  1. Well, I created one hell of a sh** show, with the counting of the albums lol... The reason I asked is because I had always thought she had put out four albums: BTD (with Paradise), UV, HM and LFL. But then again, when Interscope began promoting LFL with the single Love, they officially stated that LFL was going to be album #5... And I was like: ????? I always thought Paradise was a along EP, the continuation of BTD, even if its storytelling was a thing on its own in my mind... (On BTD, she retells her stories coming out of teenage and coming into adulthood, where she is a melancholic NYC girl in love with old Americana and older, dangerous dudes; Paradise tells her departure from the territory of her youth, going away, in the west, to find happiness through fame and career and love). And then again, it would be weird for Interscope to count AKA as an official album, since they did not produce it... Anyways, I love Lana's work, and whatever LDR6 is (LP, EP, a new term on its own), I will be there for it.
  2. We don’t how Lana’s team counts the albums. To count AKA as LDR1 would be weird since it is not accessible anymore; Paradise is considered an EP, but with 9 songs, is it still an EP? True, it is the continuation of BTD, but its narrative is clearly one of an album.
  3. She said to L'Officiel USA that she is writing a Broadway musical with Rick... Maybe this is about her in some way... UV had more to do with a "political decision" than a delayed one: Dan Auerbach had an album coming out the same date (May 1). Their respective record companies must have thought it was not a good idea to have the two released on the same day. And Interscope wanted a number 1 album, so it had to be pushed back to a date where there were no major releases.
  4. Fingers crossed this is true... we’ll see.
  5. About those snippets of Bartender... We’ll see if these turn out to be a real song. Lana loves to toy around while she writes, improvising and flipping things around. How many versions of Summer Bummer are there, for example? She seems to have a general feeling of what the song is about, she writes and records parts of it and then plays with those (the general idea of Summee Bummer was desire and obsession). LFL (the song) has seen its verses and choruses flipped when she worked with Max Martin. So if this is really Bartender she played over the tour, I don’t think that this is the final version of the song, maybe just a certain feeling of what this is about (to wait for someone).
  6. I wouldn’t mind a record made of more stripped down songs like BAR or Yosemite (that we know of) or HisB, combined with a little more « upbeat » or chill - California - vibes ones. That would be a cool summer album.
  7. Coming out of the Lana closet: - I love how Lana's voice blends with Sean's on TNC; - Coachella is not a bad song IMO, maybe not as polished as the ones we are used to, but there is a context; - I think LFL's production (the song) is perfect as it is, and I don't want to hear the «Blade Runner» demo; - LFL (the album) is not as messy and as incoherent as everybody think it is, and I love all the songs on it, in the order they are; - I think LFL (album again) will be better understood with the next one, which should be the answers to the questions raised on LFL; - I think Carmen is the most «meh» song on BTD (not a bad one, but I can live without); - Florida Kilos is not my favorite bonus track on UV (Is This Happiness, Flipside and Black Beauty are); - I find HM as good as UV. I stand by my choices, as unpopular as they are.
  8. Thanks for filtering it up... We can hear better the background Yeah it could be Lana... And it sounds good...or am I just craving for new music and I am hallucinating her voice? I must say that the Miles Kane song disappointed me... Not that it's a bad song, on the contrary, but Lana's voice would have been perfect on that retro-sounding song. And she has been too absent on her recent collabs (BORNS, Jonathan Wilson, Miles Kane...). Even if it also shows her kindness and humility (she accepted to have a background vocal rather than a whole verse or chorus, in order to respect the composer's decision and vision).
  9. Technicolor Dream would be a great song title I honestly think that the name of the new record will have something to do with the continuation of LFL, kinda Paradise Edition was the continuation of BTD. (Lust for Life- Happiness is a Butterfly Edition?!?! A bit long, though)
  10. On facebook : facebook.com/ascap and Insta: @ASCAP Live stream from the red carpet starting at 6pm Pacific Time
  11. It’s only a quote from the president Of ASCAP, about LDR: « her art is like being in a technicolor dream where endless posiblity is the only rule » It’s in the ASCAP website I think, explaining why they chose to honour her.
  12. didn't read anywhere it would, but reporters love to quote highlights of the speeches when there are some. anyway, it is a big honor. For a girl who got noticed for less than a decade, she accomplished so much, putting out a very strong and coherent body of work that feels both fresh and classic, eclectic and cohesive. She always stays true to her vision, evolves while embracing her past, and her fanbase is getting bigger with each release. Bravo, queen!
  13. We are waiting for our girl to release some sort of info of any kind lol... We will have something to talk about in a few hours, with her receiving the ASCAP Global Impact award. I don'T expect anything to be said about LDR6, but we will comment her dress and maybe her speech lol
  14. The initial production of Blue Jeans sounded like Wicked Game, according to Lana. I don't get the whole HM (the album) hate at all, to be honest. It is one of her most cohesive and well put together, along UV.
  15. One of her most «James-Bond» ones, like Shades of Cool. 24 is just superb in its composition and execution. I fell in love instantly with it the first time I heard it.
  16. I will also add, although i know i will get stones thrown at me, that Coachella is not a bad song at all, and i get what she was feeling when she wrote it. She was coming out of Coachella and when you get out of a 3-day music festival (I did Osheaga in Canada multiple times, Coachella's little sister festival), your energy is through the roof and yet you are serene at the same time. You have discovered so much over the few hours that it music is pouring through you. Plus remember that she was in a really good mood because of a certain rapper lol. And the next day, Trump and Korea were pretty much seeing head to head in that nuclear thing. So imagine the mix of the two: you are quite happy and in a «peace and love situation» and yet, war is imminent. It's a weird feeling. I was myself very scared the few days following the tension climbing. i get that she wanted to «do something about it», to write about that duality. True, its production relies a bit too much on the trap beats. But also keep in mind that that song was not supposed to be included on the track listing of LFL, but was mostly supposed to be a stand-alone single to be released at that peculiar moment in time. It was included when she decided to add the other collabs (surely the ASAP Rocky ones), and when her thing with G-Eazy went down the drain (In My Feelings, anyone?). Coachella fits on the album with all the new inclusions added. i love the build up, though very subtle: I will never sing again, and you won't work another day... It will be our swan song.
  17. I didn't like Swan Song that much the first months after HM came out. Then I had a super rough day at work, dragging on to be a super rough week. I was coming home in my car, listening to HM, and then Swan Song came on and it was... just what I was feeling and needed. Lana's voice is so soothing on that one... And I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy that track and now I love it. There are some Lana songs we love at first, then there are the ones that are good but become so much more interesting after a few listens. And then there are the ones that need to grow on you. Mostly we fall in love with them when you are feeling a certain way, living a certain situation, and Lana just sings what you are thinking at that moment.
  18. Not relevant to the subject, but I really love how campy Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood is. I love Nina's version as well, but Lana made that song hers.
  19. I'd really love a studio version of Scarborough Fair.
  20. I trust her to have the song released if it's any good. Unlike many people here, i think her collabs on LFL really add a little something more to those songs and the voices blend well. If the song is bad, it will get the «Mark Ronson treatment» and get scrapped. I don't love all of Lana's unreleased stuff, honestly. Some parts and songs really sound very «demo-ish» while others should have had a proper release, as a B-Side to a single, for example. And some songs just sound almost «childish»: she clearly was younger when she wrote those and don't surpass the «cute» stade IMO.
  21. Yeah, I know. He and his followers don't understand the decision from Lana's management, calling them greedy and unfair and all. These guys need to understand what intellectual propriety is lol.
  22. Not relevant to the new album and all, but Honeymouns on Insta was asked by Lana's management to shut down his account and never open a new one of the same kind. Oops.
  23. I'd pay for an official HQ for most of those songs, especially the ones she did recently (The UV outtakes and all). If the production feels unfinished or dated, she should rework them.
  24. Life is beautiful, Yosemite, Roses Bloom for You, all the new titles she talked about for the new record... Some of her leaked stuff would be so wonderful on an official record, especially the UV outtakes (Your Girl )
  25. When you go check the iTunes store once in a while just in case there is another good remix of her old songs (which is almost never the case) or a surprise unannounced release :S also when you get all hyped over a 30-second snippet of a new song. also when you see her leaving the studio and expect a new album coming out in the next weeks
