  1. I don't know what to think about the whole «drama» that seems to be happening with Lana lately on her insta and Twitter. She has deleted the HIaB snippet... But didn't she do the same with some LFL ones and got them up again after that? Maybe she will put ut up again... The fact that she deactivated the comments section doesn't surprise me at all... I am not a big follower of stars other than Lana, so I have nothing else to compare to, but God some of her «fans» are awful. I mean, we have the easy job: to sit here on our asses and wait for new music. She has to come up with the whole thing and she gets criticized for it more often than not. And some of her fans are just so patronizing and bullies: Do this, do that, record that, do that peculiar style, don't be happy, don't wear that, don't do that to your hair. She doesn't have to report to us in any way. If we are not happy with what we hear, we have to take the high road and unstan rather than «bully» her. the drama of expectations in pre-release is part of the fun, I get it and enjoy it, but I learned that I have to let her do her own thing, let her come through with what music she believes in at the moment, and not have my expectations too high on a date, or a peculiar style or mindset. It is only then that I am able to enjoy the new stuff coming out, though it might be different from what I had expected in the beginning.
  2. On the whole feminism thing... I always felt Lana was not hypocritical, as opposed to many female singers today. When I see girls belching lyrics like «I don't need a man» and yet they are ass-shaking and slutty looking, I call it BS and hypocritical. Lana has always been sexy and classy. I have always seen each one of her songs as «a moment in time», a portrait, a emotion lived at that peculiar time in her life. Same with her love stories. We have all had moments where we thought: «I am so much more complete when I am with him/her.» Does it mean we are pathetic and completely dependent and, if you are a woman, not a feminist? No. It is how you feel at that moment. You get on with your life after that, the relationship might end and yet, you don't die, and move on. Same with her sadder songs. It might describe a phase of her life or just a mindset for a couple of days. Her discography is a reflection of her life, moving from teenager young adult partying hard and daddy-lover to someone who has figured out who she was for the most parts. True, she doesn't have many empowering messages for women in her songs, except maybe God Bless America (which is tinted in a lot of irony, at moments). But that is because she is concentrating on telling a story, her story. Same with the LGBTQ community: she has no songs to acknowledge her gay fans or other membres of the LGBTQ community. But I am not sure I would like that if she did, if it felt forced. Her «socially aware» songs on LFL were unusual for her and yet did not feel out of place nor forced.
  3. I am not an American, and I see « the end of America » in WTWWAW as a symbol: the symbol of happiness, the American dream and all to make something for yourself. The political climate has me questioning if it is the end of peace, no matter what country we are in.
  4. I love the drama and expectation of a possible false news
  5. Love her song titles... Hope this si true
  6. Silent Lana is a recording Lana. She souldn't have teased HIaB so early on... But I prefer a dry spell for a while but when she comes back, everything will be out in a short period of time (hopefully). Honestly, the pre-sale LFL era was so hard on our nerves lol. I get that the two leaks interfered with her plans. But it dragged on for almost six months. It was unbearable. After the teaser trailer, I thought we were getting the album in a short period of time. Boy was I wrong... I expect something in June, probably a new single and a video. If she can promote LDR6 with releases similar to HM, I'd be happy. It was, to me, the best era when it came to music releases. Honeymoon teasing in June, the song in July, High by the Beach in August, the album cover and tracklisting weeks after, three promotional singles before the release on September. It was perfect.
  7. I must confess that I was not a big fan of her at the time. It's only with Paradise that I became obsessed. Her SNL performance made me «put on the breaks», thinking she couldn't sing live. But it was also the time of her life where she had a lot of stage fright. She sounds off-key, sure she is gorgeous, but she reminds me of a train-wrecked Dalida (the French singer that died in the 80s I think). Looking back on this, I believe that performance raised a lot of eyebrows, having everyone question her authenticity. That performance might have cooled everyone for a minute, but it also helped her soar gently into the stratosphere afterwards (singers that are an overnight success tend to become forgotten just as fast; I prefer how everything turned out for Lana: her fanbase grew with each era, slowly but surely). She redeemed herself so many times since. Her South American leg of the last tour alone proves it, as well as her recent albums (yes, even LFL ). She conquered the stage, learned what was her comfort zone, and tamed her demons as well. With each tour she becomes more confident and at ease. The LA to The Moon Tour shooked me so many times. She is now a force of nature to be reckoned with.
  8. She is now in a dark paradise... And she talks to Jesus (unreleased song of the same name), begging him to enter in heaven (Say yes to heaven, say yes to me...)... But although she is born to die, she will wait for her beau, in that dark paradise, because when she gets to heaven, please let her bring her man....
  9. I love how Lana changes her sound from era to era, and i loved them all. I am curious about the sound of LDR6 and i trust that if she goes in a different direction, it will be good. However, I have been listening to a lot of Cigarettes After Sex lately... And man that sound is not too far-fetched from Lana and would be perfect for her ! A cool California-vibed, dream-pop album would be the quintessence of cool. But I have little hope that this will be the sound of LDR6...
  10. "Just for the movie" could mean a lot of things. Mostly it means that she sold the rights to Lionsgate for the soundtrack. BUT if she wants to have it released on an album or as a single, she could buy the rights back... But does she want it? Is Interscope interested in that "investment"? What mostly scares me is that that song is a bit old (early 2010-ish when she wrote it, and we know how she "treats" her old stuff most of the time)... Plus she said that that song was a bit too personal, too much directed towards a friend of her. And she recycled the theme on Black Beauty. She reused LIB because she got asked for a song for the Adaline soundtrack, that then got cut from the tracklisting... So... it all comes down to if Lana and her team still believes in that song... We speculated a lot about the sound of LDR6, and it would not be too far fetched for LIB to be included on it, if the record is still about happiness and such. But the more time passes, the more I expect LIB to be on a super collection of her songs that would be released in many years from now :/
  11. Though I am super bored Lana-wise these days, I prefer silence prior to a hopefully quick releas to a never ending game of teasing (snippet, silence, single, video, two-month silence, album title, triple silence, album cover, false single that becomes real, leak, silence due to rework, second official single, I celebrate my 109th birthday, leak, official release)
  12. I honestly don't care about her looks. I mean, she always has the potential to look good in a music video, which are never as important to me as new music from her.
  13. And hints were there that her relationship was violent: he hit me and it felt like a kiss / I know very well you're bringing me down (Backfire).
  14. yeah it sounds like a bunch of many things put together. Hard to make something out of this mess.
  15. Who knows at this point? A wild rumor on Lana Addiction (Spanish FB group where pretty much all rumors turned out to be false lol) said recently that she would drop the Cherry video on her birthday - «quoting» VH1, though nothing on their website says so. I don't buy it (she seems much more concentrated on finishing songs for the next era). Plus this is the second rumor concerning something new on her birthday (LDR6 was rumored to be released there, but it seems very unlikely, since new albums get released on Fridays and her birthday is on a Wednesday I think) Somewhere in the summer, a new single with a video should drop I think. But who knows?
  16. It is. It's one of Lana's favorite magazine to promote things. But look up on they website and there is no news confirming the Lana and Marina collaboration.
  17. I wished Lana recorded a Bond song at some point... But then again, if it is for a GOOD Bond movie. Skyfall was the perfect song for the perfect Bond movie... Sam Smith's cooing syrupy ballad of him being incapable of resisting the macho all-powerfull Bond was just so wrong... And to think that Radiohead's song was not chosen over that sh*t and that Lana has not even been asked to write one... There was a rumor that 24 has been written with James Bond in mind... And I get why it would not have been chosen: Lana is clearly too "indepedant" on that one and not "needy" enough to have fitted Spectre.
  18. The HIAB snippet got us through what? 195 pages?! That new 3-second snippet should get us through 250 at least. We will all lose our shit when we hear the new single, mostly being disappointed because it won't sound like UV 2.0, or HM 2.0, or AKA 2.0, or psychedelic noirish synth pop gore violins, or won't be a Marina-Florence-FKATwig-Xtina-Britney collaboration. But hey, we all love a good drama, don't we?
  19. Not related to LDR6, but while we are on the topic of collabs, I might as well add my two cents, though I know it will be very unpopular. I thought the collabs added an extra layer to most of the songs. LFL could have been a solo song, but I love how her voice blends with Abel's. The collab on Groupie Love adds a nice touch before the final chorus. Summer Bummer could have been without the Carti guy, but i love ASAP's part. Tomorrow Never Came and BpBP would have been a bit blah without the collabs, I think. The melody on BPBP is so subtle that it needed a little boost to be good (and that one is definitely a grower). Tomorrow never Came has a nice melody, and Sean's voice, very similar to John, gives it a nice vintage touch.
  20. I find it so funny that on Insta, people are already dissing the "new sound" and "poor lyrics" of LDR6... over a 3-second snippet heard in the background. Lana songs need to be heard completely and they are linked one to another on an album. When the LFL snippets surfaced, I was not convinced by some of the songs heard at first (the snippet for WtWWAW was so badly chosen), but I love all of them now. Would any of us ahve loved Heroin after a 30-second snippet, yet alone a 3-second one?!!
  21. Don't know what it is exactly... And it is so short lol
  22. People who smoke weed on a regular basis tend to be less motivated. Weed is a big downer when taken regularly. It's proven scientifically. I'm not saying Lana is never smoking pot, I'm not saying it's the same for everyone (I dated a guy who smoked every day and was almost functioning normally, for the most parts), but let's look at her schedule: she never stops. I doubt that, at 30, she could keep that busy schedule and be constantly on drugs. True, many rock and roll artists in the past have been drug users all of their lives, but then again, look at her schedule. A big party night is way harder to get over when you are 30+. I also see Lana as a melancholic kinda of person; weed everyday would bring her down drastically, I think. Of course, I only speculate, and I don't have facts from her recent personal life to back this up.
  23. I agree. Plus she is always working like a madwoman. If she was always high, we would still be waiting for LFL at this point lol
  24. Lana slayed, Blake Lively looked royal, Chadwick Boseman was stunning (kinda rare for a guy, to stand out in formal wear), Frances McDormand was regal... Really hated Rihanna "sexy pope" look, Ariana Grande's big bow on her head (my sister had the same curtains in her bedroom when she was 8 lol), and there were too many ladies looking like the Queen of Hearts rather than a caholic symbol lol
  25. Well, if she releases a new song called "Wings on my head", we'll know what her inspiration was for that one It'd be so freaking cool, if she released the Mary (scared of me) song at some point
