Never I guess. They tried during the HM era and nothing came out of it, apparently -

Can we take a moment here to appreciate the fact that she gave us 3 "fan tracks" before the lead single? Imagine if she had only released the lead single, how dry and dead this era would have been! True, she doesn't say much officially, but the music is so damn good and consistent. -

Anything can happen when she is making a record, that part is true. But she stays mute during that time. When she teases a song with a snippet, it ends up on the album, to the exception of RBFY (but it’s no surprise since she said it didn’t make the record). Even if LFL has many songs that didn’t end up on it, she didn’t scrap everything: she tossed aside mostly the acoustic part of it, including the leaked song. But it wasn’t everything and nothing she previewed with a snippet or released as a single. -

I think Hope... is the October single: she said it standed on its own, was more thoughtful and serious. At the end of October, she posted the first snippet with the caption "FROM NFR": i think she decided to finally include it on NFR. Why are we getting this third "fan single" just now? Probably because she said she wanted the poetry book before releasing NFR. So, to me, it is a sign she is "buying some time" before kicking the whole REAL pre-release era, with the lead single. -

Even if she doesn't do the interview today, we'll hear news before that: I mean, she has the Gucci campaign kicking next week, there's the poetry book that is finished also, and she teased a new song on Dec. 31: things are pacing up a bit. Next single should drop not too long before the album, so maybe next month if the March release is real? -

If she follows the pattern of previous releases, we didn't hear the lead single yet. So maybe NFR or Bartender or something else? But I expect the lead single to feature more guitars and a bigger production than HIaDT. Though Cinnamon would be an exceptionnal single, to me, it screams "This is the Cherry of this era": we'll get it with the album. -

Oh God, no, not again! Enough with the "she'll scrap everything!" -

Funny they say Hope... might not be on NFR, since I was thinking Hope's sister track might be Happiness is a Butterfly? On another note, when you relisten to the 3 tracks out now, it screams winter album... I kinda hope she releases NFR early spring and not in May lol. But I guess the poetry book is "getting in the way" of a fast release. -

Impossible: they represent the atmosphere of the whole thing and they refer to each other, and to the title track. -

You’re the bearer of bad news, aren’t you? And didn’t you believe Hope Is a Dangerous Thing... wouldn’t be released on the 9th? Agree! In comparison, HIaB, with its bridge, is more depressing in a way than Hope is a Dangerous Thing... -

She never said they were standalone. She said they were part of a bigger project (a record), confirmed later to be NFR. The only time she mentioned a single «standing on its own» was the October single (which I suspect was Hope Is a Dangerous Thing) that she might put out. As for VB being the lead single, I'm not sure. I remember her saying it's the single she wanted to put out, but is it the lead? Don't know anymore. -

at this point, just the release date would be something. -

Correct. She said it had currently 11 songs. 12 is a possibility though: after that, she teased HTD and said it was the last song they did for the album. Only question is: was HTD already counted in the 11 back in September though it was probably still just a demo, or has it been added later on? Anyways, unless she pulls some magic trick, I don’t see NFR having more than 11 maybe 12 songs. -

She said it herself in the interview for VB. The album is named after that song -

Ok I finally got a minute to comment on the whole black narcissistic thing... i don’t say that often, but HOW DUMB ARE PEOPLE, really?!?? You’re telling me then that The Blackest Day is about civil rights movements!??? It’s racist to associate black to depression!??? Jesus Christ, I see dumb people! I wasn’t sure about the line at first, but the context makes it damn clear and it’s a good metaphor, to have depression associated to narcisistic. -

From what we’ve heard, NFR is shaping up to be an album where each songs says: “Here’s what i’ve Been wanting to tell you all this time”. Whether she is speaking to a lover or her fans or her critics. -

It is a stunning track. And honestly, if there is a video, it should be just a montage of clips of her in black and white, and not much more. This is such a personal song, and yeah, it références Sylvia Plath but this ain’t that woman’s life at all depicted here, but Lana’s (Lizzy’s?) -

Speculation here... but could Sylvia /HIaDT be the October single we were possibly getting? With that release, is it possible that we still don’t have the “lead single” that will restart the pre-release of NFR? -

Putting out a single that is almost 10 minute long, deciding to release a song that seems to be so depressive when she has at least three songs that could have been potential «radio singles»: yep, NFR is shaping up to be another «vanity project», just like she did with HM. Maybe this is where LFL was pertinent: she could say «I gave you a number 1 album with «hits», now let me do the fuck what i want with the next one»
