What really sucks is the same people who complained will now go to Twitter and want her to perform there. (Not @@I Come In Peace, not you, I’m so sorry your show was cancelled. Keep your mind positive and you’ll bring her positivity there.) it really sucks when people make plans to see someone sing or perform and they end up cancelling. Imagine if you had an interview with a huge job opportunity and then the interviewer said “Nah my employees don’t want me to interview you, sorry don’t come in.” Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like anyone actually changed her mind but her schedule, and if anything, she was giving a middle finger to everyone trying to tell her how to run her business. Very feministic move on her part, given that most that were bitching were men hahahahaha

Rick isn’t bad. I think she needs to work with more producers and let other people play with her music too. It’d be cool to hear another Dan Auerbach x Lana. Kid Cudi would be a cool producer for her to work with, he makes such weird/different music. Lil Silva would actually be really cool too. Just anyone but Dr Luke and I don’t think she’d ever do that because he’s too generic and everything he makes sounds so much alike it’s almost like everything he’s made is the same song over and over. Honestly I’d like to hear what her band could come up with without Rick or Dan or Emile or anyone. Just playing around on their instruments.

I really love these two and would love to hear a dark track from them both but idk what theme Marina’s record will be or what Lana’s working on so a collab could be on either one at this point. I think Marina said hers was done but maybe Lana wants her on her album? It’d be cool; she collabed with Stevie which I never expected to actually happen and Sean, John’s son, was what I never knew I wanted but loved hearing because it sounded so similar to John and as close to a Beatles collab she could probably get without Paul

It’s only been a month since that was posted lol it’s coming I’m sure. If not that or HIAB, we’ll get some kind of new music soon. I’m sure that’s why she’s been silent for so long. I remember after Ultraviolence released, she did an interview and she was asked about what she wants to do after this record and she was saying something about having the next one planned and she was thinking her best time frame between album cycles is 15-16 months. We all know this woman says a lot of things she doesn’t mean but, between UV and HM, it was 15 months. June 2014 to Sept 2015. That was the right time frame, she had herself planned out it seemed. Between HM and LFL, it was 21 months between Sept 2015 and July 2017. That one was delayed if she PLANNED out another one for the same time frame. I remember her having more material for LFL and going back in the studio a few times more for other songs and then she cut some of her favorites off the final cut. I wonder if she worked on anything on the road like when she wrote Coachella... has anyone heard anything about her silence?

And like I said in a previous post, it’s one thing to do things because you find it cool. Fashion is art. People laughing? Well, that’s their own personal problem. What I don’t understand is when people wear their hair braided and someone gets “offended” or upset because “my ancestors had that hairstyle!!!!” Thats bullshit. If you go to Africa or any country wherever the fuck and ask the people there, they won’t give two flying fucks what you do with your hair. It’s a minute “problem”. People who get upset are the problem. Who gives a fuck what someone does with their hair? Why is hair such a big fucking deal? It just doesn’t make sense and it’s a reach to say certain hairstyles are only found in certain parts of the world because we all have hair. Everyone. What makes me confused is the racial part of it all. Just because she’s white, she’s being pointed at and told she can’t wear her hair like that. Then that point becomes moot when a black woman on a fashion runway wears blonde, straight extensions or dyes their hair blonde (and yes, some black people have naturally blonde hair, it’s very very few and far between.) Yet, white people cant be on a runway with braids. That just doesn’t make sense. I get it, it’s “more appealing because it’s more white”. No. Fuck that. It’s at fault on the designer’s part for dressing up models certain ways. (Literally happened in Empire, i just watched an episode about a situation like this)

The one thing I don’t agree with is “braids from African root” uhhhh..... Africans aren’t the only ethnicity to braid their hair. And dreads aren’t racially specific either. Hairstyles are what people need to calm the fuck down about imo. It’s hair. Especially braids, people have been braiding their hair in ancient Asia, Greece, Vikings did it, Native Americans did it. The whole hair thing needs to die

I just don’t understand the concept of getting annoyed that someone is embracing a culture. What’s crazy is in America, there’s so many cultures and so many different cultures in different parts of the country, yet people get offended EVEN IF IT ISNT THEIR CULTURE SOMEONE IS “appropriating”. It’s one thing to try to change a culture and use that as a way to solely make money but it’s another when someone embraces a culture because they artistically find it cool. I think that’s what Lana does, I think she embraces cultures because she has fans of different cultures and she recognizes it. There’s so many people from the UK, South America, the US, Eurasia, etc. She knows this and I think she enjoys traveling the world and experiencing more of the lives of the people in these countries. “Appropriating” is only ever a thing when it’s convenient, I swear. I never hear anyone say anything until it’s convenient for a conversation. That doesn’t go to say it’s not happening, but appropriation of culture =/= embracing a culture
