Everything that has already been said above I would say too! I want to add that her sensitivity and the way she implements it into her music is also a huge achievement. Unmatched. She turns all the way inward and is vulnerable. Honouring that innate gift of vulnerability and self-examination and being able to live a meaningful life by doing so is her biggest achievement, in my opinion. That is one of the sole reasons why she is my biggest role-model and it is what we should all strive for as human beings.

I am just so curious about the title change! One week away and we don’t know the title - that truly does increase the hype-factor for me and I’m so intrigued, I’m really anticipating something bold and great

I think Mike replying is a good sign - if it wasn’t coming next Sunday, he would either say something about how artists release on their own terms or how he doesn’t influence their releases (he said something of that nature to a Lana fan in the past). I’m taking this as a playful way of confirming July 4th!

That’s so sweet, I wish I had a community whose birthdays all fell within the same month, it must be super fun and special <3 I think besides Lana - her dad, Jen, Jen’s husband Mike, Valerie, Tatiana, Tobey Maguire (the actor, who is Tatiana’s boyfriend), Booth (a photographer friend of the Grants), and the new baby are all born in June! LOL my birthday is in a few weeks so I could use this manifestation

That’s actually a really good point - she never made an announcement about the three singles (and ended up deleting the post of the 3 single covers that didn’t even have a caption anyways) so this hushed approach seems to be it. She already said an album is coming July 4th so I think she will just release it like the singles. Even LMLYLAW - probably her most low-key single release to date - had an announcement beforehand. These 3 technically did not, so I hope we’re right about the ‘surprise’ drop for the whole album!

I was hoping that the fact that no new date was added meant July 4th would remain intact but if the album is delayed indefinitely, I wouldn’t be surprised. Oh well!

The album is allegedly coming out on 7/4. 7+4=11. There were 11 songs on Lana’s last record. Lana’s last record was her 7th record. 7/11 is a place that Lana was spotted at on July 28, 2020. 2 is a factor of 8, and when you divide the two numbers together, you are left with 4. We took the numbers 2 & 8 from July 28th, but we didn’t do anything to July, so we are left with...July 4th! The math is mathing ❤️ Album out July 4th ❤️

Yes, apparently it was one of the 12 songs mastered for COTCC that people in the “insider circle” had ahold of in the summer of 2020

If there’s no updated date then I guess that’s a good sign? Because if he got a new version of the record with new songs and the date remained, then surely that would suggest it’s still coming on July 4th?

This is exactly what she did for Lust for Life. She didn’t finish writing/recording the record until June 9th 2017 (and then the final mixes/masters likely weren’t done until a few weeks later) and then she had a digital release on July 21st with vinyls not shipping until September 29th. And not that it matters to the art itself, but she still got a #1 in the UK and on the Billboard US chart, which is an extra perk for the label and her commercial success! So I would love a similar situation this time around

Omg this is exactly what I was referring to. They make such bold accusations of what her activity was at the time, who she was hanging around with, and her state of mind, but even in the Dazed 2017 interview with Courtney Love, MOJO magazine this year, and like you said, White Dress, she’s looked back fondly and nostalgically on those years - life always has its blessings and hardships at every stage and Lana being the intelligent being she is, can turn both into beautiful art!

I totally agree! I also think that Lana not feigning “happiness” in the traditional sense is a testament to her vulnerability, which I view as a strength. She is always authentic about how she feels and I think that’s what the human experience is all about. I would say that she has life figured out in that way and displays an incredibly high level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

This medium-brown hair colour with the almost caramel-blonde highlights looks so perfect on her. It reminds me of her hair colour in the summer of 2019 - it complements her skin so beautifully and is a happy medium between her truest brunette and her brightest blonde shades! <3 she is always so stunning

I also don’t think it’s our place to speak on behalf of Lana’s emotions as if it were fact too. I think life is always full of wide-ranging emotions and experiences and for fans to basically falsify and weaponize Lana’s very real experiences against other fans to create a weird hierarchy of fan-ship is terrible!

I think it’s so weird too, because Lana has never really spoken negatively of her past records. She’s always defended her own honour and work, so it’s always rubbed me the wrong way when stans create a hierarchy of her records. I relate more to NFR and COTCC in terms of my life experiences in relation to Lana’s, for example, but I’ve never invalidated her past records or thought that her past records were “problematic/traumatic” looking back. It’s Lana’s authentic work, so I absolutely loathe the weird entitlement/ownership some fans take on when it comes to them. As for Lana being the writer, she is completely free to identify/not identify with her records as she moves on in her life - but I don’t think that gives fans the right to pass judgement on the albums themselves, because they don’t have the lived experience that Lana does - we’re experiencing her life story within the records as outsiders, at the end of the day.

I was on Tik Tok and I was just so embarrassed on behalf of the other fans. I know that sounds mean and I don’t want to critique anyone, but I feel like there’s just a level of discernibility regarding fake news surrounding this album that even the most gullible of people still have and on top of that, there’s this weird projection of trauma-blaming and illustrating Lana’s past eras as her trauma - which is super inappropriate to insinuate. Like, why are you being the one to put all that out on the table when Lana herself hasn’t? I get why she’s so adamant about telling her own story on this album because I can imagine it’s pretty frustrating and pathetic to have critics - and your own misguided fans - do that for you (and incorrectly/defamatory too). Can’t wait for her to set the record straight in 10 days!
