  1. I've stated, repeatedly, that I believe she meant well. Things aren't always simple, or black and white. You can lack a deeper understanding of something yet still have an emotional response to it, still be affected by it, still care. Anyway, I guess I should have highlighted the specific part of your post I was replying to. It was this:
  2. That's true, many people are privileged enough to not have to care ^_^
  3. We all live different lives, walk on different paths, and we're all dealt different cards. What didn't work for me might work for you. Do what feels right to you, just try to learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others. See everything as a lesson, and don't let things be; examine them, re-examine them, learn all you can from every experience you have. Every time I turned a blind eye to something or ignored a pattern, I paid for it dearly. Granted there were quite a few nasty shocks thrown in there too, way too many for my fragile mind to handle, but some things I should have seen coming. Technically, I'm still young, but I'm just too worn out for certain things, like love for example. I've been put through the grinder lol, and there's no coming back from that. I'm not capable of trusting anyone, and without trust there can't be love. Call me cynical, but every time I assume the worst I'm right. It doesn't help that I'm only romantically attracted to men, i.e. the scum of the earth (no offense, you know what I mean). This plague upon humanity never fails to remind me what awfulness they're capable of. I'm pretty sure the good ones are like, one in a billion, and I'm not going to waste my life waiting for a miracle that won't happen. Maybe in another life.
  4. I try to find comfort in little things. I wasted my best years being all serious and trying to build a future for myself. Getting married, starting a family, etc. If I had realized the futility of it all sooner, I would have had so much fun. I would have spent my time instead of investing it in things that never came to be. When you give up on the future, you can live more in the present. You can have more fun. I find comfort in money and material things. And in laughing at people who want me in their lives so badly now that I don't want them. Life is funny like that. I truly do thank you for your kind words, kindness is so underrated. And you can message me any time you want too <3
  5. TIL that you can't type and listen to music at the same time. Mind = blown, all this time I thought it was entirely possible TI also L that streaming Lana's song is the only possible way you can help the families impacted by the recent shootings, so if you're not doing that, you're obviously not doing anything at all.
  6. I appreciate your words, but I do not expect to find peace before I die. I do hope for peace after death, but not much else besides that. It's far from ideal, but if I've learned one thing, it's the importance of working with what you have and making the best of your circumstances. When you're not allowed peace, you get better at fighting And when you're not allowed safety in other people's company, you're forced to improve your relationship with yourself. Which is always a good thing.
  7. Well, the more you lose the less you have left to lose, so it's cool. I'm just saying it's something we all need to be aware of. Nothing and no one is forever. Sometimes people leave your life on their own volition, sometimes you cut them off, and sometimes no one's given a choice because death is a sad reality of life. It happens. Denial only works for so long.
  8. I'm playing it immediately after I'm finished downloading it when Lana officially releases it and not a moment sooner
  9. Imagine being a Lana stan and believing a word out of her mouth in the year of our lord 2019. Some light reading: http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/10658-lies-lana-has-told-us-thread/
  10. I'm literally editing the song and deleting that part if she's included it. I was probably one of the biggest HIAB haters here back when we only had the 1st snippet. Like it couldn't sound dumber. Now, do the other snippets contain any mind-blowing lyricism? No, but they're cute & catchy af, and I must have played them half a thousand times.

  12. I don't personally find that precious or worth admiring, I see it as basic decency (that many celebrities happen to lack), but I definitely agree with the rest of your comment. She doesn't strike me as a malicious person at all; I do believe she's coming from a good place and has good intentions. I don't think she'd do something like that for pats on the back.
  13. Guess it's not much of an unpopular opinion then lol! Yeah I never saw any of that but I fully agree.... I just listened to it for the first time in like 5 years and it's still as bad as I remembered lmao
  14. I completely agree with you but this is definitely way too nuanced for Lana. Sis just starting to wake up. We've discussed this before, she's not a quick learner. Despite her sheltered upbringing as a child, she went on to live the kind of life that should have taught her so much about the world, about society, about people who aren't privileged like she is. If even half of what she says she's experienced is true, then the only logical conclusion is that she just doesn't take that shit in. She might romanticize it, but she won't analyze it. I don't think she ever understood. And she's not alone in this; she's one of millions of people who think America was in fact great once -because they were too young (or unborn) to realize it wasn't. And because it's easier to focus on the pretty dresses, and the picnics, and the stupid fucking milkshakes, and the diners, and lament that you were born at the wrong era because you're such a vintage oLd sOuL. It's disappointing that she is the way she is, but honestly? Only mildly. After seeing people I considered brilliant, people I deeply admired (such as one of my college professors), side with Trump when he was running for president... I just don't have the same standards I used to. If it takes her 10 years, then it takes her 10 years. I just hope she gets there, eventually. Unfortunately, her current "crowd" seems to be really big on wilful ignorance, so it's probably no use hoping either. It is what it is. Until she falls in love with a man who cares about these things of course. Then you best believe she'll be running to educate and "awaken" herself. ^this
  15. What I don't like about Born To Die is the title track's hip hop elements. They really ruin the magic of the song in my opinion, and I usually listen to live versions. I also dislike Million Dollar Man's production. I deleted that bitch asap lol. I'm in love with the demo version though....it's divine
