These are the first pictures in a while that she hasn't looked off in. She looks so gorgeous! What a creative idea, too. I like the posing and the use of the vibrant colors.

They start touring in late May, I think, and I don't think they're working on a new album yet. And idk it just seems like an event where you're expected to bring a partner if you have one. Like, it's not just some little show of hers or something, it's a major one-night Hollywood function and I feel like he could make time for it. Not hating on him at all--it's lovely how happy he makes Lana in those private pictures on here a while ago, and how stable he seems to be, compared to her other relationships--but he kind of comes across to me as a little bit dour and controlling (eg how he was like dragging Lana off the red carpet and away from fans at the EMAs) and it's weird that he doesn't want to be with her more. But maybe he's a workaholic with social anxiety or something, I can totally feel that.

almost shipping Jaime and Lana now they're so cute and happy ugh She seriously needs to fire her stylists. Ever since the EMAs she's been looking kind of sick and tired; the dark hair, shapeless brows and weird frozen grimacing isn't helping. A Also, where is Barrie? It seems like an event she should forcibly drag him to so he can look pasty and miserable per usual. Most people had at least one picture with their partner with them (Jaime had one with her husband). Maybe he's just more private than her, but I think he could at least show up to support her? then again I'm just a potato with no romantic hopes

I think this song is easily the most beautiful thing she's ever done. Lyrically it's just so vivid and yet hazy, like a half-forgotten Polaroid. And the production is so simple, and yet so powerful. Not to mention the trip-hop influences. Just....wow. Songs like this are why I fell for Lana in the first place.

I'm glad Lana's nominated, but there's no way she'll win against Adele because they've got such an obsession with her because she's ~blonde and white~ and yet can sing soul with played-out, trite lyrics. They might as well just hand her the awards she's up for and scratch those parts of the ceremony. Seriously she just owns this joke of a show. I think Lana could win Best New Artist, maybe. It would refresh my faith in American music awards if she does.

Lana perfoming Ride on Langs de Leeuw today
sukiedelrey replied to Your Girl Lana's topic in Latest News
For a few days here, I had hoped she was bringing the drums back to her live performances because they're so prominent on the Paradise songs. "Ride" sounded divine with them. But no, I guess we're back to this cabaret, strings-and-piano thing. I know it's intimate and beautiful and baroque pop and all that, but I miss the trip-hop beats side to her music like crazy. -
Thanks! I love it so much asdfghjkl

I have this image I'm using for my sidebar on my tumblr theme. Here's the blank image: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdnovlaCqO1rdslkbo1_500.jpg and here it is in the format I want (but I'm too stupid to make better): http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdnd1x6G3w1rdslkbo1_r1_500.jpg I was wondering, could you put the "Mayday, maidez." in a prettier cursive font at the top and "live fast die young be wild" in the Ride font. Like, the one she's used for all her album titles on her coverart. Keeping the format from the one above. Thanks

I'm hearing iconic soul after I don't love roses, maybe.

I've never once watched a formal interview with her. She's so awkward and she always lies/says stupid things. (But I love her speaking voice and when she talks to fans).

That's one of the reasons I like Burning Desire and Serial Killer so much. It seems like she's a real go-getter, in touch with her role in her sexuality and not shy about what she wants, even if it's to "play submissive" for a while. The lyrics seem more self-aware and they show her maturity in her love life. I definitely like aggressive femme fatale Lana, and i'll be interesting to see if the whole album is more "feminist" or equality-minded/personally stronger than BtD. I feel like Lana's heading more in that direction as a person and an artist. (And it's not that I don't like sex as a behavior or social issue, or that I dislike people who do like it; it's just something I don't personally want to do, just to clarify.) -

Sorry if I came across as kind of forceful. I'm asexual, so meh. But I fully respect her sexual choices. If she wants to get fucked hard and rough in the pouring rain by an old man who's cheating on his wife, good for her. It's just the powerlessness she reflects regarding that kind of choice that bothers me. Like, it's how she repeatedly self-infantializes herself and seems so apathetic or helpless toward her part in a relationship; even if she likes a submissive role, I feel like she should still be in charge of her sexuality and who she is as a whole person. It doesn't seem healthy and I kind of worry about her. But I will stand by my pussy tastes like pepsi cola being for shock value. -

On the negative side: These are just my opinions, not trying to be a bitch/downer or whatever. Cola is...stupid. And God and Monsters seems like Radio 2.0, like let's see how many times I can say fuck to prove my gangsta Nancy Sinatra swag. They seem like they're just sexual for the shock value. Like, I know your wife and she wouldn't mind, I'm looking to get fucked hard...really. Those lyrics don't really come across to me as an intelligent woman exploring her gender and sexuality in deep beautiful ways like some people have been saying to me. On the neutral side: Body Electric seems okay, if a little edited. I love the production, I just hope her vocals are better when the final version comes out. Yayo is Yayo, I think it's fine in any incarnation. On the positive side: American is pretty cute. Ride, Burning Desire, and Blue Velvet are great, even if they've already been released. BEL AIR IS HEAVEN OMG IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL I WANT TO CRY. It's like a creepy Silent Night. This is the Lana I fell in love with. -
I like the demo of Blue Jeans WAY better than the BTD version, it's kind of overrated. I miss her old hair (short and red) like freaking crazy and also hate the GQ shoot (counting them as unpopular because I've gotten death threats on tumblr because of them).
