  1. i don't care for a lot on the list this year. i might grab Titty Swift, I know my bf will want Yes. Maybe the T. Rex album. Rolling Stones would be good (I think i've gotten all of their recent 2020-current RSD releases). Brian Eno, Elton John... I hate when they do regional exclusive releases. Just make more and send them across multiple regions??? Like... ELP is doing a UK only picture disc Brain Salad Surgery release and in 2021 they did a UK exclusive Black Sabbath / Master of Reality on purple vinyl I'm only disappointed because there's not anything I feel I'd be missing out on if I didn't go. Like I usually like to show up early outside of the record shop and be there like... 5AM but I feel like going that early would be redundant for this year's releases. There's not a lot of newer stuff on the list. The big names are all from the 60s-80s, which is totally fine! I love a lot of that too, but I'd like to see newer artists other than Taylor being there. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard would've been fine, but The Cure? Chief Keef? a Post Malone single? meh, idk.
  2. shorter if it leaks idc if it leaks i bought the album twice already and will be buying it another 3 times so she got her coin outta me already
  3. not to say that the videos are bad or shouldn't be made, i'm just saying, i don't think they're necessary in 2023 like they were when artists didn't have social media. it's not 2004 anymore
  4. I said this before and I'll say it again, I think this record is reaching into those dark places a lot of us have wanted Lana to go towards again and that typically turns out to be some of her best work. It's shaping up to be an unmeant follow up to UV and I'm so fucking here for it. Idc if it doesn't turn out to be in that style of rock sounds i just want that style of writing from Lana again. Honeymoon saw a direction of her lyrics straying from that dark style, more light and fun, with some dark lyrics like The Blackest Day and then ever since LFL, it seems like she's had small tinges of darkness, but it's more far and few between. If this album turns out totally different from what I'm thinking but it still has the level of writing that Hope had or A&W or TUOB has, I'd be content and happy with that. Her lyrical structure thus far from this album seems a step up from things like Love Song or Dance Till We Die or Beautiful or Violets for Roses. Don't get me wrong, I like those tracks and they're fine, but I want that rich, poetic lyricist back and I think we're getting it again Remember Get Free she said out of the black into the blue? I like to think of it like this (your opinion may differ): AKA - black BTD - blue UV - black HM - blue LFL - blue NFR - blue COCC - black BB - blue with grey tinges DYCKTATTOO - black
  5. I could see some of the footage from The Trio's video part being used for the Jimmy part of this song though, dancing in a hotel, maybe at the end with her driving and giving the finger with the last "fucking up big time" Honestly, there's already so much footage that could be repurposed for this if she really wanted to bad enough but yeah, no i agree. I don't think we need a video, the image is already painted clear as day with the lyrics so
  6. giiiiiirl i don't even know or care what's happening or who's right or wrong, i'm just gonna enjoy it i'll stay out of this one this time, not my fight
  7. more importantly, why does anyone care about music videos? i mean, i get it adds to an album but it's not 2004 anymore
  8. i could not imagine how this would sound on acid
  9. we know, people here took to using it during LFL and NFR eras for some reason, not sure why but.... yeah it's annoying
  10. With how dark this album has been and the themes she's touching on, it feels like this album may be a true follow up to UV, the UV 2.0 we've kind of been begging for for years. The sound doesn't match UV exactly, but it seems very fitting that the cover is in black and white, shot by Neil again, and she's back to writing about darker themes. Also, I have to admit, her songwriting seems to be even better here and I'm not trying to say that A&W is her best song ever, but for me, it's up there. It, by miles, surpasses everything she did with BB and COCC for me. I love COCC and like BB enough I guess (I like BB better than LFL) but the writing on this album has been so well done from what we've heard. The title track alone, with her comparing herself to a tunnel that's been designed with beauty in mind but yet, has been closed off and forgotten... It kind of goes hand in hand with what we've heard from here both on this album and other albums too. It's like she's invisible. She says it that way in A&W and almost shows a reflection of what she talks about in Yosemite ("it's not like i'm invisible, not like I was before when i was burning at both ends"), now we're seeing why she feels she was burning at both ends. This is truly shaping up to be a top tier, fan favorite record methinks I've been thinking about this too, actually. I've been listening to it and it's cute and fun, but underneath it all there's bits where it's really dark and twisted. There's that random jarring sound toward the end and she screams in the background and everything is layered so well to make it seem this way. Also, the lyrics "Shimmy shimmy coco bop" remind me of when we were kids and would do the hand slap games, which follows back to the idea of her childhood. This is a stretch too, but thinking about those hand slap games remind me of UV (title track, "he hits me and it felt like a kiss")
  11. Yeah, I know, but isn't that also a known thing? That Jimmy is a nickname for one of them from the other as of recent years? See, this is what's interesting. It makes me wonder if it's self-reflective. Maybe her fun, creative self only loves her when she gets high or whatever that could be a metaphor of. Maybe she doesn't literally mean get high. And it could put into context the "Your mom called, I told her, you're fucking up big time" lyric, as in she's talking to herself? Hmm Idk. I'm just having a late night new song reflection think
  12. yall think there's any possibility she ends up announcing another album for this fall after this drops? 2021 style? i mean personally i doubt it but i think when this drops, she'll give a magazine interview saying she's got ideas for the next one and then we'll be put into a pre-pre release thread again. but i hope she does decide this is the year to do 2 albums again. ooo or maybe we get an ep called Pearl Watch Me on Ring a Bell Psycho Lifeguard. omg Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd: The Pearl Watch Me on Ring a Bell Psycho Lifeguard Edition
  13. she really said "let me tell my goddamn story and make u shake ur ass a lil bit too" this album is going to fuck us all up
  14. the new song button changed from ocean blvd to aw now so they changed that also
  15. i wonder if the vinyl stickers will be different with each variant
