not when she had no part in the writing of the song it kills me that it isn't her song

Charli: puts out a song with David Guetta & Afrojack also Charli: "I'm really happy that EDM is pretty much over" So Charli invented AND ended EDM? I stan a queen.

no worries, not feeling attacked at all, sis doesn't do anything for me but ok
-
you spelled "having different tastes in music" wrong (that doesn't apply when you think ponyboy is one of the best songs of the year tho LMFAO mess)

what videos? I'm curious to see the response to those comments as I haven't seen any comments like that

I don't think her wanting to be a pop star and then wanting to make a punk album is being "back and forth" with emotions/unstable with her mood, we've all had conflicting desires at one point. I also don't think the second sentence is contradictory. She revels in her meandering route to success because she got to do it her own way, but wouldn't you kinda hate your career being such a slowburn success, with everyone saying you're the next big thing but you're not going anywhere (until I love it and Fancy of course)? Idk I feel like this is nitpicking at this point. Ohh ok that makes a lot more sense, that's a really interesting view. "everyone saying you're the next big thing but you're not going anywhere (until I love it and Fancy of course)" I feel like that kind of goes with what you said. But at the same time, she's always maintained that it's about the quality of her music and not the sales. Even with Sucker, her most commercial album to date, she said "even if no one bought, I'd still be proud of it." We also have to take into account the state of music at the time. Deep, introspective, synthpop fit in really well with Charli's vibe. It was the right thing for her at the time and the product (True Romance) is timeless. Now, she writes for the effect of catchiness, which she excels at. Do you feel like her writing style now is because of her lack of success with TR? if someone knows how to do it and wants to make a timeline of all Charli interviews that would be really cool

I would really enjoy Tears if the fucking screams were replaced with Charli doing little adlibs in the background, echoing the lines with alternate melodies. I also strongly dislike the "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah" part.

In Out Of My Head, Tove's voice is so bland and lifeless and just... plain, she really shouldn't have been given so much time on the track. Whereas Charli's voice has tons of character. Miss XCX truly saved it. Even her little "uh uh" at the end of the track gives me life. + Alma serves NOTHING

Teenage kicks kinda gives me chainsmokers vibes (gross) but I'm still here for it
-
So far, the only Pop 2 track that I thoroughly like is Porsche, so I'm gonna keep playing Pop 2 in a loop until more tracks stick with me bccc this is unacceptable for a Charli release

I can't believe I just realized your profile picture is a Charli collage, how iconic!

Y'all OMG I was playing Guitar Hero at my friend's house yesterday and I kept thinking about Famous and what a bop it is and then it CAME UP!!! I WAS SO FUCKING EXCITED!!! + I don't understand the hate on here for Charli + guitars. Famous and Explode are such killer bops!

I was just about to comment on that. She's already mentioned the panic attack in the studio, and she's (for the past 2 years or so) had a particular aversion to "being pressured to be happy." She even hates Christmas because of the "pressure to be happy." In her recent interview with Fader, she said her goal for 2018 is happiness. That struck me because I really do want to see her happy. There was a glow in her eyes in the True Romance era interviews. I'm still bummed out that she didn't bring the Number 1 Angel tour to the City Of Angels: Los Angeles. I couldn't make it to her SF show. She tired SO hard to be cool with the image and sound of True Romance I'm not sure I buy that. I feel like she threw TR under the bus to explain the drastic change to Sucker. She recently came back around on True Romance and said it's "such a good album". I also don't feel she was miserable with Sucker because "the sound didn't work", she was just tired of the touring and the endless, uninspired, boring interviews. The entire commercial circuit is exhausting. She began to hate Sucker bc of the frustration and anger (at the music industry) associated with it. she seems to finally be herself. The thing is, Charli has always been herself. She's just gone through different things with each era. When Sucker came out, she always talked about how "this is the real me" etc. and while it was the real her, it's just not who she is now, it's who she was at the time. Not that she's a drastically different person, but no one is the exact same person they were 2 years before, people grow. The thing I struggle with is trying to comprehend the commercial-ness of the Sucker era. Some people here tend to think Charli was playing some sort of character - as if her personality was all an act or something. I don't agree with that. What puzzles me is the way that era makes me view her. It's almost like I view Sucker Charli as an entity - an idol of some sort - rather than a person. It feels a lot more like a brand or a product. Not in a manufactured way, but it all just feels like a dream. Idk, it's a hard feeling to explain. It's amazing what a commercial budget can do. While I have a lot of nostalgia for that era (even though I became a fan after Sucker's release) there's an underlying bitterness to that nostalgia because of what we now know Charli was going through at the time (panic attacks, frustration, and exhaustion). It all just doesn't feel real.

no bc we always drag her jfhkajdfhkadjfh I feel like if Charli read this thread, it would mentally fuck with her she's already stated that she's always unhappy with what she does imagine a bunch of people calling your music "filler material" when you were proud of it? and you already have a history of being unhappy with your work? that's so sad.
-
I overplayed XCX3 to the point where most of it is "filler" to me, it's like when you say a word over and over again until it doesn't mean anything anymore
-
http://picosong.com/wRnJy Blame It On Ur Luv & it's fine, I eventually got the discord leaks I still can't believe Charli butchered little miss Blame It On Ur Luv and turned her into Track 10. She really didn't deserve that, she was a cute bop.
-
GNO hate? reported. Pete Tong's verse is the highlight of XCX3 LMFAOO
-
I don't keep up with the masterposts but all I can say is that none of the 3 songs that recently leaked were worth saving
-
it's ok tho, waterfall honestly isn't that bad and neither is your taste, it could be worse. Someone on here said Ponyboy is one of the best songs of the year LMFAO imagine that
-
we love common sense ok well unless Charli moonlights as a producer, I'm not gonna stan a Charli song bc of the production - I'm gonna stan bc Charli made it amazing
-
omg I didn't know there was footage to the Light It Up session!!
