It's easier to be said than done. She 's bound by contracts, she has tons of fans (she cares about), she loves making music. But the haters are just spoiling her dream. I never understood why is that, it is so easy to avoid her: She's not on radio or on TV, it's not that she's shoved in your face. You have to search for her to listen to her. The whole promotion was restrained, her pictures were so minimalist, she's so pretty and fragile. But NO, there is just unabashed hatred coming towards her. I would recommend to establish a new psychological disorder called "Lana hatred syndrome" because this is truly a mental condition for some

If she'd had a thicker skin, perhaps she wouldn't be able to write such powerful songs. Suffering is inspiring. Her vulnerability is beautiful.

I'm so tired off this "I saw an article or a picture of Lana on the web and I know her better than anyone else". You know shit about her. We all saw those pictures and it could be that is from one or two conferences only. She never said that she didn't met her father in that period but it could be that were lengthy periods when they didn't communicated because her parents didn't approved her lifestyle and she just ran away.

I think she's clearly clinically depressed, and she's suicidal. People always talk about death before they try it and I think that the Ultraviolence reception could be the tip over. She's unbalanced emotionally, her family it's weird, Barrie it's depressive too so her close relationships doesn't really help her out, she's alone confronting irrational hatred...my god for a moment I felt it and it's horrible (waiting to be judged by haters while you are putting your soul out there)

You are an optimist. Until now it's pretty mixed: two lows from self-proclaimed haters and some good and very good reviews. But I fear what will come, I think she didn't changed her approach towards these critics she will be affected again by it.

This interview made me really fucking emotional. And "Is This Happiness" has taken on such a desolate feeling for me because of this interview.

And in regards to the death comment, I do understand what she means in a more metaphysical way.

I don't even know what to say; I understand the feeling too well, but I am so conflicted; it's so heartbreaking, she's scattered, unsure, and just disconsolate. Yet, there's a really strong perseverance about her. I'm not really trying to analyze her, but I just got this "It's been a complete fuckstorm, but I'm going through it, and I'm living with it" kind of vibe. Even the saddest people know a different taste of bravery.

I just want to give her a hug. Sending out positive vibes for the best summer of her life.

I'm not to upset that she cancelled because I hated that they messed up her name. It's just disrespectful.  It would have been nice to see her perform on TV tho, on the other hand her TV appearances were mostly controversial. I have two theories on this: they rescheduled for the first week of the release (that would be optimal from sales point of view) or she's so nervous that she doesn't want another strange performance like the SNL was. She clearly has an psychological problem with this pop stardom thing: she's avoiding big shows, TV, she always says in the interviews that she's a loner, that nobody likes her except her fans...it's strange, she wanted something but when she's so close to get it she doesn't like it or/and she's afraid of it (damn SNL and backlash, these things really got in her head)

I think the 'Fucked' in the title might not necessarily be as in having sex but rather as a person ruining/spoiling her way up to the top... just a thought

I just can't with her, now 80% are talking about the (boring) feminist issue and just 20% about UV.

Lana never gave a shit about feminism, you all know it, so get over it. Not everybody has to be a feminist soldier, so chill with the insults towards her because I can drag any wannabe pubescent feminist with ease. The reactions towards what she said aren't overwhelmingly negative, on the contrary, many are defending her for being bullied on the subject (feminism and choking - come on!) and some defended her right to have a different opinion on feminism. She's not hypocritical, that's her main "flaw". As we know it that some times it's better to keep your mouth shut or to say something that you aren't believing in.

"My idea of a true feminist is a woman who feels free enough to do whatever she wants" Amen to that. Many feminist don't live like that

You're still here you toothless Lana hater (shark avi  )?  You are the one who slandered her in the Rolling Stone comments section with that stupid theory that she's is envious of Cobain?!

Anyway, we don't know who's she talking about so we have to wait for the song. Lana has strong emotions I wouldn't want to be hated by her. But If she really is talking about somebody else then her in FMWUTTT it's just bad karma and pointless artistically.

I don't want to react to your faux logic throughout your adolescent superiority complex rant about what Lana said. You use to many emoticons to get you seriously. But this BS about her copying K. Cobain is just idiotic. Cobain was a drug addict, he was ill because he drugged himself to death. I don't know that well Lana to second guess her reasons for what she said or what she did. But to say that her story about her not feeling well is some copycat from Cobain's life is just idiotic. Lana is much more egocentric than that

The song is simply majestic, sad and melancholic. Lana at her best. The words are there to enhance the feelings that the music gives (there's no point to over-analyse the lyrics). I can't with the virgin teens lanalyzing this song in this thread
