Where did I say it's bad? I don't hate all country, I'm a huge John Denver and Dolly Parton fan. I do find it funny that people are denying an acoustic guitar track produced by a man who basically exclusively works with country artists where she's singing about being a cowgirl is a country song. You don't need to sing in an exaggerated southern accent for a song to be a country.

i shouldn't have assumed, i just know there's a lot of people here who are very against to lana making anything close to country, so i guess i kind of just reacted :bebe: i apologize

I disagree. The "giddy up" "his cowgirl is gone" lines place it firmly in the country genre for me.

but they're just simply lyrics, and so what it is? i understand country has garnered a bad rap because of how it presents itself in the mainstream, but old-school country is certainly a lot more quality, and this is literally just an acoustic guitar track, it isn't like she's putting on an exaggerated southern accent or anything like that

My current conspiracy theory is that Lana's entire discography from BTD until now has been a psychological experiment with the aim of getting young people to think that Christian country music is cool by slowly and gradually indoctrinating them into it and judging by the reactions to this post, it's working very well.

are we really at a point where we hear a guitar and think mainstream christian country? :ohsnap2: songs like money honey, for k, pt. 2, and fordham road are more country-esque lol, this literally sounds like a 2013 unreleased song more than anything else
