  1. January releases are always quieter releases and never do well apparently. Don’t know why February is such a bad month. But I don’t get nor like why we have an orgy of new music starting in March until June, then it gets quiet again, before the second orgy of September through November releases. No wonder nobody can have a number one for more than two weeks in a row: we are flooded with new music all the time. I like the « snippet game » she is playing with us. Keeps us on the edge and thirsty. But I don’t like that she teased so early on after MAC and VB’s release. Who would have thought that LFL’s pre-release period isn’t her actual worst? I get what you mean though: I can’t wait to see all the songs in all the right order.
  2. Could it be possible that all the snippets she teased might be her way of giving us the tracklist bit by bit, beating the retail sites who always end up leaking it and snippets a couple of days before she did it officially? UV’s tracklist got leaked by Amazon, LFL’s by another retail site, and a sampler of all the songs also... and these are the examples I can think of.
  3. http://atwoodmagazine.com/ldrhd-lana-del-rey-hope-is-a-dangerous-thing-song-review/ Praise (again) for Hope. The introduction is very nice and sums up the ever-changing « Lana character ». And for all the LFL haters, the author reminds us why LFL was a good record in Lana’s evolution, how the record was perceived outside the fan circle, before reviewing Hope itself. Would it be a good month then to release the lead single since it is a quieter month? I just want the album so damn much, it can’t believe it might actually be released between May and July, though I know it’s a possibility.
  4. I know! I made the mistake of listening to all the snippets of NFR: none of them are bad! Cinnamon and In Your Car are the ones I cannot wait to hear. The only snippet I wasn’t feeling that much was Hope, but the whole song is just stunning. This album is going to be incredible.
  5. Imagine if HTD is indeed the closing track and that she takes a break after NFR...how heart-breaking would the lines « i’m Always gonna be right here, no one’s going anywhere » be?!??
  6. I think the song will make more sense with the rest of the record. I agree with you that right now, it is not as satisfying as MAC or VB as a single. Really hope we get the lead single very soon.
  7. I see In Your Car with its strings as the opener, followed by MAC. On its own, it is a bit odd. Like Heroin: I never listen to it alone, I have to have tracks before and after. But the song will have a new resonance if something happens to you and you feel like you are tested, like I have been in the last few days. And wow, each word packs a punch. No wonder she called it a « fan track ». Besides, She knows we love sad Lana and that Heroin is a fan favorite: it’s probably the reason she chose to release Hope for us, before the lead single. I have a feeling we’ll get the preorder, cover and lead single all on the same day, with the official release date.
  8. I thought for a long time HIaB would be . Not so sure anymore.
  9. Adèle is representative of the music industry being too demanding with female singers with big voices : she must hit high notes on all her songs on record and she must also do it live for all of her shows, for a year+ when she is on tour. Adele broke her vocal chords when she was finishing her tour the last time, and it wasn’t the first time she had done so. She must have had surgery to get her chords fixed, just like the other time it happened. It could explain why we didn’t see her in a long time, plus she has a young son she must want to take care of.
  10. I have a feeling we'll get the official release date, lead single, art cover and preorder on the same day. Maybe even the tracklisting.
  11. This fan base certainly ain’t the most patient. Me included. And you are so right when you say that many have stuck to an era of her career and have a hard time moving on.
  12. We here have the best and the worse of her creative liberty with her label: Interscope seems to be a label that gives a lot of liberty and latitude to its artists when they are successful and when they deliver, which she has always done. Her managers seem to be giving advices not so much as giving her orders and directions, and I think this is what she was looking for, as a singer. Her managers know we follow her on social medias and that she will want to drop the release date on her own terms and all, even though I think it's a bit of a messy process with her (she said herself she is bad at marketing). so, on one hand, she has pretty much all the latitude to do whatever she wants musically speaking, which is great for us, but she also leads how she wants to release things, which is not perfect most of the time.
  13. Honestly, most of us don't... And I sure as hell don't care about Grammies, which are super specific as who the winners should be. But whenever she gets a #1 album, she gets more creative liberty. No way we would have had HM or even a 10-minute single / fan track is she had'nt scored 2 number 1 albums before that.
  14. Despite how everyone feels about LFL here, that album got critical acclaim and more recognition from people outside the fan circle.
  15. She has always had strong lyrics. But when she dropped with BTD, she looked like an alien in the musical landscape and people were questioning her authenticity. UV was extraordinary, but like BTD and Paradise, she wasn't saying what a female singer «should» have been saying : most pop stars are about empowerment (mostly through sex) and strength, while she was admiting she was a sad girl who was staying in her sorta abusive and toxic relationship. I always loved her BECAUSE she was not mainstream and it felt authentic to me. But after 8 years and each project solidifying her image, we all know she isn't a puppet of men or her record company. The tide began to shift with HM. Her lyrics feel really raw and introspective with NFR, and everybody knows what to expect from her. Maybe it's why she is so acclaimed with that record. That and she doesn't dwell so much in her Lolita persona.
  16. Honestly, we don't care. UV and LFL were #1 (BTD and HM were #2). But her label sure does. It's good publicity, to have a number 1 album. Plus: whenever she scores a #1, she gets more freedom to do whatever she wants. I'm not sure she would've been able to put out HM if Uv hadn't peaked at #1.
  17. It really depends which week she releases and Lana. Plus interscope only wants a number one album for the first week lol
  18. I forgot: I've been listening to HIaDT followed by VB since last week, and the two transition super well. Plus they are similar when it comes to the theme / story: she says hope is a dangerous thing to have for her, and on VB she is clearly in a relationship she wishes will work (she is hopeful). So the last three songs of the album could be: Hope, VB, then HTD (in the end, the guy is nowhere to be found, but she'll stay near).
  19. I honestly see 12 tracks for that one for 2 reasons: - VB is almost 10 minute-long. UV (standard edition) and HM both are 60-minute-ish long. To have 14 or 15 tracks, with one already 10 minute long, would make a longer record than LFL, which was super long (a couple of critics noted that it was hard to listen to it from cover to cover because of that 70 minutes+ length). - her work with Jack was more spaced (she mentioned he was coming to LA for 9 days-ish a month, for the past year) and was more planned. If they had 11 songs in September, they then had to master the whole thing, which takes time. HTD could be the 12th track, or maybe it was already added to the 11 but wasn't finished production-wise. But hey, if there are more, I won't complain: the more Lana the merrier
  20. she doesn't... but her record company surely does. She is an odd star by today's standards and she is incredibly successful despite her lack of promotion of things. Her music is what is important to her and it seems to work: she is doing super well on streaming platforms (her music is one we always go back to). But it always look good to say she has reached number 1 a couple of times. And Interscope invested in a big-ass producer with NFR: they surely want to have a number 1 record again. I see In Your Car as the opening track, followed by MAC. I sometimes see VB as the second-to-last song of the record, or centerpiece.
  21. Possible. There are also rumours Rihanna might surprise release her new record... and Ariana might release something? Or is it just new singles post-breakup? Anyways, there is always competition. But fans (whether stans or not) are really expecting NFR...
  22. Stupid... is a grower. Didn’t like it at first, but it is growing on me.
  23. AMEN! It's really something she should consider doing in the future. That or a «Unreleased Collection» made of leaked and unleaked songs, although I would prefer more double-single releases.
