And sometimes opinions change!!! Especially when something new and different from the same artist comes and it’s just as experimental as something like UV. UV changed Lana’s sound from what she started off sounding like on BTD, which isn’t bad. I’ve been in the “UV & HM” over all group and I can honestly say this album gives me the chills I felt when I first listened to UV & HM. There’s something special to it for me personally and I can tell it means a lot to Lana & Jack. It’s just such a cool project and we’re finally getting to listen in on it and it feels so special.
Thanks for this! This is exactly where I'm coming from.

I think there's two types of Lana fans, ones that like the UV album and those who like BTD and LFL. BTD and LTF are more catchy and light on a subject level. UV and HM seem to be darker and following a theme.
I agree! I would say that I'm a part of the latter group. UV and HM have been two of my favorite albums for years. I just wish people would learn to not take their opinions so seriously and apply them to everyone. I really don't need to listen to Ultraviolence and Honeymoon any more times lol

Hey. To the ones saying NFR has already "topped UV and HM". I think the songs released aren't bad and bland as many expected, but they sound anyway quite experimental and embrionary in artistic terms. The production has nice elements to it, but isn't actually consistent. Her voice and her writing clearly aren't at her best. Go and relisten UV and HM, as I'm doing. It helps to not make a precipitate judgement on NFR based mostly on the drought that we have had gone through to get some new songs.
When I say that I think the new songs have topped UV and HM, I'm speaking subjectively and based on my perspective. It's nothing authoritative. These songs so far have a different atomosphere that really resonates with me more than the content on Ultraviolence and Honeymoon. You think that her songwriting isn't at her best, I think some of these songs are her most well written in years. I don't need to go back and listen to them again, because I've heard them enough times to form my own opinion about new music.

I don't get the hate for LFL... is it just because the tone wasn't completely dark and depressing? Granted I was disappointed about Beautiful People, but there were so many good songs on there. Love, WTWWAW, Heroine, such good songs IMO.
My biggest issue with it is how random the songs were. It felt like multiple EP's put together

Doin' Time coming right after Fuck It I Love You where she sings about shooting up heroin was...a choice that maybe didn't have to be made

So FIILY is a sad song?? Haven't heard it but from what I saw it doesn't seem much happy despite being upbeat from the snippet
I don't think it's sad in tempo per say, but lyrically it is pretty dark.

Y’all really think the greatest is better than fuck it I love you, ok
Yes, because we're allowed to have differing opinions. Just letting you know if you haven't gotten the memo by this age

I am overwhelmed by the song. It's truly spectacular.
It really is. I've always believed in her, but NFR feels like her life's work has been heading to this moment.

girl are you me. I literally went two glasses of moscato deep before listening to it
Usually not a big drinker, but I may as well be if alcohol just makes all of these NFR 1000x better

I'm really nervous when I hear everyone say that this will be her best album, I'm just not ready. I'm not prepared. I feel like I'll listen to it and throw up because it will shake my world so hard and it will be so emotionally stimulating that it will push me to a big mood swing ):
I was packing my things to go back to University tomorrow when I put on The Greatest for the first time, and I had to sit down because of the chills. I'm such a mess and definitely not prepared either.

Got home and finally listened to it...The lyrics are amazing and the whole production is so fucking good!!!! That outro too, the guitar solo, her voice, fuck!!
NFR really gonna take the throne of her discography huh? August 30th hurry THE FUCK UP!!!!
TASTE.
The day MAC dropped I knew we would have a contender to push UV/HM off the throne, but I didn't expect to be this enamored with the new music.

SERIOUSLY! I know I'm just an insane stan but I'm confident that this album is going to secure her status as one of if not the best songwriter of our generation.
But I also thought Artpop was going to be a massive success so I'm gonna tread lightly...
Didn't Pitchfork call her a poet for a generation? God, I love her.

does anyone have the lyrics for The Greatest? I'd like to read them
I miss Long Beach and I miss you babe
I miss dancing with you the most of all
I miss the bar where the Beach Boys would go
Dennis's last stop before Kokomo
Those nights were on fire
We couldn't get higher
We didn't know that we had it all
But nobody wants you before the fire
I'm wasted
Don't leave, I just need a wake-up call
I'm facing the greatest
The greatest loss of them all
The culture is lit and I had a ball
I guess I'm signing off after all
I miss New York and I miss the music
Me and my friends‚ we miss rock and roll
I want shit to feel just like it used to
When baby‚ I was doing nothing the most of all
The culture's lit and if this is it‚ I had a ball
I guess that I'm burnt out after all
I'm wasted
Don't leave, I just need a wake-up call
I'm facing the greatest
The greatest loss of them all
The culture is lit and I had a ball
I guess that I'm burnt out after all
If this is it, I'm signing off
Miss doing nothing‚ the most of all
Hawaii just missed that fireball
L.A. is in flames, it's getting hot
Kanye West is blonde and gone
Life on Mars ain't just a song
Oh, the livestream's almost on

It's totally okay! and I apologize if my post came across as rude or snarky in any way. I just think we all approach music in different ways and find a variety of things that resonate with us; whether that be lyricism, production, etc. I'm just glad that Lana has made records that speaks to different people.
