whilst i agree the conspiracy theories are mostly harmful and achieve nothing, the free britney movement was a huge factor in the ending of the conservatorship and a lot of people doubted that movement in the beginning. in a legal sense, britney is ‘free’ now - i’m sure the control is still happening the behind the scenes and unfortunately not much can be done about that as it’s much easier to hide. until something concrete comes up it’s not productive to spread rumours about britney’s life.

i think people are forgetting how little control charli had over her own music not even that long ago. self titled was about giving the fans experimental bops whilst also pleasing the label. i don’t think it worked as it’s not a cohesive album BUT the era did repair her relationship with the label and allowed her to release two polar opposite VERY cohesive projects (HIFN and CRASH) as the label could see the demand and benefit of both separately.

i can’t comprehend that it feels like yesterday she was here releasing music and living her life and now she’s gone. part of me is sad and upset that it felt like everyone moved on quite quickly. but i also feel like no amount of homage could do her justice, just a slow acceptance. i feel like recently it truly set in that we won’t ever get to see her live again, she won’t produce or record any more songs. we can only remember her through her past work and still hear her huge influence on the music industry. miss you sophie
