I like that she's changing the subject matter but the lyrics are like, literally the worst they could have been. "what about these children and their parents ?? I'd give it all away !!" makes her sound like the basic whining white millionaire girl on a trip through Africa

So something's wrong

I like the drum machine / electronica sound, it has a bop quality to it, but it obviously needed more time

Towards the end when the production gets a bit more crowded and lavish I like it but it sounds so weird and unfinished. The melody is okay but needs to be refined. Why is it being released. So awkward

New Song "Coachella - Woodstock in My Mind" Out May 15
Kommando replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
Its that Instagram song. But how is this a finished song ? -
I do agree on some points but Coachella and Woodstock though both commercial festivals are nowhere near comparable when it comes to context impact symbolism etc.
-
It's just that no one's really confident in her ability to honour the subject matter, which requires emphasis on lyrics, when she rhymes "stranger" with "stranger" ; or just the fact that she's apparently comparing Woodstock and coachella which is downright insulting

So embarassing. Highschool textbook level of teenage poetry. Ready for her ass to get decimated by the critics

Affordable Healthcare Being Act Replaced By American Health Care Act
Kommando replied to reputation's topic in World News
All of this because someone's eager to get a bit richer. This is simply immoral. How is it possible to consciously put people through these terrible situations, when our countries are so rich and our officials so wealthy. It's 2017. Healthcare is not a luxury, it is a human right. -
It would slay tbh but they wont unfortunatelly, kendrick is now a fulltime bell hooks impersonator and therefore cannot approach white women without having seizures

Lana Del Rey spotted in Los Angeles - May 30, 2017
Kommando replied to cherrybaby's topic in Sightings
She said she uses tinted moisturizers most of the time, some kind of BB or CC cream, so actually minimal makeup I believe (for an American girl at least) -
her magnum opus

I will petition Congress to get her stupid ass to release the damn video

I think she actually took inspiration from Eden Ahbez for the "living in the Hollywood sign" thing. She knows who he was, she's used his songs for the Honeymoon Interlude and the Prelude to her shows. From Wikipedia : "1947, Ahbez approached Nat "King" Cole's manager backstage at the Lincoln Theater in Los Angeles and handed him the music for his song, "Nature Boy". Cole began playing the song for live audiences to much acclaim, but needed to track down its author before releasing his recording of it. Ahbez was discovered living under the Hollywood Sign and became the focus of a media frenzy when Cole's version of "Nature Boy" shot to No. 1 on the Billboard charts and remained there for eight consecutive weeks during the summer of 1948."

I actually think the "living in the H of the Hollywood sign" thing simply alludes back to Eden Ahbez. She's used his tracks as interludes for her shows since 2015. He was kind of a proto-hippie. Before he got rich by selling one of his songs, "Nature Boy", to Nat King Cole's manager in the 50s, he used to live in one of the O of the Hollywood sign.
