  1. https://pitchfork.com/features/cover-story/sky-ferreira-masochism-interview/?utm_brand=p4k&utm_medium=social&mbid=social_twitter&utm_social-type=owned&utm_source=twitter Even Sky Ferreira is out here releasing shoegaze and Lynch inspired songs while Lana is being a ~baddie~
  2. That poem is actually really good. Hm, maybe I’ll buy this after all,
  3. I don’t know...the music feels very late summer, fading light at dusk to me. And Laurel Canyon imagery is synonymous with that color palette. The driving scenes in the VB video have a little bit of that feel as well.
  4. From the other thread, some ideas Rusko and I came up with for album art to match a cover inspired by my above post:
  5. I posted this in the other thread already, but this is the color scheme and aesthetic I'm dying for: It would be a perfect modern take on the Lauren Canyon imagery - which Lana has repeatedly described the album as being influenced by. And it would fit well with the two VHS videos we have so far featuring rustic LA scenery.
  6. I get annoyed with everyone asking for collabs with every single artist. Lana collabs rarely sound very good.
  7. A choice. It’s been 2.5 months since we’ve heard anything from the album. That’s longer than other Lana release cycles.
  8. Ok, I actually like that she’s using her own iPhone photos.
  9. I really just want something like the old Laurel Canyon or desert photos from the late 60s. With Lana standing in front like Mazzy Star photos from the 90s. A mixture of these pics: That, ladies and gays, would be iconic and match the music Lana described. —- Wow, our minds. We posted these at the same time, nearly.
  10. Theory: LFL was a grown up Lana BTD (but messy) NFR is UV 2.0 The next album will be Honeymoon 2.0 full of jazzy songs and Lynchian lyrics.
  11. I like this Mazzy Star photo...fits the NFR, end of the day, fading light vibe well.
  12. The MAC mini-bridge is so sexy and full of longing at once. Love the electric guitars that fade in.
  13. Somebody has convinced her that singers need upbeat music and dancers to be interesting. It's really sad how she has lot her x-factor and effortless cool on stage, and now relies on playback and the dancers. I'd give anything to have 2013-2015 live Lana back. She used to be so magnetic, filled with emotion and swaying to her song. There was so much atmosphere, and now she just dials it in each time.
  14. Well, considering it's almost April, I'd say that isn't much of a brave prediction.
  15. "SATURDAY, JANUARY 12, 2019 Originally announced for March 29 according to persistent rumors of MTV UK , the record would eventually be postponed to " mid-2019 ", ie between May and July. The information was confirmed in a press release from the Canadian branch of Universal Music this week." Nothing new here.
  16. Wouldn’t it be five we don’t know and six we haven’t heard? Happiness Hope Venice Bitch MAC How to Disappear In Your Car Cinnamon Norman Fucking Rockwell
  17. She better leave those country songs off this album. They’re cute, but they would taint the album as a body of work imo
  18. What's exciting to me about HiaB and IYC is that we have no idea how the songs progress in production - maybe they explode into electric guitars as well. I'd love a psychedelic album that constantly shifts in production. I'm okay with one or two piano ballads, but nothing more than that. I'm encouraged by Jack saying Hope was a late-night listen and one of the first two songs recorded- sounds like there aren't many others on the album. I echo the sentiment of the album should have stayed at 11 tracks. I prefer cohesive, concise records over bloated ones that lack direction (LFL). And the three tracks we have together are already 20 minutes long. Most great albums these days are 40 minutes total.
  19. So strange...I don't know what to believe anymore. I'm glad she confirmed the songs are still on the album so people can stop saying they aren't, though.
  20. The amount of dragging some of y’all are doing is a bit tew much. Saying she isn’t as talented as a writer as Adele, Nine Inch Nails. The former writes basic adult contemporary songs to appeal to the masses and the latter relies on great production to mask violent, hypermasculine lyrics. I’ve even seen Mitski referenced as some untouchable god here when even she’s admitted Lana was a huge influence on her lyrics. It’s one thing to be frustrated with this release cycle, but to dismiss her talent on her own forum to look ~*edgy*~ is petulant af.
  21. Most of the show reviews are pointing out her newfound reliance on playback, often just letting songs play while wandering the stage instead of performing. Her laziness these days is really disappointing.
  22. We all knew she wouldn’t say anything about the album, and still had meltdowns all over the place No more shows for three months, so all we have to look forward to are the V Magazine shoot with Steven and a possible song release. The album clearly isn’t coming until mid-late summer...a year after MAC and VB. Just tragic.
  23. She only sang 12 songs and 6 of them were from Born to Die
