  1. I cannot put my finger on it... perhaps the setting. The feeling of an "organized trip", so to speak... I like when things flow naturally when meeting people. Not sure I would like the context, the atmosphere... I'd rather hope she'll meet her fans after the show, which she did in Montreal, but I was too... well, I had the feeling she wouldn't care about us Montrealers so I went home. I logged on LB the day after and someone who went to the show the day before posted a selfie of him with Lana and I deeply regretted not having waited for her, but my back was killing me for standing up for so long. I'm buying this thing for her next show... seriously. I went to a physiotherapy clinic close to my place to get some info earlier today, because my posture sucks. Just look at my posture on my avatar vs Vivien's posture on my signature... Thanks Lana, because of you I'm finally taking care of my health. Ok... I started watching some videos of her last Montreal show. It's gonna be the same venue. This video tells me to stay very close to the stage stairs, but who knows... that damn cameraman might be on the other side next time, blocking the way. (fast forward to 2:05) I'm not expecting a perfect concert experience, but I just want to give myself the best possible odds
  2. Ouiiiii!!! I got the silver package as well. At 9:55am I was refreshing the page like crazy. This package was sold out a few hours later. Surprisingly, there's plenty of very good tickets still available for the pre-sale at regular price. @: my initial plan was to get a GA ticket at regular price. My ultimate goal for this show is to get front row, right in the center. If I'm on the edges, she might not come to my side. I want to see as clear as possible the expression in her eyes when she sings. It really moves me. They are the mirror of the soul. I was fine getting there at 5-6am even though I'm not an early bird. I was fine waiting for 12-14 hours. Then I realized that if people with a VIP silver package are allowed to enter the venue for GA before everybody else, they will take the best spot and people who waited all day will have to take the remaining space. Is it fair? It's subjective I guess... it sucks for people who waited all day, but on the other hand, there are real fans who absolutely cannot skip school or work to get in line early. It's not my case, but I'm trying to figure the positive side of it, because honestly it makes be sad to think some fans cannot have a premium spot even though they waited all day. - Regarding the meet & greet, honestly I don't care much... she's quite accessible, if I want to say hi, there are plenty other ways to do it. I'm already slightly uncomfortable with the concept of paying extra to skip the line, I don't want to feel more uncomfortable paying to meet her. There's nothing wrong with it and I have no idea how those things work, but I have the impression of something artificial about it. I checked VIP packages for other artists and if you want to meet Usher, you have to pay a minimum of $800. The gold package is $1400 and it allows you to blow his cock. To see Lana, my limit would have been $400 for the silver VIP package. It's a one shot thing.
  3. I don't know how bad it is to wait in line all day, but when I went to her show in May, I was in line by myself for general admission (there was more or less 500 person in front of me) and when they let us in and I got closer to the door, I saw a pile of old blankets, cheap umbrella chairs and plenty of takeout food trash that people left behind. I spotted some mini-camping settings that looked quite comfy. I waited 1.5h in line before they opened the door and my lower back was killing me, I had to sit on the ground. I guess for some people I looked completely idiot as I was the only one sitting on the asphalt for that part of the line. It looked like I was being punished or something. I was not prepared, but now I plan to become the queen of organization and comfort. A perfect Martha Stewart of GA. I need one of these: If you decide to get a ticket with a seat assigned, don't worry about what other people think. If I had to wait for my friends every time I wanted to do things I like, I would have missed great life experiences and opportunities.
  4. Go in the subway and sing your songs! I mean... Why not? If I didn't have the money I would seriously beg on the streets. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never miss a Lana Del Rey concert again.
  5. @@fessle: I know! My friend on FB didn't buy UV because he though her ticket concerts was too high on her last show. He wanted to balance things a little @: I was looking for a ticket in Canada Just found more info on VIPnation actually. I think I'm all in. Seriously, I'm getting old, I've never been able to get a fucking ticket for the Backstreet Boys (lol) when I was 14 I cried my heart out 'cause my mother was a single mom and we were poor, all I could wish for is to get the line at the radio station to win tickets and participate to every contest possible... #brokewithexpensivetaste. Too bad. I'll register to seekingarrangement or eat Kraft Dinner for 2-3 weeks.
  6. Well... the silver package is $250 and the only interesting thing for me is that it allows you to get in the venue before general door opens. The regular GA ticket is $120. My ultimate goal is to be in the pit, but I'll be happy to be on first or second row even if it's not right in the center, but I don't want to be stuck on one end. The thing is I don't know how many VIP tickets will be sold. What if there's enough VIP people to take the first GA rows (we're standing up, so there's no row per se). So, I wonder if I should just buy the regular GA ticket at $120 and wait in line at 4-5am or buy the silver VIP package at $250, be in a premium section and not having to get in line that early, even though I'll still have to get in line a few hours before the show in the VIP line. The VIP is so tempting, but I'm desperately trying to save money lol.
  7. On twitter, the promoter (evenko for Montreal) says the Facebook pre-sale passcode will show on Lana's Facebook page. Fuck I want to assist both Toronto and Montreal concert. I WANNA SEE THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  8. The fabric is sewn to be pointy, with or without boobs in it, but whatever
  9. Perhaps because you don't hang out with average Joes?
  10. All Maxim covers are quite boring imho. https://www.google.com/search?q=maxim+magazine&client=firefox-a&hs=ph3&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=fflb&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=MEBxVMVS84KxBJK7gYAL&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=663 They target the average heterosexual Joe. It's made to arouse them, within the limit of their understanding of art and beauty. The angle: lips on the foreground, opened, wet tongue, 12 coats of gloss and the liner is outside her natural lip line, shaped porn style. Or Marilyn style if you prefer I so wish she would do the Pirelli Calendar
  11. I know you're French, I learned it at the same time as Limelight did My comment was just random and not directed to anyone Boobless or not, you just used it as an expression, I didn't pay attention to that. I'm kinda curious how she likes her own boobs. She had surgery in her face, but her breast is natural, although she's quite modest about it. She's an artist, she's small chested, she could go braless in many photoshoot (I'm not talking about showing everything, just glimpse). She did many editorial style photoshoot and usually in fashion photography, stylists/photographers hate underwear, unless it's a lingerie shoot. The fact that Lana is quite open to her sexuality makes me think she might not feel comfortable showing them free of armor because of the shape. I saw a picture where she was wearing a bralette under a t-shirt and they didn't seem round and perhaps that's why she's insecure about them. But who cares, I mean it's her decision, I respect that, but I'm curious anyway. I look like a total perv, but my perception of boobs is different from the majority, specially Americans and Anglo-saxon. I have the impression that Latin people are more liberal and they don't automatically associate boobs with sex. If I look at the Venus de Milo, I'm not sexually aroused. I'm emotionally aroused by the beauty of the feminine body. Same with artistic photography.
  12. Americans have such a weird relationshio/perception of boobs. That's why I prefer French nude beaches a go-go
  13. Makeup was not necessary in that context. A no-makeup makeup would have been better. I still like the pictures though.
  14. I'm always amazed to see how much we have in common regarding photography style and aesthetics. So many ressemblences...
  15. Thanks @@longtimeman! I've found a few "lanalysis" threads, but I didn't know that was ZE one. Mamma mia... 65 pages of trivialities!! I won't sleep tonight.
  16. Is Lanalysis a thread? I can't find it when I make a search.
  17. I'm sure Lana has an account on Fet...
  18. Can somebody list the info they know about Lana and her interests in prostitution? I noticed some prostitution references here and there, some little more obvious than others... is there a thread on that topic? Like in Brite Lites video, she put some amateur footage of hookers getting into clients car. Interestiiiiing....
  19. Exactly what I think: she's not into hardcore BDSM. I would add that she probably enjoy some role play as well. I can imagine her as a naughty schoolgirl being spanked by her teacher
  20. Here's an interesting article on canceled concerts, consequences etc. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2014/04/28/what-happens-when-a-major-concert-gets-canceled-at-the-last-minute/
  21. I first heard of Lana in Feb. 2012. I was eating breakfast out while reading a very serious article in the local newspaper about Adele requiring apologize from Karl Lagerfeld for saying she was fat. In his quote, there was a mention of Lana Del Rey, which I've never heard of before. Since I really liked Adele at that time (still like her, but I'm not a "real fan"), I wanted to know who was this mysterious girl that was mentioned in the same sentence with Adele. I went on youtube and saw the BTD video. I was impressed and not that impressed at the same time. I though the video lacked authenticity, it had a "too calculated" feeling to it. I though her voice was very unique tho. I liked her resonant tone, very emotive and expressive but nonchalant at the same time. About the character, I wasn't so sure... then I heard about SNL and all the hate. I though people were really harsh. I was reading the comments on youtube and understood that she was quite controversial. I tried to understand why she was lying about her lips when it was obvious to me that they were not natural. Then I found out about her lies (or people misinterpretation of her). I started to look at paparazzi pictures as I wanted to see how she was in her everyday life compared to professional photo shoot (I was very impressed with her aesthetics) and I found out she was not pretentious as I though she was. She even kiss her fans on the lips, ARE YOU KIDDING ME BLBLBLBLBLLBLBLBL!!! She cried on stage!! She's human <3 After watching on youtube BTD and Video Games on repeat, I decided to download the album. I loved Summertime Sadness. Then I paid attention to OTTR lyrics and I was hooked. I was so pleased to find an artist that went through a similar lifestyle as mine. I went to her old ugly website to find out her tour dates, but there was nothing. I was disappointed. That was in Sept. 2013 I think. Then in April, she announced her North American tour and I was euphoric. I found out this board and I wanted to know more about her live performances as I heard some negative... Now I can say I'm a real fan. I never loved a singer like that before. I get obsessed with movies a lot more than music.
  22. I agree Lana must have been inspired (obviously) by Blanche Dubois for Carmen (relying on the kindness of strangers) and I think she was also inspired by Holly Golightly, the main character of Breakfast at Tiffany's. I also see a bit of Scarlett O'Hara in that song as well. Holly uses the word darling all the time. The liquor's top shelf might be inspired by one of the movie scene (check video below). She's known for her irresistible charm, her vivacious and bubbly personality, but she has a dark past. She is a sad, extremely confused and vulnerable girl. She's fooling everyone, specially her male admirers, by pretending she's having fun with them so she can make a living (they gave her $50 for the powder room, $50 for her cab…). In reality, she calls them rats and doesn't give a shit about them. She has the loveliest cartoon eyes. She was in her late teens. Diamonds are a symbol. She was living at night, getting back home at sunrise. She often uses French expressions in the movie as her old agent thought learning French would smooth out her redneck accent (the interlude is in French). We see her changing clothes and put on party dresses, applying lipstick in a cab, singing a song (Moon River). It is not shown in the movie, but in the novella Holly is fond of marijuana (getting high for free) and she's also bisexual (the boys, the GIRLS, they all like Carmen). Finally, I think she got inspired by the strip club scene in the movie. Watch the second video (the intro) then listen to Mermaid Motel (the intro). Edit: and look at the stripper dress... quite mermaidy (just realized it!)
