False I bop to it on the reg

She obviously liked it enough to perform it several times... then 99% sure industry politics got in the way and she simply continued writing and she got excited about other stuff. I find it hard to believe that anyone, especially any PC Music-Charli fan, would listen to RNR and dislike it... And all this talk about songs sounding outdated and whatnot... the production on RNR sounded ahead of its time and still does... It might as well be a more refined Vroom Vroom release, or lumped in with POP 2 material, but never was. Warning: going to rant again... The truth is, RNR isn’t a pop song... it’s beyond the fringe, it’s a very likeable PC Music/electro-pop track, but according to mainstream labels, niche electro-pop isn’t “pop” and they know it isn’t going to sell like a pop song. But that doesn’t make it any less great... and so with that said, how can a song be “old” or sound outdated, if it was never fit for the industry climate/pop machine to begin with? If RNR is “pop”, it’s pop like YEARS down the road when the current pop formula has completely collapsed in on itself (and in some alternate universe) progressive sounding, club-orientated music is big and mass numbers of people start appreciating more “niche-pop” material (that has always sounded great and had break-through potential, but never had any industry backing). That’s more or less the dilemma behind the whole XCX3 situation. The industry doesn’t care about the art and if it’s good or not... it’s way too calculated IMO and simply chases what is going to make them money. That’s why the Selfie song blew up and now they want to give record contracts to the “cash me outside” girl and social media stars, or whatever... It’s really sad, because we all know that XCX3 was better and far beyond all of that.

...or a new Vroom Vroom EP/LP! :defeated: ughhhhh....
-
The synth groove in the verses, and drops... instant pick-me-up. And the hook... she sounds so good! Just a feel-good bop!
-
Placing bets on Bounce... realistically... it's the only "alive and well" song left I think lol.
-
Just needs to sound like the SXSW 2016 performance IMO... the production is FIRE!
-
Too busy occupied with T. Swift, Ariana, Cardi, Imagine "Generic" Dragons, mumble rap, etc. etc. It's apparently what the industry wants people to listen to, so that's what people get, I guess? They push what they want... Idk...

I get that vibe... it's like they don't want to lose her (they know she's capable of a #1 smash, and can write hits for other artists), and they want the album to go huge, yet holding the album obviously makes her unhappy (as it would anyone), so they found other ways to nullify the contract terms to allow her to keep releasing material, while they still make a buck... There's just a lot of pressure it seems like.

No Angel is so good! Charli always got me swoonin' during the bridge. :flutter:

Alright guys, believe me I get it. Yeah the leak posts are obnoxious and "against forum rules" and should stop, I agree... but let the mods take care of that (and actually take care of it mods)... some of us just want to talk about a freaking song lol so chill. Its not even worth getting worked up over... honestly...
-
Well I mean, people like the song... I see a lot of talk about other songs, some maybe aren't my favorite things she's ever done either, or whatever... but for me to just start telling people to shut up about them isn't exactly warranted.
-
Why are you like, so "anti-RNR?" I'm genuinely curious... I mean, "Let's all just forget RNR ever happened everyone! Sweep it under the rug!" as if it's like your mission whenever the discussion trends towards the song. It just strikes me as very odd...
-
Imagine RNR coming right after Focus on an album tracklisting... it would transition so well. :defeated:

Where is XCX World: Part 3?? :defeated:

This... I missed her by like a week in NYC, and now that I'm back in FL, I will be traveling again when she's in Miami...
-
This was me like, yesterday...
-
Let's be honest, TKO was just Charles having fun in the studio... but that doesn't make it any less great lol.
-
Hey, that looks so much like Taxi / RNR double single!
-
TKO is addicting... beat my ass queen!

I'm telling you guys, we should express interest in the songs but we should also be patient. Most of Charli's leaks have obviously been demos. Some of them do have a lot of charm but I can't personally see them as material that would ever make it to a full release. Like you can just "hear" it ya know? They don't have that album-material "quality" about them... Suspiciously, songs like Taxi, RNR, No Angel... etc. they never leaked... some tracks did and still have (or likely ARE) getting a release in some form (Bounce, for example)... Just give them time, they will probably come out eventually, but still keep the demand up. Don't let her forget, but just don't be like an obnoxious stan, "harassing" her on social media lol. I know of some bands/artists that have held onto songs for like 7+ years because they were waiting for a fitting time to release. There's probably a reason why we haven't seen some of these fan favorites surface yet. Especially when other random unused songs seemingly leak all the time... I mean it can be fun to joke around and speculate but we honestly don't know anything about what her plans or upcoming releases look like.

Visiting some family in NYC and last night I cracked a joke about how my aunt is "so fancy" and played Fancy like it's her theme song... I don't think I've seen my dad bop so hard to a pop chorus! It's CHAAAALI baby...
-
Bottles even has background samples from Doing It, on it... making it pretty indicative of the timeframe it was made.

I like how Charli recognized The 1975's new track in her playlist... idk why, but for some reason she's always kind of reminded me of a female Matty Healy. It has to be the whole brit-pop thing (obviously), and the 80's sensibilities, and attention to detail + experimental vibes within the music.

POP2 material for a stadium crowd... the implications! :defeated: CHARLI COME THRUUUU!!!
