  1. I still hear "they only love me cause I'm playing on the radio" the second time in each chorus.
  2. Do we have any concrete info about Lana graduating from Fordham? I know the general consensus is that she did not, but is there anything definitive?
  3. Also, intuition tells me that the cover will be a Mark Ryden-esque painting of Lana.
  4. I've said this before, but I think Honeymoon will be a lot like the surrealist work of Ryden or David Lynch in that it will appear beautiful and ethereal, but have more sinister undertones. It should be very interesting. This album has incredible potential.
  5. Considering the most recent round of petulant backlash, I'm very happy that Lana has chosen to include a cover of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" on Honeymoon.
  6. What irritates me most about this is that people assume that these emotions are not real for Lana. Just because she's rich and beautiful, she can't be depressed or suffering from anxiety? I think she combines her own personal demons and past with an aesthetic she loves and this culminates into the narratives that her music embodies. It's easy to dismiss her as "just a persona," but a simple look at her music and work from ten years ago shows that this imagery and lyrical content remains consistent. There also seem to be several indications that she was quite a troubled teen. Most importantly, through her music, she gives a voice to oppressed women. I think Ultraviolence was more of a statement on the treatment of women by the industry and a reflection on the dark side of fame than a blanket comment on feminism. It was clearly written from personal experiences with a lot of sardonic tones. It's just very sad for me to witness a woman being perpetually torn down by critics and peers because of the way she chooses to express herself. Isn't that a direct contradiction of what feminism is all about?
  7. I agree...I only want Ronson because I love his work with Amy Winehouse and the idea of a jazzy Lana album. I would sell myself to have Justin Parker back.
  8. Nowels produced Cola and Heath did Old Money, so credit there...but the rest
  9. Lol, it wouldn't. He produces a lot of soul and jazzy rock as well. Lana even said it would be different from his usual production.
  10. Hmm, not so sure about that. Most of Interscope's artists are in the indie spectrum and UV sold pretty well for being an alt rock album. I'm sure they pay attention to critical acclaim as well. I think they would pay for her to work with someone as mainstream as Ronson who could produce a big-selling record.
  11. Exactly. I'm still holding on to hope that Ronson is somehow involved because of the comment he made about not wanting to announce anything before Lana did.
  12. I'm kind of worried about producers. I trust Lana's judgment, but it seems like Ronson won't be the main producer after all. I really hope that she doesn't let Heath or Nowels do it.
  13. I would bet my life on her referencing "Marcello, come here" at least once.
  14. Gurl, what are you up to? Random account with zero posts or followers until Lana followed them.
  15. No, I agree. I want the single release after the tour. I just meant news about the producers or artwork photographer would tie me over until mid-Summer.
  16. Definitive news about producers or artwork would tie me over for a long time. Her team would be smart to put up a simple pre-order when the first single drops. They waited far too long with Ultraviolence.
  17. If this fanboy is telling the truth, it worries me a bit. Unless he was just being coy, he recently said he hadn't recorded anything with her, so I doubt they finished anything in the last couple of weeks.
  18. I think Lana's desire to use surrealist lyrics for this album is brilliant in a number of ways, not least of which being that it is a big "fuck you" to those who accuse her lyrics of being inauthentic. Rather than stripping them down and removing the parts of her lyrics through which she is "dreaming," she decides to embrace fantasy. I love it.
  19. I'm just happy that she continues to make high-quality music and is solidfying her place in music history. She could be like Gaga and go from a couple of years of being over-exposed to a rapid decline because of that very factor, as well as low-quality music. That said, the short-term gain would be better access to big video budgets. But then again, people like Lykke Li rock their low-budget videos.
