Norman Fucking Rockwell - Pre-Release Thread

I have a thought, maybe the visuals we've received so far are part of an album trailer? Didn't Chuck confirm that they were part of a bigger project? I'm imagining that HIAB is part of the trailer (obviously) and maybe a couple other tracks... Hopefully released next month alongside the pre-order etc. -

Purely from Sylvia Plath? Cos it could've just been assumed as a reference to the scrapped song - like how MAC references VB, VB references NFR. -

Imagine if she had never teased Sylvia Plath on insta, instead just releasing it as Hope Is A Dangerous Thing..., we would assume it was an unreleased song or that the stans who first mentioned it had lied. -

Wow. -
When was it confirmed that Taxi was gonna be a monthly drop? And when did it get shelved twice during this time?

I really want Dance All Night to make the record or at least one collab with MØ

Kinda still mad that You Can Be The Boss didn't make Born To Die. Angels Forever, Forever Angels didn't make Paradise. Yes To Heaven and Fine China didn't make Ultraviolence. Best American Record didn't make Lust For Life. -
Ugh, I really don't want 1999 on the album, but it's the hit. It's gonna be on there.

I'd really like that image to make the booklet, maybe in the credits? I really think that the visuals will make sense once we hear more of the album, I like the stripped back approach. -
I wasn't acting dumb. You were clearly enthusiastic about seeing her live and hoping she embarks on a full tour, yet when somebody complained about the setlist being Born To Die tracks and only 2 new songs you agreed and stated that she's so boring. Just confused that's all.
-
So why do you hope she tours if she's so boring?

But just imagine being Lana, she enjoys spending time and collaborating with her sister (as we can see through her whole career, even pre-Born To Die). She's a successful artist and is at that stage in her career where she likely has more input then previously and therefore wants to support her sister's career and likely really enjoys and has fun doing the photoshoots with Chuck. For her fans to say Chuck is talentless, we don't want her, keep her away from Lana etc. They're sisters, supporting one another. And people would rather Lana be forced or pushed to work with a more professional or well-known photographer like Nicole (who she might not agree with artistically or work well with - this isn't confirmed) just because we don't like one album cover. Chuck has always come through with the single covers and I love the Honeymoon cover she shot (I personally think it's better than the UO alternate shot by Neil). -

I genuinely don't understand how people can say this... Like Honeymoon was serving visuals, the album shoot is probably her best and the music videos were really dreamy and muted - perfect for the music and following on from Ultraviolence. Then Lust For Life began with amazing imagery; the space aesthetic, which was a return to the cinematic following Honeymoon. In this era we got the Love music video which felt like a return to Born To Die visuals, the album trailer (space witch), the promo shoots with Neil and then even the Lust For Life and White Mustang music videos had a very clear aesthetic that fitted with the theme. Then going into the LA To The Moon tour. I agree that the album cover was lacklustre compared to previous ones. I feel like she really can't catch a break, people said Honeymoon was boring and that the album cover was awful. So she tried to return to the cinematic with the music videos and pretty much served us an updated version of the Born To Die album cover with Lust For Life (complete with original logo and everything). Then that wasn't good enough and everybody was saying Ultraviolence was her best look, so she goes back to the t-shirt and denim, except she wears less makeup and now she's not trying and suddenly not glamorous enough. I have loved the imagery served for this record so far, and we only have 3 single covers. The first two, for me, are dripping in hazy summer melancholy and wouldn't look out of place in the Ultraviolence album booklet. The visuals we got for the first two songs were a return to the homemade and archived footage aesthetic that she was famous for, this time focusing less on Hollywood - they look really nice, they are simple but it works. -

I really like the Hope Is A Dangerous Thing... single cover, firstly because it's just a promo single and secondly cos isn't it intentional? When she sings about being the most famous woman on the iPad. There must be a reason she chose that image, we see all the polaroid's of scenery she posts on insta as well as that Chuck shot of her on the bank - they could've been used instead... But she chose this image. -

I think I'd quite like the Norman Fucking Rockwell album cover to just be a block colour (with a sticker for the album title). No name, no image, one solid colour. Or maybe she could do like different variations of the album on vinyl, so each one with an image (like Venice Bitch single) for the cover with a matching coloured LP. -

But if you search it on Amazon, no such thing exists. -
I meant more like "hey angels. here's a new song, really love this one. music video coming soon. album out later this year." plus I still don't believe that whole album is starting from scratch...
-
Yup, she should drop CTMP (if it's still part of the project) as a buzz single alongside a music video and maybe announce an album date or title. Then if it takes off push it as the second single, if not move on.

Some thoughts about Norman Fucking Rockwell... I don't think the era has been messy at all - Lana stated from the first release that the album wouldn't come til 2019. Hope Is A Dangerous Thing... seems to mark the beginning of the campaign with another single coming soon, I imagine. Mariners Apartment Complex and Venice Bitch will be on the record (the critical acclaim). They reference each other as well as the album title, Venice Bitch was also supposed to be the lead single. I think that Happiness Is A Butterfly is going to be released as the next single (potentially marketed as the lead single?) and that's why it's been teased the most and was captioned as Norman Fucking Rockwell; almost like an introduction to the campaign - plus she has a music video to release for it. I don't believe it's been retitled or is the title track. I believe the album will be released March 29th, Lana confirmed it was coming in early 2019 and she liked the tweet that confirmed March 29th. I really like the cohesion of the record thus far; we'll have 11 songs minimum, however she was still recording in December (as well as scrapping the country songs) so I'm expecting more - meaning there'll likely be more experimentation and varied production. It's wrong to assume the album will all be piano ballads; I predict 3 at most. -

I think it was the label making her change the song titles perhaps... I remember when she first announced Paradise and she confirmed the songs In The Land Of Gods And Monsters and Will You Still Love Me When I'm No Longer Young And Beautiful? She could easily shorten her song titles but I think she does it cos she can. It was a joke, obviously Lana hasn't gave her Cinnamon -

Ew, reputation is not an example of what Lana should be going for. NFR is about to be her greatest album and we've had moments already through the singles and snippets that show the production is gonna be amazing. -

I don't believe the Dork website, they say they got info from a press release (that nobody else has seen). I believe that Mariners Apartment Complex was the lead single with Venice Bitch being the second single (Lana even confirmed it was an official single during her interview). Also those websites all said a new album wasn't coming and that Venice Bitch was an EP. -

Does anybody have a link to a press release?
