  1. tbh what i gather from all this is that the old ~not really getting along~ recently became an overt conflict for whatever reason, bc those posts were ice cold. i feel bad for lana, it kinda looks like she's desperately looking for maternal connection everywhere and anywhere, which gives all the momstagram stuff a different, sadder context.
  2. you're not wrong. tbh i don't really care if people are paying money for natal chart readings & aura cleanses or whatever, but a lot of these white ~silver lake shaman~ types heavily appropriate & bastardize native american culture, exploit natural resources without caring about the consequences (to the point that white sage & palo santo have become endangered, for example) all while claiming to be eco-friendly & generally cater almost exclusively to well off white people after cherry-picking their spiritual offerings from other cultures. and i don't have a problem with her using her platform to help her friends, but your last paragraph is spot on. her bougie bubble is becoming more and more apparent.
  3. Last Night At The Viper Room - Gavin Edwards and Arcadia - Lauren Groff
  4. the only thing vaguely left-leaning about Lana is the fact that she's socially tolerant (as in, not bigoted re: LGBTQ people, probably pro-choice [edit: given her association with hillsong, who tf knows about her stance on abortion tho], etc.). she's textbook hollywood liberal ~socially liberal but fiscally conservative~ which pretty much makes her center right most anywhere except the clusterfuck that's the US political system. and you can't be a cop and be "middle of the road", whatever the hell you meant by that. you're a cop, you're very much a part of the oppressive capitalist system because you literally enforce it, period. i won't address the rest of your post because that's been taken care of pretty thoroughly by other users.
  5. idk, maybe she deleted the original post bc they looked too much like lemons & they're actually oranges? lol at the same time the stuff in the pick up truck looks like lemons but also she's holding oranges in the other pic, idk idk quarantine is getting to us, y'all.
  6. can anyone ID the glasses she's wearing in this pic pls? (also, the bag?)
  7. i hate the production of the entire paradise EP & for that reason it's literally my least favorite thing from her entire discog, so i guess there's that
  8. oh fuck NO. literally why would anyone want something like that. let's leave rubin's stripped down & compressed to hell sound back in the late 90s & early 00s where it belongs
  9. sorry, but that expression really irks me. maybe it's just a phrasing issue and not what you actually meant, but it implies she should just settle and be subservient to her boyfriends in order to keep them. ACAB aside, not everyone's lucky to find a compatible person that one's happy with in the long run. i admire her for taking her time & getting to know these guys (which is what dating is for, after all) instead of stringing a couple of failed marriages by her mid-30s like so many other celebs, just because she's "already" 34.
  10. (⌒‿⌒) just little cop things (⌒‿⌒)
  11. kind of obsessed with this candid, it's like a pop culture visual poem
  12. is that shit even for sure a poem? like, did she state that it was, or? because tbh i'd assumed it was some type of life motto, prayer-y church bullshit that she just jotted down, at least that's what it sounded like to me idk
  13. if you really want things to change, you need to support someone who dares to be idealistic and inspires the younger generations to continue what he started, otherwise what you get is more of the same, i.e. the same old status quo preserving, lesser evil bullshit that changes absolutely nothing in the end. like, really, what do you have to lose at this point? what is any other candidate offering that's more appealing than the possibility of free healthcare, free education, and a genuine attempt to fight/slow down climate change? like cole fucking sprouse himself said (!?!), none of these things are radical or "communist" - they're an everyday reality in a big part of the western and still capitalist world. sanders might not be able to do every single one of these things himself, but he's evidently starting a movement & personally i think this is one of those moments when you're either in the right side of history or you're... not. -- anyway, what happened to graham? did he just lose interest in lana / lb, or...?
  14. the whole handling of the cancellation has been a total shitshow, but speculating about the veracity of her health problems is truly nagl. there's lots and lots to criticize without veering into "omg she's lying about her illness!!" territory with 0 proof.
  15. tbh if it's a psychological problem i understand not wanting to disclose it, and even a physical problem - health is a private matter & being a celeb doesn't change that, i don't feel entitled to know precisely what's up. what i do feel entitled to is to something, anything, that shows some professionalism and understanding of how much this situation sucks for so many people & that the decision wasn't made on a careless whim. if she's too unwell to type it up herself, she can ask someone from her team, a sibling, a friend, whoever. anyone can get sick & be unable to go ahead with their professional commitments, but essentially ghosting thousands and thousands of fans as a result is a really bad look for her & her team. edit: personally i was not mad at all when the announcement came; i was disappointed, sure, but i know these things happen & i was confident she'd address it soon on ig and/or twitter. it's as the days progressed & it became clear she wasn't going to say anything that i started getting increasingly annoyed at her lack of professionalism and, frankly, respect for all the fans she let down.
  16. maybe you have low standards when it comes to the professional artists you stan, but there's ways and ways to handle the cancellation of a tour in an entire continent, and hers so far has not only been disrespectful but also extremely unprofessional, so it's not surprising that fans are "butthurt". people, including me, had made plans around a concert date for months, lost airfare and accommodation money, not to mention the frustration of a last minute cancellation. it's not like we're asking her to release medical records or personally apologize to every single fan, at this point most of us would probably be satisfied with a heartfelt ig post mentioning the cancellation - you know, literal bare minimum shit.

    Grimes

few things bother me more than the transition from darkseid to delete forever
  18. touring is the bigger money maker for the artist, not the label. labels don't book shows & usually aren't entitled to tour earnings, unless they paid for the album and the artist got into big debt due to that - in which case touring money can be used to pay that debt, depending on the deal signed. labels make money from record sales and streaming, artists mostly from shows and merch,

not a huge fan of delete forever tbh. it's not a bad song, but the stripped down country-ish vibe doesn't fit the album; even the leaked version (black swan blues?) didn't stand out so much from the other songs. i wish she'd just released it as a standalone track. she looked cute in the video & the akira reference was nice, but beyond that it's pretty unmemorable.
  21. if only being bland was his biggest problem...
  22. Grimes also published a poem a couple of days ago, so maybe it's becoming a minor trend
  23. truly hoping that this cop dating, church going, trad wife-y bullshit is just another passing phase
  24. everything going on? like what? post-christmas blues? australian bushfires? impending WWIII? can the good sis be any more vague...
  25. i actually thought of this when she talked about "personal reparations" and wondered if this is her way of apologizing
