All of this is so trash. All of us gays must be careful with who we choose to idealize. That hotel thing is serious. I can separate the artist and the art but I'll not give my money to lost-LA-LVbags-queens who doesn't give a damn about human rights while they're singing about how affectionate is their god. (Isn't christianity supposed to ban luxury ? You americans can be so weird sometimes ^^)

Hope and Mariners are the songs I'm playing a lot, especially Hope. But Venice Bitch and How To Disappear got me bored kinda quickly

That Hillsong chruch thing makes me feel very uncomfortable. I'm use to go to some mass as a gay man, because there's things I can find in it, but I've chosen a catholic church lead by a progressive priest, that is very open-minded and coherent with today's world. It really exists. I'm used not to care about the person behind the artists that I love (Sartre was very edgy IRL, but his work is one of my fave things), but still I'm used to boycott what deeply fears me. Lana's lyrics are very linked to catholicism (Mariners, Hope etc), and I deeply like this dimension, but I honestly have to consider not buying her stuff if I consider that this money can go to organisations that are dangerous for gay people, especially youngsters. + I'm used not to like-a-lot the person behind LDR, she's very liberal, I don't like a lot of the things she says about money and stuff, but I absolutely don't care, I don't have any link to her except her music, and that's all that matters to me. But on the other side, human rights is the thing I don't negociate with (as she lovely said before). So I'll not freak out but I'm gonna keep an eye on it.

I REALLY do love this poetry. I do refer to this passive-lucky-depressed tone she developed with Happy and that. And this one is very musical. We have one thing in common we grew up too soon now it’s time to grow down

We don't have the same vision of all this. I personally think her music is what it is, I don't wait for any improvement, I mean, a singer career isn't an X-Factor tv show and I'm not musically qualified to judge music in general. Even if I personally think that all of the last released songs are very good and mature. And I think it's obvious that Lana Del Rey was more "MTV Friendly" at the beginning of her career 'cause she had biggest responsabilities. Now she/they are doing the things in a different way, more atypical and cohesive to the character she's playing : mysterious, nonchalant and slow. + all the low-definition imagery build her story too. It's not because it's not HD or heavily worked that it's unworthy.

omg yes it's so costy, that why I bought a tablet to read digital comics (there is a lot of good sales on Comixology). I don't like to read a book on a screen and I don't think it's very good for the eyes health but it's ok with comic books. Stephanie Brown is the only Batgirl I don't know well, I have the collection but I have to read it yet. If you wanna dig her Spoiler side there's a Batman collection called "War Games" where she's important. I'm taking a serious look at the Guild, it looks so cool <3 Hope is a dangerous thing for a cutie with your past I never read Watchmen but I know it's one of the biggest thing that was made. If you're interested by this dark adult vibe, the Miller's Dark Knight series can be great.

I tried some Valiant series recently and it's pretty good. I've read all the Batgirl series, my fave is the 52 one but I LOVE the Rebirth too, especially since her new outfit. Nightwing is very good too in that type of ambiance. Edit : What is the "America" title ? Is that the Marvel one ? Is The Guild close to some kind of Buffy tonality ? The titles I've read recently are : Flash 52 <3 Batgirl Rebirth + 52 Catwoman by Ed Brubaker + 52 Action Comics Rebirth Moon knight Archie Comics (Archie by Waid / Archie Horror Comics) Justice League / Teen Titans Rebirth <3 Cyborg (DC You) : That one is amazing as hell, that character moves me since my childhood Kill Or Be Killed Old School 90s : JLA Batman Batwoman 52 (I was so disappointed by the Rebirth one) All the 52 Green Lanterns that are my all time fave. I wish I could discover a little bit more the Marvel comics, but in France their diffusion is so chaotic, do you know a title that can unite various character but can still be understandable for a debutant ?

Hey y'all, I don't see any discussion around comic books around here. I live in France and here there's a public for it but it still is a niche. It's a little bit costy here and there's mostly a year of interval between the US release and the french one. It's known as something VERY american. I personally read a lot of them. For the americans here, are comic books that big in your country pop culture ? Is there an adult public or is for young readers ? And what about the other countries ? What are your favorite comic books (titles or series) ?

I think being rare is a whole part of her concept. She was so blogger in the LfL era, and I think it scratched Lana's opaque image to my opinion. Now she's "back" to a more ghostly-vaporous-surfy-woody-girl version. And i LOVE it way more like that. All we can refer to is the music and some visuals, it makes the content more precious.
