Credible medias (Pitchfork and such) were citing that press release as official. And, by deduction, i’d Say the umusic website is for Universal Music.

A couple of weeks ago, i thought it wouldn’t make sense since all the tracks seem to be connected to one another. Now, it’s been too ducking long and I agree with you: the first three tracks make a cute preview « EP », now give us te rest.

There was a press release from Universal when Hope came out in January. That’s why I think a end of summer release is possible though not a certainty at all. It wouldn’t be a bad idea, to have it out around the first anniversary of MAC and VB. Anyways, if I was at Interscope, that’s what I’d do: girl, do what you want, but let’s wrap this shit up when we hit September.

I wonder how long she plans on holding on to that damn album. Even a snippet or a so-so album cover would be phenomenal at this point.

Change of subject... In Your Car is about car sex. I relistened to the You Don’t Ever Have To snippet... Could it be about a guy who can’t get it up? NFR, both the track and album, seems to be about a jab to the male ego, so... maybe.

We got many infos during the LFL era. She gave many interviews where she described the record and all. She once said there was an acoustic side to it, with TNC, Yosemite and probably BAR. But she scrapped Yosemite and BAR. Plus she reworked a couple of songs, therefore not matching the initial description of the record. Once she released Coachella, on May 15, she almost went mute (the record took longer and the interviews, initially, should have lead to the album release). Then there was the May 26 rumours that were « confirmed » by major retailers. Just before May 26, she finally revealed that official release with a bland « July 21 fam » tweet, when all of the era was super planned out and served visually. She announced the preorder and a double single release early July, for the 12th. Plus there were also many sources that fed us infos through the process and things changed while creating LFL. So some of us thought the album was gonna sound a certain way but it didn’t. And she decided to include more collabs and a rap to the album, mixing that genre with an already rich album when it comes to genres. So it was a very uneven pre-release period. Maybe this is why she is mute this time around: so she doesn’t end up explaining why some songs got scrapped or changed. There’s almost a dichotomy between the record and her social life, I agree. I personally don’t care how she lives her life, i wish her happiness, just as long as the music is as excellent as she served us.

I need to understand what everyone seems to think is Gemini behaviour. Because, as a fellow Gemini, I don't act like her at all. From what I understand here, Geminis are two-faced and liars. Bullshit. Geminis are always torn between two things, two opposites, two opposed energies. it is their lifelong struggle, to reconcile both. There are a lot of Geminis around me and we don't act erratically or have "two lives". Most Geminis are consicous of that "duality" and pretty honest about it. I see Gemini in her music, when there are opposites in the lyrics or the production and lyrics, but her behavior sure ain't Gemini. More ADD. Anyways, no matter what the sign, anyone can become a fucking bitch or a dick. The reasons may vary, but it's not a question of zodiac.

I don't follow Ellie, but she released a single, a couple of weeks ago?!? I see the setting as followed: Interscope, Ben, Lana and the managers. Interscope: So, Ellie what have you got planned? Ellie: new single and video in three weeks, album in four months, tour in five. Interscope: Sounds good! And you, Lana? Lana: ... (looks at managers, then at Interscope big bosses) No plan! (laughs hysterically) I might drop something at some point in the next weeks. Also, I might cancel a few tour dates, still don't know which ones. Interscope looks at Ben and Ed, then at Lana: You don't know which dates?... Also, don't you have a song coming with Disney in the Fall? So maybe the album before that? Let’s all learn from our previous mistakes here: she did take a couple of pictures with Billie and Marina. No collab came out of it. I see it as a meeting with Interscope or their managers.

There are no legal problems with the name. Yes, the album is mastered and done, but there’s no obligation to put it out as soon as it’s done. And it doesn’t mean the artist doesn’t like the project anymore

The « albums » are probably Lana’s, Dua’s or elle’s. But what if she is recording a spoken album of Violets? (Just a theory)

That and the false assumption that when an artist finishes a record, he/she will put it out right away.

She never said they were stand alone. The October Single (which is probably is Hope) was said to "stand on its own", because it was more serious in tone (she did say before that she had fun doing songs with Jack and that it did reflect in the songs). The Hope press release, in January, said that all 3 singles were "fan tracks" and that the first lead was coming. So, the three songs will be on NFR, unless she cut them out, which wasn't the case in January.

At this point, it’s not even a question of owing rather than just doing an album release on fucking normal terms.

For the future, let’s all remember that the next album won’t be released 15 months after the one previous. And that she really is shit with estimating time to do things. Although Interscope will probably sit down with her and help her strategize a better pre-release era. And I just hope that when the damn era is finally starting that it will be on a short period of time between the lead and the album (with maybe another single between the two). We’ve waited long enough.
