full version of Rollercoaster
EDIT: Someone made an extended version of Rollercoaster

I can imagine a jazzy, LDR-style title track. A summery-sounding chorus where she intermittently sings "music to watch boys to" and hums a little.
And why do people thinking that it's going to be in the style of DICWB? Just because Ronson is producing & both titles share the word "boys" does not mean she's going back to bubblegum pop.

Brooklyn Baby/Florida Kilos - Now...where did all the love for these two songs go? IThey're Lana's most refreshing songs! Lyrically far more interesting than most of the songs from UV that ended up touching on subjects she has sung about for so many times that they don't sound authentic anymore. These two songs are by far the most interesting tracks from the album along with Cruel World.
Cola - Um. The fact this song has even been mentioned in the overrated songs thread is ridiculous. I might be the only person on this board that thinks it's a great song and looks past the opening line which already is iconic itself. The song features some of the best production Paradise had to offer. The mix of guitars and strings and soft drums give it this tropical and ethereal feel. It's like a warm summer breeze.
Wait....people actually dislike BKBY, FK and Cola????? BLASPHEMERS

From the LA Times interview:
Daniel Heath produced and co-wrote "Big Eyes" with you. He's been a longtime collaborator.
Yes! [Laughs.] Dan was my first boyfriend's best friend.
I know it's not of terribly great significance, but I thought it was kinda relevant here...now, who could the first boyfriend be? (K??????????)

From LA times interview:
I'm working on a new record now, and I have this one song, "Music to Watch Boys To." The title lends itself to a visual of shadows of men passing by, this girl's eyes, her face. I can definitely see things.
IDK about you guys, but this sounds like such an interesting concept to me! She could do a lot of cool stuff with it (and I hope she does).
