  1. OBSESSED with dealer. I love when Lana gets weird lol
  2. She’s releasing this week according to Deuxmoi
  3. I don’t know if this was pointed out before but, it looks like the Blue Bannisters clip from Twitter was filmed the day her Fallon performance was filmed. Her hair is exactly the same, and the camera effects look the same.
  4. Ummmmm.... this song is so good? I feel like it’s gonna be an alternative hit tbh. Hit has a good radio appeal. Also her voice???? Lizzy Grant said hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
  5. The instrumentals sound a lot like the OST from The Tribes of Palos Verdes Super underrated, if you haven’t watched. Jennifer Garner should have gotten an Oscar nom for it, but I digress. The OST was composed by Gustavo Santollala (The Last of Us, Brokeback Mountain, August Osage County). The guitar on the audiobook is giving me those same vibes, I’m in love.
  6. People keep giving celebs a hard time for talking about normal stuff along with activism and I don’t understand. People are allowed to have a life outside of the BLM movement. If we just focus on the negativity 24/7 we’ll go craaaazy. (Don’t come for me I’m literally a black man.)
  7. Not a Lana update per se, but Anthony Mandler and Colin Tilley are on live breaking down their favourite music videos they’ve directed. Anthony picked Ride as one of his favourites. He said that he was even unsure of Lana’s vision for the video (with the older men starring opposite her, for example) but it turned out to be so perfect in a way that he never would have expected. He also said apparently she doesn’t like singing in front of people, so the shots of her lip syncing with the flag in the desert they had to clear out the other cast and crew which was annoying. All in all though, he talked about how special she is and how rewarding it was to work with her. EDIT: He also picked National Anthem as one of his top 10. Not as much to say about that one, but two Lana videos are his favourite that he’s ever done which is dope.
  8. To the general public it is a reflection of talent, so her winning would be great publicity. Kacey Musgraves blew up after her wins/nominations last year, I think Lana could likely have the same trajectory.
  9. I bet there will be an MTV movie awards performance lol
  10. I read the review and it’s definitely not a positive one. As mentioned before, it’s full of backhanded compliments and implications that Lana is trying to be some sort of Joni Mitchell/Fiona Apple knock off. I do agree that the critic is just doing her job though, and I don’t know why she chose this one to freak out at when there are definitely worse reviews. Perhaps this is just the straw that broke the camel’s back.

She put on a great show last night! The set felt a little short, and she didn’t play a lot of the songs I thought she would have, and no encore ☹️ Overall a good show though

I’m going tomorrow night! I’m hyped because it’s the first show of the tour so I have no idea what to expect. She didn’t come to Toronto on her last tour so I haven’t seen her since like 2013. I’m so fucking excited!
  13. Perhaps. I don’t even think I’d even mind it that much if it wasn’t for that drum machine beat. It’s very grating.
  14. The album is near perfect. I even like the new version of BAR tbh. It really grew on me. I’m just really disappointed by HTD. That instrumental is whack lol. It fucks with the whole mood of the song. Plus the auto tune used on her voice is really not it.
  15. It’s really nice. Definitely one of the best visuals we’ve ever gotten. It could have been two seperate videos though.
  16. Did the video leak or am I allowed to ask for a link? lol
  17. Honeymoon is her most cohesive. From start to finish it feels like one complete project which i s nice. Honestly, I’d say Born to Die is her best lyrically. We haven’t gotten very many songs as unique or well written as like Off to the Races, Video Games, National Anthem, or Carmen even. Ultraviolence falls victim to the “chorus is just the song title repeated” curse, (MPG, Sad Girl, FMWUTTT). I really don’t get the hype tbh. It’s everyone's favourite album of hers but it really falls short the second half in my opinion. The first half is amazing though, without question. Lust for Life could have been great if it wasn’t so all over the place. Love Song is the only song on NFR that I feel like is bad. Everything else is spectacular. Now I just need to hear it in HQ to confirm it’s place as her best album.
  18. A lot of the melodies are very like early 2000s singer/songwriter alt pop, it’s amazing. I thought the same thing when I first heard MAC and now FIILY.
  19. I think this might turn out to be my least favourite album of her’s, I hope I’m wrong though. I’m really questioning the rework of BAR... I just don’t get it. But maybe that’s just because I listen to the demo so often this one is jarring. I just really hope she pushes Cinnamon as a single. I really think she could have a huge radio hit with it. The summertime sadness remix would be SHOOK.
  20. Lets not jinx it. We don’t need another “vice now running shit” situation.
