  1. I asked Justin Parker if he was involved with HM and told him that I loved his work with Lana and he just said "that's very kind of you".
  2. I'm okay with this being a bonus track for HM, but it just doesn't seem like lead single material. Hers are usually incredibly (Kill Kill EP, Video Games, Ride, West Coast). It's a beautiful song, but pretty derivative of her past work and doesn't seem to reflect the direction that she said she wanted to go in for this album. I'm still holding out hope that it's just a song she reworked for the film promo. Hopefully we get the full version next week.
  3. I'm starting to wonder if this may be the case. It doesn't seem to fit the style that Lana says she is going for on the next album (although that in itself is always changing). Maybe it is the "Old Money" of Honeymoon, though.
  4. Trailers use music exclusively quite frequently, but it's usually pre-released material. I think they probably just contacted Lana and asked her to contribute, so she gave them a reworked unreleased song that was vaguely reminiscent of the material. I refuse to believe that she debuted a HM track in the Age of Adaline trailer.
  5. Someone else told me they saw the film and the song did play for a very short while. They could also be wrong, so I'm not really sure who to believe.
  6. Lana isn't an indie artist as she is signed to a major label, but she would be classified as "alternative" because the genres encompassed in her music. She just happens to be "popular" as well.
  7. Y'all bitches are never satisfied. It sounds like another gorgeous, iconic soundtrack song to me. It's not supposed to be radically different in style or in lyrical content because it's for a film project, not her new album.
  8. I hope it goes on iTunes tonight or tomorrow. And yeah, I don't think this has anything to do with Hennymoon. The other single from the film wasn't included on the official soundtrack either.
  9. Of released songs Give me the bright lights Give me the bright lights Give me the bright lights Give me the bright lights Give me the bright lights Give me the bright lights I got that summertime, summertime sadness S-s-summertime, summertime sadness Got that summertime, summertime sadness Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Kiss me in the d-a-r-k dark tonigh D-a-r-k do it my way Kiss me in the p-a-r-k park tonight P-a-r-k let them all say I want my cake and I want to eat it too I want to have fun and be in love with you I know that I'm a mess with my long hair and my sun tan, short dress, bare feet I don't care what they say about me, what they say about me Because I know that it's L.O.V.E. You make me happy, you make me happy And I never listen to anyone Let them all say Hey, Lolita, hey Hey, Lolita, hey Elvis is my daddy, Marilyn's my mother Jesus is my bestest friend. (Yes, I'm a film buff and I know it's supposed to be surrealist and cinematic...but it doesn't work) You were like so sick, everybody said it You were way ahead of the trend, g-get it Elvis is the best, hell yes My pussy taste like Pepsi-Cola Don't treat me rough Treat me really niceys He drives a Chevy Malibu (I don't mind it...and it's supposed to be playful, but it doesn't work in such a serious song) I'm a dragon, you're a whore Don't even know what you're good for Mimicking me is a fucking bore To me You got game, boy, game, boy You got game, boy, game, boy You got game, boy, game, boy You got game He loved guns and roses, Guns and roses, He loved guns and roses, He loved guns and roses, Roses, roses. He loved guns and roses, Guns and roses, He loved guns and roses, He loved guns and roses, Roses, (roses), roses, (roses) Roses, roses, roses. Yayo, yayo, yayo, All the Floridians say, Yayo, yayo, yayo, All the Colombians say, Yayo, yayo, yayo, And all my girlfriends, Yayo, yayo, yayo, That's how we do it like.
  10. I've been wondering if it samples Music to Watch Girls By https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=auS-ndWXLso Also, I'm about to sound like a Little Monster, but you can totally see water and a boat rail in the back of that IG selfie of Lana and her team. And Rob posted a picture of Chuck on a boat in the Gulf last week around the time the video was being shot. Yasss, mama, slay us with your tropical imagery.
  11. I was expecting a single after the tour, but she did say she wanted to release the album after the tour, so it would make sense for a single to come out around this time.
  12. West Coast was premiered a week and a half after we saw the first on-set pictures from the music video.
  13. I was defending The Other Woman, y'all. Her vocals are amazing in that song. And anyone saying she can't sing blues needs to watch Million Dollar Man live in New Orleans and Olympia. Also, Nina Simone's range was quite limited but she made the most of it with her emotive style. Billie's was one octave. There is much more to being a jazz singer than the qualities people are listing here.
  14. People said that about The Other Woman, but look how those vocals turned out...
  15. She holds high notes effortlessly and she has belted low ones on numerous occasions. Cruel World live, HSB live, etc.
  16. Lana definitely has the voice for old school blues. Her range is over 3 octaves and has that jazzy tone.
  17. Yeah, definitely surrealist lyrics a la Lucy in the Sky or the movies of David Lynch. I'm thinking it will sound like a mixture of Fiona Apple and Back to Black.
  18. I'm surprised that some of you guys weren't expecting the UV sound. Most of her unreleased discography and AKA were indie rock and she had been steadily progressing to full-on rock record for a while (the increase of guitars and pop/rock sound of Paradise and she had been playing rock versions of the BTD songs on tours). I'm still expecting Honeymoon to incorporate more bluesy rock or soul than straight-up jazz. Ronson produces A LOT of the former.
