so far, this album is giving me bartender, fine china, religion, & talking like an answering machine vibes (i know it hasn’t leaked but it feels correct) with a breezy, honeymoon-esque atmosphere, & the luscious darkness of paradise

she has such a beautiful mind swan song & coney island acknowledgement ldr9 seems very interesting so far… the lyrics are giving me “talking like an answering machine” vibes

i believe the instrumental was done by rick nowels? idk if lana’s vocals are voice memos or were actually recorded in a studio, but either way, it’s very rough manifesting more of these rough & elusive lust for life outtakes

this thread is so obnoxious we haven’t even heard the song yet, all we know is that lana & jack were in the studio & they played around with vocals, pianos, & 808s, it’s ridiculous to automatically assume the song is going to suck because it has a piano, or if it’s produced by jack antonoff, let’s not forget that he is perfectly capable of making exciting & quality songs, venice bitch, fuck it i love you, cinnamon girl, the greatest, white dress, chemtrails, tulsa jesus freak, dark but just a game, & dance till we die are all songs which credit jack as a producer which aren’t boring piano ballads, the discussion of the mixing is another discussion, but let’s not act as if jack antonoff is some talentless hack because lana’s not delivering the kind of music you want from her, we’re almost 4 albums in with this mellow, low-key sound & style, maybe it’s time for some of you guys to accept that you just don’t like her new music & stop throwing a tantrum whenever jack’s name is mentioned, we’re all allowed to have differences in opinions but at this point, it’s becoming redundant & annoying

emghw v2 is probably one of my all-time favorites, it’s such a great, quality song in general, especially for something unreleased, & it’s so happy & celebratory, but it’s also quite bittersweet & a little somber, there’s quite a few lyrics that add this somber, almost haunting layer to this song, which is on the surface, cheerful, happy, & perky gonna see it all before he says goodbye you said i’d never make it out of here alive, at the rate i was going, i’d be lucky to die we’re gonna party like we’re running out of time never do belong to anyone, i find, leaving everything i ever knew behind interestingly enough, i feel like the general vibe of these lyrics remind me of summertime sadness, mixing opulence & happy times with the bittersweet inevitability of death & a mysterious & ambiguous “end”, a sense of oblivion despite all of the lights & cheer… much to think about…

she was a waitress when she was 19, it’s mentioned a lot in white dress i don’t really know what “every man gets his wish” means either, perhaps it means that every man is destined for greatness, such as luxury, success, talent, & love? idk i aspire to be as eclectic & mysterious as her
