There's no way Let the Light In and Candy Necklace won't be in my top five

Just now, LifeOnMars said:TT and Peppers have Mike Hermosa writing credits as well. Didn’t she say the album started with him?
Oh yeah! I just ruled those two out because she mentioned orchestral arrangements

About Candy Necklace: I think her and Jon probably recorded a few songs, and she was probably indecisive about which track to put on the record. Rosemead, BoZ, and Kintsugi have all talked about the song, so I don't think it was too last minute

Just now, taco truck said:SpoilerOoh, if that's true, I can see some dashes of Kintsugi in there as well since I know she namedrops him in that song

Just now, taco truck said:and we know Margaret is the last one recorded, if I had to make a guess, I would say that Taco Truck x VB, Peppers, and Sweet would probably indicate where she's going next

Just now, taco truck said:i really want to know the recording dates for the tracks... i feel like that will really help us piece together the narrative of the album and the mood she might possibly be in for the next one
I remember reading her album thank you note and I think we decided on Ocean Blvd, Fingertips, The Grants, and Let the Light In were the first recorded songs!

Did we ever get confirmation that Candy Necklace was added late?

anyway, I’m really intrigued by the sequencing on this album. Like the “bops” seem to be in the back half - which is rare for most albums, not even just Lana. I wonder how much thought went into that or if it’s just the random order she went with lol
I know not many people agree with this, but I wonder how much she thought about the vinyl sides with arranging this album's tracklist; I think it's super coincidental that the first four are pretty grand and epic sounding, the next four seem to be darker and more eerie, then a handful of four sweeping and emotionally heavy songs, and then four bops. I think it would be interesting to know how she ordered the tracklist.

I don't know what to make of BoZ deactivating his Twitter. Maybe the surprise changed/got pushed back and he doesn't want to deal with the backlash?

I really hope it's some sort of long form video that will be posted on oceanblvd or like Ocean Blvd (6AM Psycho Lifeguard edition)

My guess is Candy Necklace

Finally, one of the few YouTube reactors I actually like despite some of her interpretations being a little off base sometimes

I'm the biggest Blue Banisters warrior on this forum, but she already topped it when she released "Did you know that there's a tunnel under ocean blvd" in December, and cleaned up all the crumbs with "A&W."

Just now, Jeanne Dielman said:I interpreted this differently. I thought he meant that the surprise doesn't have anything to do with the existing/known Ocean Blvd tracks (a MV or a live performance of a single or something like that). But, yeah, this is very confusing.
Interesting! If so, I definitely see her dropping 5-6 songs that didn't make the cut
-
Just now, Jeanne Dielman said:BOZ said that the surprise is not related to a "new music project". And Kintsugi told us that he doesn't want to reveal much, but the surprise is tied with "new music" and it is worth the wait. What could be new music but shouldn't be considered as a new music project? Definitely not unofficially released/leaked/unreleased stuff. And most definitely not a brand new album.
I think that @American Whore may be right. We might get the bonus tracks/deluxe edition/b-sides of DYKTTATUOB. It's not a "new music project" and it could explain: a) BOZ being personally happy about it (didn't he tell us that she changed the tracklist several times? He might have dug tracks that didn't make the cut; Candy Necklace was a last-minute addition after all), b) the "pearl watch me on ring a bell psycho lifeguard" part of the original album title - apparently titles of 4-5 songs that seem to have not been featured on the lyrics of any tracks so far (paging @fl0r1dakil0s for help!).
This is what I initially thought for a while, but the only part I'm skeptical of is that BoZ said it doesn't have to do with Ocean Blvd tracks.

I can see it being the documentary given how diaristic Ocean Blvd is, alongside some outtakes and B-sides throughout the years

Love you, Lana, but I will not be joining you on your acting career. I wish you the best of luck, though.

To me it sounds like I’m sitting in a small theatre with the screen randomly cutting to these flashbacks of Lana throughout her life and all the happiest and saddest core memories, almost like a mix of rewinding or slowing down and speeding up. The melody is absolutely beautiful.
I know there’s not really any happy parts to this song, but even just the simple things she says like twisting limes into the drinks or sitting by the lake. It’s like she envisioned this life with a boy who ended up dead, and got sent away just because her mother didn’t know how or even bother to help her process it all. Just sent her away. And in the end it kind of explains everything she’s ever written about. It sounds like it all happened very fast too, I just can’t imagine losing your lover and basically your mom and going somewhere completely unfamiliar to you.
sorry I wrote more than expected but yeah it just puts me in my feels lol. I feel like this song is really just about her loss of innocence she’s always mentioned so it’s all coming full circle with this record. She’s really letting us get to know her better and I love and appreciate that so much.Perfectly stated

3 minutes ago, Im a ghost now said:Alright, you don’t need to like Fingertips, it really is more of a poem than a song, it’s not for everyone, it doesn’t have the catchiest melody ever, but let’s not be disrespectful to it by saying it’s boring or a bad song especially considering that
It’s about the death of a loved one, yearning to have a child, traumatic events that happened to Lana when she was a teen and suicidal ideation
Those are tough subjective matters, and Fingertips is the song that came out of it. It is what it is and like… I understand that it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, it’s ok. But can we not be insensitive?Retweet.
