  1. when they try to extrapolate some small intention or even get your attention for a minute or two to their 5/5 scores from 3,000 users
  2. If Ben and Ed want this album to REALLY be acclaimed, it needs to be Candy Necklace or Grandfather a week prior to the album.
  3. Kintsugi, Grandfather, Fingertips...I've never been more excited for Lana songs than those three. In terms of cohesion, I don't think this album will be very cohesive in terms of sound, but in terms of the spiritual motifs and of consciousness songwriting, it absolutely will be a cohesive body of work!
  4. As a literature grad student, I approve this message. A&W is her The Sound and the Fury.
  5. In my opinion, having no music videos would add another cool dimension to this era. Truly like the album is her diary and the lyrics speak for themselves.
  6. I think we'll get a single a week before the album. Do I want another single? Not really. But it's very clear their strategy this album is to just let the music speak for itself.
  7. Just went on my daily run and listened to A&W and Black Bathing Suit back to back...it reaffirmed by belief that Ocean Blvd will be a natural progression from that song. Super, super pivotal song in Lana's songwriting process, despite its lyrical hiccups.
  8. 1. Fingertips 2. Let the Light In 3. Candy Necklace 4. Kintsugi 5. Taco Truck x VB 6. Grandfather, please stand on the shoulders of my father while he deep sea fishes 7. Paris, Texas 8. Fishtail 9. The Grants 10. Peppers 11. Margaret 12. Sweet 13/14. Interludes
  9. just doing this off of memory because I'm too lazy to look it up, but I believe his top five looked something like this: Grandfather, please stand on the shoulders of my father while he deep sea fishes A&W Let the Light In The Grants Fingertips Kintsugi and Margaret are his bottom two in that order.
  10. Still think Kintsugi and Fingertips will be the most polarizing tracks on the record, but the songs that I love the most. It's been a pattern with me over the past few records, starting with Norman.
  11. Grandfather is the exception because both insiders said it does not feel short at all, and it is exactly 4 minutes
  12. I'm at that point where if I see that a Lana track is less than four minutes, I already know that I won't enjoy it as much in comparison to longer, more fleshed out tracks. She needs to give room to let her creativity unfold. Her longest tracks are without a doubt her best work to date. So sorry to Sweet and Paris, Texas, I'm sure you'll be cute girls!!
  13. The third verse of this song is an undeniable career highlight. Just like the second verse of Ocean Blvd. WOW. There's a girl who sings "Hotel California" Not because she loves the notes or sounds that sound like Florida It's because she's in a world, preserved, only a few have found the door It's like Camarillo, only silver mirrors, running down the corridor I mean, look at my hair, look at the length of it there and the shape of my body If I told you that I was raped, do you really think that anybody would think I didn’t ask for it, didn’t ask for it? Didn’t testify, already fucked up my story Top of this (Mm) So many other things you can’t believe Did you know a singer can still be lookin’ like a side piece at thirty-three? God’s a charlatan, don’t look back, babe Puts the shower on while he calls me Sneaks out the back door to talk to me I’m invisible, look how you hold me I’m invisible, I’m invisible I’m a ghost now, look how you hold me now UNREAL!
  14. Elle, or any mods, can someone please help me or give me tips to resizing images for avatars to fit the max file capacity for the site Nevermind, figured it out, but to anyone else struggling with avatars ( @West Coast ) Free JPG, PNG Compressor with the Best Quality (fonepaw.com) is the best!
  15. The detail that Kintsugi shared that made my excitement for a particular song increase tenfold was the note that Candy Necklace is a "massive song" Candy Necklace was at the bottom of my anticipated list, now it's top five. I originally thought it would turn out to be another Watercolor Eyes
  16. I think most of the album will be written with the stream of consciousness lyric style. In terms of song structure, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that BoZ said all of the longer songs on the album (Kintsugi, Fingertips, Taco Truck, A&W) break away from conventional song structures. Even the title track has three verses instead of a bridge However, I think there will be conventionally written songs in "Sweet," "Paris, Texas," and "Margaret."
