Or she’s just playing aloof... like people aren’t supposed to know about anything everything she’s working on and holding, behind the scenes, or demos she had months/years ago and never released. She’s prob trying to make a point without going off on a fan or whatever.

I'm not saying she'd be on the same level as Ariana, but if Atlantic pushed Charli as much as Ariana and she was on the front of every magazine/music store/etc., and you heard her stuff everywhere, she would be way bigger, with the SAME material up to this point that she's put out... Sucker, N1A, POP 2... and yeah, Ariana has the raw vocal talent, but I'm not literally saying if "Charli was Ariana" if you know what I mean.
  10. I wasn't much of a fan of their first single from this era... but the last 2 have been absolute tunes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5l6ZoVY2zQ

100% this... Imagine if Charli was promoted like Ariana, the GP would love her. Guaranteed. But this doesn’t happen...

5ITM only sounds “current” because it’s trendy... as in it’s literally playing to the modern/current pop landscape. The other singles are like not playing to the pop landscape at all... doesn’t matter if the songs were written in 2015 or 2 months ago... and so long as nothing substantial changes, it wouldn’t matter if they were recorded in 2020 either... They are “anti-algorithmic, forward-thinking, GENUINE pop tracks that come from a tight-knit group of artists/producers that want to retain control over their sound, and are still creating catchy, INTERESTING, and impactful pop tunes... and THAT’S the power of XCX!

Wish the same could be said for RNR!

“I just wanna have some fun, looking like a young Kardashian!” The song with a video, featuring the Kardashian/Jenner sisters... goes #1, then cements Queen Charles as the long lost, musically talented, British Kardashian sister that nobody saw coming!

A new music review mini-series with Charli?? Also... Charli gurl, you're not listening to the RIGHT kind of "modern" metal, just sayin'.

It would flow well next to stuff like Focus and Roll With Me though... like I don’t see how songs like those get a pass when RNR doesn’t, or how literally anything can go out in mixtape form. Obviously Charles has to feel right about what she’s putting out, but then on the other hand, a good number of people enjoyed RNR, so idk... Anyway, moving on... why did XCX World Pt. 3 disappear??

Could be, it makes sense... but the SXSW version was literally perfect as is! :defeated: lol

I am genuinely gutted about the RNR news... Such a fun track... Charli showcased a fair bit of dynamic range on it too.

I'm only really aware of like maybe very few extreme cases where fans have been "ungrateful" but I wouldn't consider most fans to be. It's just been a very confusing, messy couple of years... songs getting teased, album release windows alluded to, songs not coming out... the album getting delayed... people getting attached to the ideas of songs that were played live and hearing studio versions... Just industry politics, a hungry fanbase, and some really cool music slipping through the cracks (or fading into obscurity), leaks and all-round weirdness... People just really love Charli and want to hear her music. To most of us fans, it's that simple... to the label, it's complicated. TOO complicated. On one hand it's great that Charli is on a major label... she wouldn't be touring with the biggest female pop artist in the world if she wasn't. And I can't stand Taylor Swift but it's honestly so cool that she's on this tour with her and Camila Cabello. I hope it confirms Charli's place in the industry and that she's around for a long long time... BUT on another hand, Charli would probably have a much easier time on a more "alternative" label, where they don't question or interfere with the art or basically say you either "can or can't" release something because "streams/sales/projections." But there's probably less opportunities and creative limitations that come with all of that too... It's hard to say. I just can't stand how these major labels place all of these "terms and conditions" on the creative process. Let your artists do their thing. If you invest in recording singles or an album, see them through. Don't throw money away like it seems like they're doing... Like don't over-bind yourself into weird contracts/record deals that hamper the artist or the process. Establish new business models, implement new payment methods and ways for people to purchase music and determine their own prices... stuff like that. Probably easy for me to say not being involved with the industry, but geez... people just want to hear some music. The labels are quite simply, making it difficult... when you know there's a lot of music being made that will never see the light of day, it makes you really question what's going on.
