Gramma (Blue Ribbon Sparkler Trailer Heaven)
Dark Angel replied to Your Girl Lana's topic in AKA Lizzy Grant
i was listening to this earlier as i was listening to the album & it’s so interesting, it’s playful & adventurous, yet their’s a solemn, sordid undertone, for the longest time, i interpreted the lyric “gramma said she’ll leave the lights on for me” as in, she’ll leave the lights on as she sleeps bc she’s afraid of the dark, like a child, but it was brought to my attention that it could also mean that grandma’s leaving the porch/kitchen light on because she’s out late at night, although i kinda connect to the first interpretation better, this songs reminds me of being very young & how elusive it all seems now, but now i’m a young adult & i still feel like a happy, little girl in a big, scary world, but i want to embrace my sense of wonder & optimism within it, my earliest memories & beautiful, abstract images always haunt my spirit & find their way into my mind’s eye… i’ll never escape it… but that’s alright <3 -

Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Dark Angel replied to Monicker's topic in Lana Thoughts
since it was for april fool’s, i’d say it was a joke, that post also had some bikini gold lyrics which we know now aren’t in the song & honestly that doesn’t seem like a “lana” song title -
How many different Genres of music do you listen to?
Dark Angel replied to The Siren's topic in Music
i like many different styles of music i’d say i like alternative, i feel like “alternative” can mean a lot of different things, but the only alternative artist i can think of is lana del rey, her music is just so unique & isn’t like anything else i’ve heard elsewhere i like rock, some rock artists i like include grunge musicans (nirvana, alice in chains, & soundgarden) & there’s quite a few rock songs i like (sweet child o’ mine, stairway to heaven), also 60’s rock (the doors) surf noir i really love songs which are psychedelic, atmospheric, melancholic, slow & moody (mazzy star, certain songs by the doors, certain songs by lana) acoustic, folky stuff is very enjoyable i also quite like songs which are long (6+ minutes) i like pop music if it’s quality & creative, pop music from the 2000s is a good example of this i like quality songwriting & poetic lyrics i really need to discover more artists though i feel like i’m only truly familiar with a few -

21 Dead and Many Children Injured in Texas Elementary School Shooting
Dark Angel replied to baddisease's topic in World News
at this point i don’t even care about the “right to bare arms” which was implemented in the 1700s, it should be incredibly difficult to obtain a gun, & you’d have to at least be 21, 18 year olds are still high schoolers, there’s no reason for them to have a gun, we’re letting too many irresponsible & violent people get a hold of dangerous weapons which can easily take out multiple people in a matter of seconds, people can blame it on mental illness all they want, but it’s a lot harder for somebody who isn’t mentally there to kill a bunch of innocent people with a knife or their fists, the times have changed & people just need to accept that not everybody has the right to a gun, it’s the 21st century, not the 1700s when they may have been more reasonable or relevant- 58 replies
