It would be another batshit parade of stuff noone cares about, like that Rolling Stones Interview where the pretentious Berlin-Hipster-Boy thought he was all deep for talking about ☆gHoStS♤ and window-views. -

I mean ... at this point "soonish" is over 3 weeks ago so there is nothing "soon" about it anymore -

Our savior salvatoré asking the IMPORTANT qestions. And btw - no matter how often we've been through this and how many passionate essays justifying her radio-silence I read - I still think her "I'm so vague and constantly put out fake info"-attitude is SUCH. A. BORE. Can this woman just follow a regular announcement-release-shedule? -

The only collab I wanna see is Mark Lanegan. Imagine how f*cking sexy a duet with their voices would be. -
It's fascinating how you found a way to complain about people being overly dramatic, negative and toxic in an extremely dramatic, toxic and negative way. You should try Instragram-fandom

I think NFR's actually safe. Although it features many of the elements Jack overuses now, it still has a very unique spark that stemmed from the spark of inspiration triggered by the chemistry him and Lana still had back then. I just think that most of the follow-ups - like CoCC and Solar Power - really howcase an era of "I don't know what interesting stuff we could do with those songs so let's just take the easy route and stick to the procedure-as-usual".

For some reason, Wildflower Wildfire seems like some broadway-song to me. I can really picture her melodramatically standing in a limelight on a huge darkened stage, one hand laying on top of the grand piano accompanying her, yelling "here's the deal" at the audience while these heavy first chords of the song resound in the back ... -
Yup, I think so too. The single blossoms of geraniums are bigger, the flower on her Insta seems more lyke a hydrangea.
-
I think that if Solar Power would have been released before CoCC, the discussion would be vice versa. That's the problem me and many others had with Chemtrails . Unlike NFR, where you could really hear how Lana and Jack influenced each other and created something new, CoCC's production sounded interchangeable, like something that was slapped on the songs because there was no other option/ idea and not because it actually fit them. The same seems to be the case with Solar Power. Melodrama was a very fruitful moment for Lorde and Jack, so she came back to him for SP. But since she seemingly lacks inspiration and a clear vision this time around, Jack just did his bread-and-butter production and the results are mediocre at best. It's kind of sad, because this was supposed to be a big comeback, but maybe Lorde's just over music/ not in the right mood for it rn?

"This must be Barrie, it's the only other long-haired dude with hands I know."
-
It's an ok song but damn it's so predictable. Nothing about this comeback is exciting at all.

Can we just stop to discuss yet-another-former-Disney-kid in here? Y'all bumping the thread always makes me think there are actual news about the album. Create a thread for Highschool-Musical-cringe or Olivia Rodrigo (if there isn't one yet) and go fight there
-
Rightfully so. "Solar Power" is a grower (even though it's still a weak track IMO) but there is just nothing that would motivate me to keep on listening to it or be excited about the album.

Norman F*king Rockwell (the song) and Fiona Apple's "Love Ridden" have quite a lot of sonical parallels and they also kind of represent two sides of the same coin thematically. On NFR Lana is settling for someone she may not actually really feel that much for, but she seemingly talks herself into it. On Love Ridden Fiona lets go of a relationship that has lost its thrill, she talks herself out of holding on to someone. This one might seem a bit wird, but I often associate 13 Beaches with the Gorillaz song "Fireflies". The track could have been so easily sung by Lana, especially the lines "Cause all my fear's invaded, all the crazies put on busses and sent up here to find you- living on the limits" feels so close to 13 Beaches' pre-chorus. The atmosphere, and the thematic of someone feeling like they fade away really flows similarly in those two tracks.

Her ending the album with WW into Dealer would be a SERVE! -
It's already Friday in most of the world though ...
-
Lol another WD situation. Maybe they postponed the single release to make room for buzz they hope to create with the Stephen Colbertperformance of Solar Power

I want an official release for Thunder so bad, I don't care if she's scrapping "map of LA" for it

It's amazing how the triple-single release completely outsold the entirety of CoCC. I've listened to Wildflower Wildfire more often than that album ... -
I'm not really that much into talking about a celebs orivate life/ relationship but just to speak generally - maybe it would be more healthy to just be single for a while instead of running a relay race from one boyfriend to the next. I get that it's hard for some people to not have a lover, but if you never really take time to calm down, process feelings, focus on yourself etc. there is a pretty high chance you won't be able to naintain a stable relationship with a new person.

Tove Lo is a guarantee for a halfcooked and basic sound. It's no suprise this sucks. Y'all wanted her so hard on a remix and now you're still not happy

I hate getting random YouTube notifications for clickbait-videos some idiot gay uploaded that features the Blue Banisters album cover ... I blame both the YT algorithm for recommending this bs and Lana for creating a situation, in which I could totally see her ranomly ropping new music without a word. -

It doesn't because that "one third" basically makes a huge difference for the meaning of the track. The demo was about a relationship ending because her partner is so focussed on being an acclaimed artist, while the other one is basically a story about two musicians chasing their dreams. That still works with some scenes of the video but in the end we have multiple scenes of her being pissed at him, eventually even leaving and driving away with her car. [I totally agree with you that she probably butchered the track before even considering to put it on NFR - which does not change a thing about the lyrics change being the worst thing she could have done to the song]
