  1. I think they complement each other. You could have one without the other, but they have the same aesthetics and feeling (low-key, Old LA, selfies or phone pictures, introspective), at least from what we know of the two.
  2. So... what’s next? Where do we dig up for new info? I was sure we were going to get one new « something » from NFr or even the poetry book. I’ll go put on my clown face, brb.
  3. I’m honestly starting to think that many here see shit everywhere on purpose (« it’s so unclear / cryptic! » « what does it mean? »). When something is done right, they should give her a break.
  4. I'm sure there is going to be at least one question about NFR... All her precedent interviews had one, so...
  5. NFR sure ain't typical album release. HM and LFL were funnier to obsess over: one had minimal promo but was put out only 15 months after UV, with a very fast release (tease of the title track in June, the full song in July, lead in August, album out end of September, with two new songs in-between). The other, LFL, sure had a ton of interviews and diverse photoshoots to feed us, even when we didn't have a solid release date. Those were the days, I guess...
  6. are you guys serious?!?! It's not Russian literature to understand... She has always loved Vogue Italia and its glamour even though she is not a glamour person herself and prefers to be «in the shadows», in studio recording songs (where she is nowhere near wearing glamour makeup and clothing when she does). I read that she feels kinda «unworthy» in some ways to step up to this (I love a humble queen). I also read she is very humble with her poems and must be afraid to some extent to share something new and personal to the world. Does it mean she is currently recording? Who the fuck knows. Does it mean she was reworking NFR when she did the photoshoot? Nope. It's just that her everyday job, as she considers it, is recording and is not at all glamorous like a photoshoot. As for the «second album» teased by Ben... Could mean anything and nothing. Hell, NFR is taking forever and I'm certainly not getting hy hopes up for LDR7 anytime soon! Best way to be disappointed, to think another album is coming very soon...
  7. I'm with you on the August release. The lead could be this month, plus another single in July (she did say she wanted to have a couple songs out before it, probably including Doin' Time). Plus she wouldn't miss the mark for a possible album of the year Grammy nom (no matter how she runs the show, if NFR is as good as her managers think it is, they sure would ask her if she considered the possibility).
  8. I honestly always saw the Photoshoot as the start of the NFR era. When the photoshoot and article drops, plus it’s almost summer, the album is slowly making its way to us. Even if we only get a damn date with this article, it will be SOMETHING.
  9. BTD: Born To Die. It has strings, there is a very distinct duality in the title, you have the dark moody tone and her unconditional love to her bad boy. Paradise: Ride. It is the song that transitions from her NY songs to her LA songs. It has her longing for freedom on it, which is another major LDR theme. Body Electric is a close contender: it is filled with Americana references (another ingredient of the LDR persona) and her fear of not being young enough to be young. UV: the title track. Dark, twisted, ironic in its lyrics, it also has a very vintage sound. There is also a very strong duality in the word ultraviolence and the way she sings it (softly like a ballad). Plus it's about the most destructive relationship she has been in. HM: Music to Watch Boys To. It is eerie, breezy, dreamy and reflects a sort of detachment she has in her heartbreaks that we didn't see in previous records. The Blackest Day is a close contender, since it is the most "classic LA Lana" ever, and it has a old Hollywood movie stra feel to it. LFL: Two reprsent the album: Get Free, for its stamina and energy to get out of dark patterns and move on, becoming "an adult". Plus it has a rich production, which can be said of almost all the songs from the record. Change is the second one for the lyrics: that album is all about that period of your life when you feel somthing is about to turn, in yourself or in the world around you. NFR: it's still early, but both MAC or VB? The album seems to have two sides: classic storytelling and talented lyricist Lana (MAC) and retro -crazy -writing -about impressions Lana (VB). The rest of the album will tell if it's still the case though.
  10. I extend my hope until end of July or early August. If, by then, we have heard nothing new, then it won’t be released in September probably and i’ll Start believing it got tossed aside or scrapped.
  11. Maybe next week or the one after is the earliest if Interscope wants Doin’Time to live a bit on the charts.
  12. I see the Hope press release as « that is what we know / speculate at the moment ». She probably didn’t have a plan other than releasing the poetry book before like she said. Universal must have deducted that it wasn’t done yet or barely and that mid-year was the most probable thing at the moment.
  13. Like you said, I don’t think he’s that special and that privileged when it comes to having scoops (contrary to what he let believe) or interacting with her. And she did do the same with other accounts. He must feel kinda left out with the NFR era: I don’t think there are scoops to be shared lol.
  14. From what I understand, he writes to her almost every day and every once in a while, she responded. She might have given him a couple of « scoops » in previous eras (she is after all always sweet to fans and he is a very dedicated one and his account did not get the axe when many Lana fan accounts got deleted), but surely not this time around.
  15. Listening to the snippets of the not-yet-released songs after a long time did the same to me. It's gonna be a great album.
  16. Nobody has any fucking idea... She does have to do something at some point...
  17. Not that I want to shit on your parade, but I don't think we'll get one. Even if we put aside her attitude and «lack of effort» with this era, the visuals are deliberate. She described NFR as having no bangers and having a «day-in-the-life» kinda feeling. Her music is always rooted in the present time, with a retro flair; what is more «a-day-in-the-life» than homemade video with old filters reminiscent of 8mm films from the 70's? Plus it doesn't take too much effort to do that kind of video, so there's that....
  18. There sure is a fun vibe coming from her recent posts. Last time I felt that fun vibe from her was before releasing VB and MAC. Maybe something is coming in June? (it's a fucking reach, I know)
  19. It's honestly a very "American name". You have to have a good "Americana culture" to possibly appreciate it. I love the sound and feel of this album. Even the low-key visuals make sense (even if they are not my favorite). The album already gives me HM vibes, which is my fave from her. If only she could finally say something and do something...
  20. How To Disappear is the perfect song to name this limbo bullshit. I love NFR as an album title: it really encapsulates her edgy side mixed with the most Americana reference ever.
  21. There's a bit of "The Revenge of Lana Del Rey" with NFR. For the first time, her work is finally safe and did not leak. Maybe she's telling herself "For the first time in like a million years, I can do things on my own pace and don't have to worry about fuckers that will leak my work". I don't think it's the only reason why she is taking her sweet time, but maybe it does play a role in it. I read your frustrations and your points are valid. It's been forever. At the moment, I choose to believe that what she said to some fan met in LA is true: NFR will be out end of summer. If so, the lead shouldn't be "too far".
  22. So... who’s in for a new NFR single before she resumes festival season (June 22)? Because it sure would be welcomed!!!
  23. As I was listening to two this afternoon, Doin’ Time is also everything we had predicted Venice Bitch would be, when we first heard the title (a summery bop)
