Like I said before, I feel the lead single will be out with a video, along with the cover art and preorder. and an official release date. If NFR happens in March, then the whole thing is coming out really soon (and honestly, she doesn't need to have a 2 or 3-month period between the lead single and the album: everybody knows what her work with Jack sounds like with the 3 songs out, and it's not as if she hopes for a number 1 hit on the radio (her management confirmed she is doing super well on streaming platforms and is pretty much her niche).

after having read that interview a second time: it is recent: «I was actually pretty thrilled at some of the melodies that were coming through as I was writing and just the sexy and cool all natural vibe that was shaping up within the record as I was finishing it – you always hope a low-key record feels organic and for me this one really does.» ​doesn't mean that it confirms March 29 (plans could have changed), but that interview didn't happen this fall.

I’ve read it quickly at the gym, so I could be wrong, but it doesn’t seem like an old interview, especially the par where she got asked about hope. Unless the reporter was incredibly lucky to ask about that theme when she had a song about it to be released, it seems he had heard the song. But hey, we’ll know soon enough? At some point? At least we know what her strategy is with NFR: to go minimalist and let the music speak for itself.

Put that way, the LFL pré-release era doesn’t feel that messy, and yet that’s how we felt it was. NFR is on another level I guess.

March 29 is the new May 26: might have been true st some point, but not so much anymore. Unless it’s a super fast « last stretch » before pre-release, all artists releasing lead singles these days have albums going out in April... So...

It’s true that we are not the most patient bunch. And we encourage each other on being frantic. I’m taking a break from the NFR songs at the moment : I want to be able to listen to them on the album when it is released, rather than burn them out like I did with Love and the title track form LFL.

That’s why i’m Taking a break from them at the moment. The only Lana I listen to these days is a selection of songs from each album. Last time, by the time she released LFL, I couldn’t listen to Love and the title track anymore, I had worn them out.

I agree with you on most parts. We are lucky to have her. She released six albums /EP in 8 years, which is more than most artists. NFR is shaping up to be a stunning album, and I do love the three songs we have so far. However, my only concern is how scattered and spaced everything is with this pre-release era. We are going on a 6 month+ period here, which is much more than the industry’s usual. I don’t mind that she goes mute between albums, but when she kicks things, i expect the album to be out within 5 months. Like i said before, this era has the worst of HM (no interviews) and LFL (how spaced everything was). This being said, I trust I will love NFR, but the waiting game is a bit tiring.

I don't think so. I think the poetry book is the reason why NFR is stalling. And she said before she doesn't like deluxe editions.

Between April and June is very likely. It'd be a big lol moment if she released it around May 26

Sylvia is the Heroin of NFR: it's a great track, but it feels out of place without the rest of the album and is weird as a single.

I don't expect news before next week at the earliest. Ariana is gonna grab all the attention and Marina releasing.... If HIaB is indeed the lead single (though I hope not: it sounds lovely, but she needs something a bit less acoustic maybe, as a lead?), she better hurry: March begins the Spring / summer releases, which are generally more up-beat. HIaB would feel weird as fuck as a lead single in March.

Exactly. Since UV, when the tracklist leaks, everyone thinks it’s fake. I remember people questioning the title Heroin on LFL, thinking it was « too much Lana » to be true...

I’m guessing here, but a month!?? With the LFL era, when was the video when she was doing the booklet with Neil? End of May? Early days of June?

Since UV, for all the tracklistings, when they leak, we all think they are fake and have ugly titles lol. Remember Heroin? Everyone thought it was fake and an ugly title. The titles aren’t everything to me. As long as the song’s great.

I’ve read on a FB Lana fan page that JBalwin has indeed approches her for a collab but she never replied to him.So that might not happen but the rest seems right lol

Not the best title indeed. I wonder if it’s linked in any way to the Starry-Eyed version she played on the ukulele at the children’s hospital... the melodies are super different, but both talk about stars!?!? I know it’s a stretch but I don’t love the In Your Car title either, and i’d Prefer if it was called Starry-Eyed.
