I do trust her though with her collabs. I’m one of the few that enjoy TNC and BPBP. Even on Bjørns’ songs, she sounded good. I wasn’t sure at first of summer bummer from the snippet, but it works. Right now, i don’t see it, but a preview will probably convince me.

If it’s the case, I dont see it on NFR... so... a summer banger, which would push NFR further?!?Plus I don’t like when a song has three people on it: it seems each one is diluted. And I honestly don’t see the three of them together on a track... Please let it be false.

Same day. July 12. She dropped Groupie Love and Summer Bummer that day.So, she released three songs and teased 6 more... So we have 4 to go. And we don’t have a title for those and know nothing about them...

The LFL songs were registered the day of the preorder. If she releases a song this Friday, it will be registered the same day? Doin Time wasn’t even on PpL repertoire the day it was out...

This thread is a fucking roller coaster : One minute, everyone is ready to burn their Stan card, the other, everyone loves her and is trying to figure out when a track might be out (and let’s not forget the « the album is scrapped » that lasted 60 pages).

Really not sure about the surprise release, though I'd love it. it sure would fit the «no plan» thing, although she did say she wanted a couple more songs out before the album (but then again, what is more random than a surprise release?).

I'm with you on that one. Like, I want to believe... she did acknowledge her 4 last songs, she posted a snippet of the title track... It seems like it's finally happening. And yet, we've been deceived so many times...

Well, the storytelling is amazing on the piano tracks. Plus we do see her become more direct with men, from what we heard this far. it's the first time I don't have the «men are gonna drown me because I love them too much» feeling. VB is similar to Cinnamon : they are both tracks that are all about the music and the production rather than the lyrics, that are almost like «snapshots» or «pictures» or almost automatic writing. So, no, the lyrics aren't all that on those two, but they're all about an impression.

Didn’t she say it was « a couple more songs »? Two is just so precise and, well, she’s been the opposite of that with this era. Doin Time was one of them, the lead will be out at some point, a promo single is a safe-ish bet. Maybe there’s another track non-NFR that will be out ? Like one of her collabs or soundtracks? It sounds a bit like the Joan Baez (or Joni Mitchell?) song she was listening in her car, in the LFL era... You know, the insta snippet where she wears the Yosemite T-shirt? I love her singer-songwriter vibe of the title track, though I was expecting guitars and surfing vibes.

I don’t either... But remember the 4chan report / rumour from March? It said she got a very recluse artist to make a cameo on a track... probably false, but rumours are the only interesting things at the moment we could talk about. And also: if we start to have more rumours, does it mean something is about to happen?

I have honestly given up on doing something that will force her to do something. She is stubborn as fuck. I have not given up on the album, not until September. But I sure have given up on a normal release or one that will « pick up » at some point. I still come everyday here with hope someone will find something but my expectations are so low that they aren’t deceived.I’m not even sure there will be a magical moment when I’ll realize why it took so long, cause there’s probably no reason.

It's another one of her problems: she is shit at estimating how long things take to be done. When she said top of the year, she probably meant it. But it took longer to finish. Like you said, she should have clarified at some point. I guess she thought her tweet on her MissDaytona Twitter account was anough.

I agree with you that this "era" was not done right. She stretched for too fucking long. Like many here, I prefer complete silence between albums but when the pre-era starts, the album has to come out 4 or 5 months max after the first song (which is what most artists do if everything goes as planned). Tease snippets in the meantime all you want, but don't do it while making the record if you have no idea when you will put it out. If it's any consolation, Interscope must know we are impatient and for the next album, they will probably sit down with Miss Del Rey and help her plan her release strategy. They gave her all the liberties she wanted because of the LFL success.

The album was done in December / January. and we are in June. It hasn't been that long, honestly. There's no written rule that an artist needs to put out an album the minute it's done. This happens all the time with books: when they are officially done, there's usually a "waiting period" before it's out, the editor waiting for the season that is most likely to have the book noticed. NFR and the poetry book have a similar tone and they will probably be released close to each other. And I've said that 10 times already: is NFR a summer album? I don't think so. End of summer or fall, but certaintly not June or July release. It's too introspective (Doin' Time has exactly the summer feeling that is needed to do well in summer, and it seems to work). So, even if the poetry book is taking too long and she finally decides to have NFR out before it, she has to deal with Interscope wanting a strategic date to have the album perform well when it's released.
