this was her last performance this year. let's see what happens next -
Me too. Plus, I think if you want your fave to keep on going for a long time in times when sales are dead, big venues are great. And she ain't a newcomer to play small venues anymore. Making music is an expensive thing to do.

Nirvana is now negatively attached to Halsey . And a known song from Nirvana is always a biT try hard. My dream setlist would leave out: Cruel World, Cola, Serial Killer, Carmen and Born To Die.

she looks awesome! -
no more nina simone covers, pls.

This is not an unpopular opinion, though If she serves me another lyric fiasco like "stranger than a stranger", I'm out of this fandom

It is such a repetitive mess of a song and the lyrics make no sense at all. It's like Lana's magic lyrics boxset and the "Got your bible, got your gun And you like to party and have fun" reminds me Britney's "really interesting, fun and cool" Meanwhile ITH is a beautifully written song on the other hand

I really LOATHE Cruel World. I always play Flipside as opener for UV and replace FMWUTTT with Is This Happiness.

Sam Smith is always such a queen -
We should start posting some examples of production work on here, since some of the producers mentioned in this thread, I have to admit, I am not familiar with. It is true, that there aren't many female producers out there. It is hard to compare Kate and Tori with Lana. The first two were absolutely nuts in the studio and going all out during their hey-days, while quite ironically Lana sounds waaaay to comfortable on Honeymoon. I remember Boys For Pele still vividly, there is no pop album by a major female artist that sounds anything like it. The first album Tori produced on her own. Kate was the first female and the second artist overall to use samples in her music. Most importantly, these two are trained musicians, while Lana isn't. I can totally see her heading towards being the main producer on every album that she will release, because you never go back once you started doing it. However, she clearly needs guidance, since homegirl has a tendency of drowning her own albums with a pace that makes you lose interest and without the actual song being remotly interesting (see on Honeymoon, but even on BTD and UV there were moments where she was losing me). She needs to learn how to shape a record. A good helping hand is needed, but the producer won't write her songs, so she needs a kick in the ass before she starts recording.

And it has Kanye West on it. Bring us Dr Luke!!! The intergalactic possibilities! "Wanna be a victim, ready for abduction Boy, you're an alien, your touch so foreign Its supernatural, extraterrestrial" Surprised nobody has mentioned Kanye, but I think many ppl just lost patience with him. Not only because of his rants, but also after the whole Anti-fiasco with Rihanna.
-
Which sounds fair since she is a Latina anyway.
-
I just had an idea. You guys will gag
-
Oh oh

Interscope was not satisfied with the success of UV since it was a commercial underperformance overall, regardless how you spin it. But that is off-topic here so please share your thoughts on producers.
-
So now that @@Eclipse is here, bby can you at least tell us if you liked the 2 demos with Rick or nah? I mean, by now we all know you've heard them. It's just demos, but are the songs any good?
-
we all wanna know
-
Well, she was interviewed last year on the red carpet and said that they handle everything perfectly for her, but who knows (I doubt it's a relationship based on love) and it ain't really on topic for this conversation since you know, maybe homegirl needs another producer. Rick Nowels.
-
lol. good one.
-
If I am not mistaken, another album with Lana and Dan is rather unlikely. He really hated Interscope for making it so hard for him being the producer of UV. They basically didn't want to pay for the sessions. I doubt he wants to go through the same crap again with them.

Ok guys, every now and then we go back and forth: who should produce Lana's next album (that is hopefully a biT more engaging than Comamoon). So, who do you want? Very often we see: Emile Haynie or Dan Auerbach. Depending on where you stand musically. Or even Mark Ronson who is now way too attached to that other female releasing an album soon. Hardly anybody mentions Rick Nowels, who has become resident producer. Many of us were not entirely satisfied with the production and lyrics on the last record. So who would be the right person? Feel free to bring in new names aside from the ones mentioned above.
