  1. I like singing Fuck it I Love You as “Finky I Love You” to my cat and she really likes it too. I’m grateful Lana wrote a chorus so easy to use my cat’s name in.
  2. The album feels very showtuney. I’m always nervous going into Taylor’s new albums because I’m not generally a pop music fan, but after listening to the whole thing, I like it. I like it much better than 1989 and reputation but it’s definitely not on Red or Speak Now’s level. It’s cute and yeah it reminds me of musicals and it makes me nostalgic for my theatre days. It’s defijitely a breathe of fresh air when it comes to mainstream pop right now. I hope it inspires pop music to be more fun again. Also I have this weird thing with Taylor’s albums where they’re always lyrically exactly in the place I’m in with my life when they come out so I always love that. Idk favourites yet but Lover and Paper Rings are the ones I’ve been thinking about the most. They’re really cute and happy. I can’t wait til she releases it on vinyl.
  3. I did listen to all the snippets and the ig posts, as well as the singles (obv), which is my main reason for thinking about listening to those two. I’m afraid I’ll instantly call them my favourites just because I’d be least familiar with them when I first listen to the album. I’m planning to not listen to the singles anymore after today so if I break and listen to California and Bartender, it’ll be today and probably only once or twice. Maybe it’s worth it.
  4. I haven’t listened to the lq leak (kind of surprised I’ve held out this long). I am debating listening to California and Bartender though since they seem to be the songs we know the least from and it might be more fair to the other songs that we’re more familiar with on the first listen through of the album. But at the same time I’m afraid if I listen to those two in lq, I’ll instantly regret not waiting (it is only a week left to wait after all). Those two seem like they’ll probably be some of the best ones so maybe they deserve the biggest reveals. Idk. I hate having so many options.
  5. If she’s really selling pyjamas please post a picture I need to cry over never getting ldr jammies
  6. Someone please post a screenshot of her merch since apparently they won’t even let Canadians look at it (lol why us we’re nice)
  7. Ugh no it just redirects to the Canadian store. Are there any uk links? Those don’t redirect for me, just the usa ones
  8. Can someone redirect me to her merch? Her merch store is closed on my end and her music store (canada) has nothing but music. I just wanna see if her merch is cute enough to buy myself for xmas.
  9. I love how all the trucker dudes at the bar look all sad when she says “Kanye West is blond and gone” like yes we’re all disappointed in kanye
  10. Kind of a missed opportunity though not having her on the boat during the Dennis Wilson line because that would’ve haunted me to the core
  11. I generally don’t care much about music videos and rarely watch them, but the new one(s?) is really cute. I especially like surfer Lana (real and green screen ones!) Plus just idea of having new music videos is pleasant.
  12. After hearing FIILY in good quality from my good headphones, I’m positive she says “I used to shoot up my veins in neon” not “in the arm”. That’d be a little silly anyway like saying “I eat food with my mouth” lmao like no shit
  13. This is the first time I’ve heard Lana on the radio and it’s just through the internet
  14. That 1975 song is already starting to grow on me lol. Maybe hardcore rock will make a comeback in the 2020s. I’m here for it.
  15. What just played? I wasn’t super into it but I’m happy that people are still making music like that. Reminds me of the stuff all my friends listened back in middle school.
  16. You could add: Dream a Little Dream of Me (referenced in FIILY) Summertime (sort of referenced in Doin Time technically) Happiness is a Warm Gun (pretty sure it was referenced in VB) Last Resort (I feel like it’s constantly referenced throughout the album)
  17. That’s amazing! I didn’t know about Smile but it’s always cool finding out about earlier work from people in well-known bands. Those are always fun things to collect when you love a band. I bet it feels special every time you pick it up. That’s how I feel with Buckingham Nicks and it’s not even first edition. And it’s relatable going through relatives’ collections. I had an old record collection that was half inherited from my dad and half collected from thrift shops but then I went through a minimalist “I don’t need possessions” phase and donated it all (I sometimes think about some of the stuff I’ll never be able to find again and cry) then had to start over from scratch when I came to my senses. What record(s) of yours do you think you listen to the most? Or at least the most lately if it changes from time to time (this is for anyone)
  18. I’m pretty sure it said rockabilly, not hillbilly.... especially if it’s vaguely Grease inspired
  19. Now that one would’ve been way easier to censor if need be. If it had been a single, it could’ve been Worked My Way Up To The Top and no one would’ve known any better either. (I sometimes sing it that way when I’m around impressionable ears)
  20. But imagine this actually is the finished product in the video??!?! Omg Do we know when exactly that scene was filmed?
  21. I hope they pick up The Greatest, but rock stations over here don’t play any modern women at all and play only a select few older ones. Rock stations didn’t pick up MAC either and it was as rock as lots of 60s/70s stuff they play and way more rock than the new stuff they play. But I’m still hoping for them to see the errors of their ways and pick up The Greatest. They likely still won’t though. Rock stations should’ve also picked up West Coast and Shades of Cool a few years ago too but didn’t (at least around here). Also they play the full version of Free Bird here so they should’ve picked up Venice Bitch.
  22. I don’t wanna get my hopes up, but I hope The Greatest becomes a hit, at least on radio. It’s so grand, it deserves to be a hit. It’s a shame rock radio is pretty sexist (at least around here) because The Greatest would totally work on rock stations better than most of the newer electronic-rap-rock stuff they play these days (but since rock stations didn’t pick up VB, i doubt they’ll pick up this one either)
  23. Are they allowed to say damn on the radio? If so it could be Dammit I Love You on the radio maybe idk
