  1. i also don't think the bronco is for the cover... i mean, it could definitely still be related to lana bc it fits the surfer/cali summer aesthetic to a t, but i agree that if the release is really happening next month, it's way too close even if the vinyls are already pressed & even by lana standards. also, i think that considering all the relative secrecy and/or lack of info surrounding NFR, putting the car that's gonna be on the cover on a public ig story seems a bit too obvious. i mean, i'd assume they'd try to keep that piece of info under wraps
  2. that's just what this godforsaken thread was missing, pregnancy rumors
  3. added! dense is right, i tried reading the book of lies some time ago & gave up. it was so fucking cryptic, i felt like each sentence needed its own footnote
  4. totally forgot i'd made this thread added the above rec + the latest ig post but idk what else i'm missing bc i hadn't touched this since, like, march :toofunny:
  5. ...am i really supposed to believe that lana gets off from editing snippets of her own performances to look like artsy-fartsy vintage-y videos, all this on the DL?
  6. ok, so what's the tea re: @neohumanism? someone claiming to be lana on ig?
  7. in her last show she referred to the upcoming as album as "norman fucking rockwell" still
  8. i mean, VB is pretty damn psychedelic... not the other 2 tho, i agree. i'd kill for an album full of cruel worlds, venice bitches and heroins tbh
  9. an ott lachapelle aesthetic would be so weird with deeply personal songs like vb, mac and hope... plus i don't like lachapelle lmao. but the fuck do i know
  10. yeah i'm not a huge fan either. makes me think of comic books or cartoons or whatever
  11. the photos are giving me early 60s surfsploitation movie vibes
  12. @@Dominikx4 maybe i'm skewed by the total hit that was the portugal show (she even received glowing reviews in portuguese media), but i didn't get that lackluster feel at all - although i def would have if i'd only seen the nyon one. i've only ever watched 3 shows tho so i don't have a lot to compare to, and the first one was in montreux in 2012 so like... anything is better than her 2012 performances lmao
  13. please, she was 15 minutes late which is perfectly acceptable. swiss people are just anal about punctuality - i should know, as i live here. mostly they're accusing her of playback bc she uses pre-recorded vocal tracks for layering in some songs (in black beauty they admittedly drown out her voice, i noticed that in portugal & again here). also, they didn't like her lounge act onstage - you know, swaying in the swings, lying down for pretty when you cry, sitting on the beach chairs & piano, etc. bc they think a festival performance should be more energetic than that. truth be told, the audience was pretty bad & her inclusion in wednesday's lineup made no sense. it was a day with a lot of francophone electronica and world music, and the guy that preceded her was literally a french high-energy guy clowning around onstage. a lot of people weren't there for lana & only knew video games and summertime sadness (the remix, probably), and it showed. portugal's lineup made a lot more sense (she was also 15 minutes late and literally no one cared, btw), the audience was electric and the exact same show was a complete success there.
  14. idk, with the proper arrangement it could be a good fit... + it's literally a song about heroin, which is the thing that made me believe *maybe* it's true.
  15. i mean, every time she introduces VB and MAC in her shows she says they're from her upcoming album, so those 2 are for sure in it. as for Hope, it's anyone's guess but i'd say it's also gonna be.
  16. the under the bridge thing is so obvious that it's, like, TOO obvious
  17. the dress was AMAZING in motion. the longer, flowy back skirt was separate from the front so whenever she walked onstage we could see the side of her legs up to the hips, it was really sexy in a subtle way. no setlist change. the crowd mostly sucked, though. i saw her in portugal not even a week ago and the mood was totally different, the crowd was loud and SO into it and definitely there just for her; today's crowd was a typical festival crowd. she said the album is coming out next month & called it norman fucking rockwell, so no name change lol (since some people were speculating about that). edit: also, she said she was gonna try to stay in switzerland for a few more days.
  18. literally same. 8 or so hours in this heat and i'd probably end up fainting, so i figure it's better to watch the concert from afar than not watch it all
  19. lol ikr? i was gonna go to gva city this pm but it's 37ºC rn & real feel whatever the fuck, so scratch that.
  20. i'm sorry, but how does that look like an endorsement? it was an election within the conservative party and that was literally just the news
  21. she was just broadcasting the announcement that boris johnson just became the new british pm, which is kind of a huge deal in not a good way at all
  22. also: totally gonna spend the whole day in geneva hoping i'll bump into lana somewhere by the lake
  23. i agree that her music is better suited to intimate venues, but lbr, she's always been criticized for her live performances (often unfairly so). i first saw her live in 2012 in a venue with a max capacity of ~1500 & her reputation was already terrible (the fact that this was post SNL debacle didn't help, ofc) and didn't really get better in the following years: when anyone mentioned an LDR live show, the comments were invariably "eh, i heard she sucks live, should i bother?". her vocals have unarguably gotten better since then, but tbh i think a lot of people are disappointed by her current comparative lack of effort & drama re: outfits, styling, set design, etc. - which is a fair complaint, but imo has more to do with how she evolved as a person than anything else.
