  1. No matter what the next picture disc looks like, I can’t buy it. I just can’t let myself. It could literally be a picture of Lana dressed as an elf from lord of the rings while hugging Joni Mitchell with cats on both their shoulders and I’d still have to pass it up. I have to be strong. This picture disc was already more than I should’ve gotten.

  2. Violet was the only album I didn’t get a black vinyl copy of because I felt the picture disc and cream vinyl were enough, but it was bugging me for a long time, so on Sunday I finally ordered a black copy from her uk store and idk how but it arrived today.... that was so fast. I paid for the cheapest shipping too plus everything ships extra slow right now. I’m grateful but it’s so weird.

I mean - if she would not use a terrible iphone pic as an album cover this would have not be an issue at all

I get that a lot of her fanbase would’ve been fine with the cover if it was shot professionally, but that comment didn’t mention a problem with the quality of the picture, just the content. And it was the content Lana had to defend as well, not the quality.

  4. I just bought one of the Chemtrails mugs! I’m so excited! Last night I was gonna get one but then they were all gone. I’m so grateful I had another opportunity to snag one. I actually really like the album cover, so I’m looking forward to having it on a mug and looking at it while I drink my coffee. I’m normally not much of a merch person, but I do love buying too many coffee mugs. :blush2:

ok idk where else to ask this, but the AKA Lizzy Grant album, is there a legit vinyl of that or are they all bootleg

They’re all bootleg. But the fact that they keep popping up in abundance makes me believe stopping their circulation isn’t one of Lana’s main priorities. I’d say it’s worth getting anyway if you’re gonna listen to it and enjoy it, but if you only collect “official merch”, you’ll have to pass on it.

the way they included angels forever but not yes to heaven or fine china...

This bootleg has been circulating since before those songs leaked, so that would be why they weren’t included. I’m surprised they didn’t make it onto Love&Sadness though since that bootleg seems to have started circulating more recently.

  7. So I got the grey from her store and the red w alt cover from that Dutch place. I wonder when UO will announce theirs (it’s usually on Fridays, right?) and if it’ll be the same as the alt cover or maybe another alt cover or maybe they’ll just have the standard cover this round. If it’s either another alt cover or the same alt cover just with different coloured vinyl, I’ll probably get another a choose between alternates and keep the other to sell later for once.

  8. The first card in her reading being the 9 of wands I guess refers to her troubles this past year with qftc and people “cancelling” her for everything. Since the second card in her reading is the ace of pentacles, we can only assume this reading is to do with her upcoming album since that would be the “present” position and the card kinda represents new starts with like work or money type things (new album rollout?), which makes me very nervous about the third card since it makes me believe her album will be received badly and she’ll get a lot of hate maybe? Hopefully I read all that wrong...

I love Lana's "cringey" lyrics. It's all a part of the campiness that she loves to embrace. One of my favourite things about Lana is how she can be so dark and profound while also being adorable and hilarious.

This exactly! I like that she’s not all serious and poetic all the time and has those corny moments. They make her songs feel so much more real because none of us are profound all the time. The mix of deep and shallow lyrics is probably what makes her lyrics so appealing.

I think this album has very strong masculine energy especially compared to her very feminine other albums (all of them, including sirens, except nfr). masculine both in the lyrics and sound. I know 'masculine energy' is vague but idk how to elaborate. and I think this is by far her most popular record amongst straight men, for this reason. its also my personal least favorite for this reason. I wish I could say more about why this one seems so masculine to me but I have no idea how....

This is kind of ironic because I found NFR actually had stronger feminine energy than any of her previous albums. She’s gentler and more nurturing and more truly feminine in personality than ever before. In her previous albums she displayed more of that strong unyielding masculine side of her personality while exaggerating a feminine appearance, but this time she really embraced the feminine side of her personality while stripping back her appearance so that the gentleness of her personality could really shine through. Part of me thinks that her strong feminine energy is actually what made straight men give her a break this round, because she’s more gentle and submissive and what they expect women to be.

i can see why tho tbh, a lot of the allure to Lana’s songs is knowing that she wrote them herself and that it’s inspired by stories from her own life/mind because she’s such an interesting person overall, with covers that aspect is lost and she’s just dubbing someone else’s story

personally when I listen to Lana, the lyrics come first and the voice comes second, with covers the lyrics are forced to come second bc they’re not written by her if u get me

How bout try looking at it this way: the songs she covers are ones she connects to on a personal level the way we connect to her songs on a personal level and by sharing them with us, she’s letting the songs she’s formed a bond with do the talking for her. It’s less autobiographical, but it almost feels more personal. It’s like her making us a mixtape but she decided to sing the songs herself.
