Sorry if this is too out of topic - but was The Cure originally intended to be a part of the soundtrack? I remember that the film got pushed back and the soundtrack was originally going to be promoted as an album... Anyways the glamour shots of Gaga in the album booklet show her with the brunette hair and the same blue satin blouse that's in the single art for The Cure. Lyrically and sonically I could see it fitting in.

I really don't think she's planning a solo tour or such - perhaps continuing the underground shows? However, I can see why she doesn't want to open for other artists anymore - she's underappreciated at the shows and is forced to perform certain songs (Fancy, I Love It, Boom Clap etc)… And no offence, but she's opened for Halsey, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift globally and it hasn't really benefited her career in any way.

"she doesn’t know whether her long-awaited third album will materialise in 2019" Like damn, where is the album? I really think at this stage she'd benefit from releasing a body of work that will be marketed and promoted for the GP... Even if it is label driven and not 100% what she wants to do. 1999 is the perfect time to kick this off, stick Boys on the album too. I'm worried that mixtapes or one off singles are only going to get her so far. However with no plan for an album, it makes sense now that Billboard stated the monthly drops will continue.

This a career highlight, I'd lover her to perform like a hits medley Break The Rules / 1999 / Fancy / Boys / Doing It / Girls Night Out / No Angel / Famous / After The Afterparty / Boom Clap Do you have a link to the interview? Please

That 2016 press bio on Atlantic's website I feel like this is the only time we've heard her label say anything positive about XCX3... BEFORE THE AFTERPARTY, THERE WAS A GIRL CALLED CHARLI. SHE LEARNED THE TRUTH ABOUT ROMANCE. SHE BROKE THE RULES AND SHE LOVED IT. SHE MADE THE WORLD FANCY AGAIN. NOW IT’S 2016 AND CHARLI HAS SHARPENED HER UNIQUE VOICE AND VISION. XCX IS THE SYMBOL SHE WEARS ROUND HER NECK, A SIGNATURE, SOMETHING TO SHOUT BACK WHEN THE CROWD GOES ‘CHARLI’! CHARLI XCX TURNS US ALL INTO ANGELS. CLOSE YOUR EYES AND ENTER A WORLD OF PURE FUN, INTOXICATING MELODIES, AND NONCHALANT EMPOWERMENT. LOVE POTIONS COME IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES. THERE’S A WISH ON EVERYBODY’S LIPS AND A GENIE INSIDE EVERY BOTTLE. IT’S THE SOUND YOU WANT TO HEAR BEFORE TONIGHT TURNS INTO TOMORROW.

YES! However I would love them to be used for the album artwork, they're futuristic but so amazing.

XCX3 dream: 1999 (ft. Troye Sivan) drops on October 5th alongside the music video Live performances and promotion begins throughout October into November. Album announcement and pre-order details announced in late November. Pre-order available in December, album tracklist and release date announced alongside buzz single, perhaps Blame It On Your Love (ft. Stefflon Don) or a new track? Second single from the album released in January, music video teased and released, promotion continues throughout the month alongside a small UK tour. Album release in late February or early March.

I do love these green photos, but glad they changed the 1999 aesthetic so that it doesn't look like a monthly drop.
-
Wait, I don't know the ins-and-outs of labels? What does a 360 deal actually mean?
-
I think it's unlikely, considering she's a writer... it might just be a non-album contract (if that's a thing?)
-
Sorry, I meant Troye had a large following, yeah Max Martin is pretty much unknown to the GP, but to her label he's a big deal. And yeah, I imagine she would stay with Atlantic... RCA I think would be a worse choice for Charli... They don't really promote there larger artists, looking at the longevity and success of the latest campaigns from P!NK, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Justin Timberlake etc.
-
It is genuinely insane, but I don't think Atlantic is to blame ahah. Charli obviously wasn't sure about the song when she did the Spotify event with fans, and that was during the second leg of the reputation tour? So it was already too late... Plus Charli was obviously very set in her ways in terms of the PC music, it seems now she's willing to move on from that. And the fact that the first non-PC era track is Max Martin produced with a current feature (despite whether or not you like his music, has a large following and large streaming numbers) means the label are going to support her again... I'm very excited

I really do believe that we will get the album this time, this is being marketed as a brand new single and has a music video and promotion funded by her team. I don't think they'd risk the backlash of delaying this album again.
-
the production and lyrics are 2 steps back for her, but enjoy I like the track, but the version we have, lyrically is on par with Break The Rules
-
Hopefully she's rewritten the lyrics

If we assume that After The Afterparty and Boys are on the record, then the 3 single covers together look amazing. The bright blue, pink and now green (plus the XCX logo throughout)...

Nah, I think the slime aesthetic is just for the monthly drops and this was probably edited for when 1999 was a solo song and planned to be a monthly drop - that may also be the reason that the editing isn't as polished as the previous singles, purely because the design changed? Also people saying about the pink eyeshadow, I assume that she did all these shots in one day, judging by the hair on the Focus and Girls Night Out single covers and maybe they just didn't edit this image.
-
Oh, I knew about If It's Over, I assumed they were different songs haha. And fair, I didn't realise Genius could be edited. Thanks for the info.
-
Genius has Dance All Night with MØ listed for release on October 19th? Could be false, but they had the release date for the Lana Del Rey single Venice Bitch first.
-
Also what were the 3 buzz singles released from Number 1 Angel? I remember Dreamer and 3am (Pull Up) but what was the 3rd? And if you know the order would be great! I know Pop 2 was; Out Of My Head, Unlock It then I Got It.
-
Random, but how are you arranging her singles now? Do you consider the monthly drops as promo singles like Out Of My Head etc. or do you consider them official singles like Boys and 1999?
-
Strange that she went back to that logo after changing up her direction with the monthly drops - I've seen some people say that it's because After The Afterparty and Boys might be on the album and the slime aesthetic is for monthly drops which might start again.
-
At this point, I wouldn't even be mad if they just changed some of the production on XCX World and added the monthly drops and 1999 then dropped the album, maybe change up the artwork. But XCX World would work as a futuristic landscape concept, in keeping with the slime / matrix feel - imagine Good Girls with a Charlie's Angels themed video. Bounce with Kyary's alien like vocals on the bridge. And then Charli with her autotuned futuristic PC flare. Urgh imagine the tour - opening with Come To My Party, a rocket ship visual taking us to XCX World and Charli in her latex / lycra outfits.

Disappointed that there's new XCX logo, however I am pleased that the love heart has been removed from the i...
